I am in the same exact boat! I started an IG for my art business in 2019. I have like 10x less followers and that alone was so hard to gain. No one clicks my link tree or any of the links. Thanks for sharing your story, your not alone! I'm struggling to find how to drive folks to my Etsy and TH-cam without IG.

🤍 glad I could relate, the good thing about Etsy and TH-cam is that they are both search engines so I think they can be good in by themselves in bringing traffic with some solid listings and SEO. I’m planning to also jump back into Pinterest as it is also a search engine where people go for inspiration/ to shop links. I had a pin go viral a yr or two ago and it brought sales to one of my patterns almost everyday for a couple months and that listing today still does really well. Hoping to lean into that again to get me more sales without all the tedious tasks Instagram requires that get me a few tiny sales. Wishing you the best on your journey, I know it’s not an easy decision to leave something you’ve worked hard at for so long!

Hi. I just wanted to say that I’m glad that I saw this. My Instagram is not the best, but it killed my joy of creating macrame. The pressure is real and ir hurts. I’m happy for you and will be following here. And I am a mom, it consumes soooo much time! It’s not cost effective to invest all that time and not seeing the return is pf investment as you said. Thank you for this. 🎉

I’m glad it was helpful, it definitely feels like a strange leap to take as it feels like it’s just the norm of having a small business to also have an Instagram account, but when really weighing the pros and the cons, it just doesn’t make sense. I plan to share other ways I’ll be working on and marketing my business in future videos, hopefully those will be of help too :) thanks for sharing!

I feel this soooo much! I've been a content creator since 2015 and ever since the pandemic, the effort I put in has zero reward. The only way to be successful is to create "viral" content that is a carbon copy of everyone else's posts. Definitely would love to see more videos about this and what is actually worth the time!

For sure! I’m planning on jumping back into Pinterest and sharing that journey in future videos : )

I was just getting all geared up mentally and equipment-wise to start hitting IG hard, but something has been holding me back. And you put it so clearly into focus for me. I love embroidery and sharing it with others, but as soon as the joy ends and it becomes a chore that I don’t look forward to anymore, I would be devastated. I’m gonna take a different route now. If you ever wonder if you’re making a difference in the world, you have definitely made a great difference in mine. Thank you for being so open & honest 😊

Aw thanks 🤍 When I originally started IG it was more laid back and fun, nowadays it just seems like you have to work at and fulfill a giant checklist to be seen and stay seen on the platform. I’m glad my experience was of help to you. Wishing you the best in your hand embroidery business! 💕

You’re not monetized? You’ve got over 2k subs!

Haha, not quite! The requirements are 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hrs so I haven’t quite hit the 4,000 mark. A lot of my videos are super short stitch tutorials and I didn’t upload the most consistently this past yr so I’m about 1,200 hrs away from monetization. I think I’ll get there in the next month or two as things are adding up!🤞🏻

@@saintrogersstreet ahhh yeah I see! You can do it! Try going live. That helped me on mine (I haven’t hit monetization on this one yet- I have other channels that are though).
