    Thanks for being so candid and positive! I think it’s key to enjoy the what you’re doing like you said and let the results help inform and guide you. I hope you have a great year ahead with your PDF patterns. I would love to see a video on how you use Pinterest-that feels so overwhelming to me!

      For sure, thank you 🤍 & yes! I hope to make an intro walk through video to Pinterest, I had no idea what I was doing when I first started there haha!

    This was really helpful, thanks for sharing your experience! I especially liked your point about creating your own audience. I'd like to start an Etsy shop to sell both patterns and custom-made hoops like baby names or wedding couple names. I was planning to start a page on Facebook to grow an audience, but I'd never thought of Pinterest, that was really interesting to hear how you used it. Quite honestly too, that's encouraging to hear how much you made off the patterns, it was a more than I would have expected, not less. Maybe I'm just too pessimistic lol. I'm not expecting to make much with mine, I do it because I love it, but maybe I'll get that nice bonus of getting paid for it lol. Subscribed!

      Happy to share :) That sounds fun! Glad to hear it was encouraging! I feel like all I ever see on TH-cam are these wild videos about making thousands of dollars a month from side hustles and Etsy so I just wanted to share my reality. & for sure, nice to make a little profit doing something you already love!

    Is it necessary to make it PDF format vs jpeg? I'm curious why the standard format seems to be PDF.

    • @saintrogersstreet
      @saintrogersstreet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think jpegs are typically used for images while a PDF can include pages of text and images. I always export the pattern image as a jpeg and then when I create the actual PDF file with all the instructions I add my jpeg pattern and scale it to the hoop size the pattern is for to ensure the pattern will print to the correct size to fit the hoop size the pattern is intended for. If I were to just print the jpeg pattern it wouldn’t print to the right size. Hope that helps!

    Instead of not talking about your mistakes, it would be helpful if you did! I love learning from other people's mistakes.

      Ah ya so true! I did make a video recently called The Story of My Hand Embroidery Etsy Shop and in that video I share a few lessons I learned in my embroidery business journey, but I could probably make a whole separate video dedicated just to mistakes I’ve made as there are plenty more I could add haha!
