I started playing Diablo 4 about a week ago, and I'm a casual so, my only reason to go with Double Swing was because it was the ability which required the less resources to use
It has been fun to play, and actually very tanky, I moved to tier 3 at level 48, and I've died to elites with poison maybe three or four times, which I think it wasn't that much considering my equipment is not the best
I watched your video looking for something to replace it, although what I really want is a wirlwind build like the one in Diablo 3 but it seems I'm going to stick with my Double Swing (at least for now) so I'm checking your guide

Hey man! Great video. I wanted to ask you something, I've been following your WW BleedZerker guide for my build, and I was wondering if it's better to change it to the Max Fury one for Uber Lilith, what would you recommend?
Watching while running through a nm dungeon with whirlwind lol spot on sir. Although I am using a two handed sword so I will definitely check out the one handed build.
would recommend play hota with ew or qw keys for basic and core skill and hold position so you can do it anywhere, makes it so smooth

I've been doing thorns because I enjoy the atk speed. And I definitely have just held atk down while texting with no problems.
I think upheaval/shouts should be in between Hota and deathblow. It does suck that it’s a worse upheaval but it’s still pretty fun especially once you get duriels talisman
I'm running triple shout overpower upheaval with hellhammer, and all the resource unique gear. Would like a grandfather tho. Regarding casting it's instant when attack speed kicks in.dont see why it's not an s but I ll try hota as soon as I aquire +4 hota gloves

Great great video Dalkora. Obviously my build is not in the same stratosphere as these builds, but I run leap quake with upheaval as my core skill. In season 1 I was able to clear a tier 100 with it.
I feel like the second a build is able to clear t100, it should be deemed totally viable. These meta nazis keep shitting on anything thats not utterly insane speedrun pace, and it makes the game a lot worse. People will not even attempt alternative builds or try theorycrafting a bit on their own, because maxroll tells them anything other than three shout hota, ball lightning, etc is 'slow and cumbersome'. Im doing my own weird rend rupture iron maelstrom thing, and its doing t100 just fine. Meanwhile maxroll doesnt even have a rend guide.
@@RJMacReady1 Totally agreed. I actually like creating my own thing. Of course my history with leap quake dates all the way back to Diablo 3 (by far my favorite build in that game). So when I saw that I could play that in this game, I had already decided what I wanted to run. I do eventually plan on running a three shout build but I’ll still do it with my own way. Anyways good job on your build and making it viable.
This is why I only listen to these build videos for advantages or skills I might be missing and don't follow them to a tee. Similar to season 1, I'm playing three of your builds together, doing a rupture, deathblow and HoTA build with a super high attack speed, around 180% I think when everything procs. I have no resource management issues and I never lack for an available skill or ability to use. The only difference to season 1 is I'm not focusing on vulnerable damage any more, but instead have 800% crit damage and 1,400% overpower. I am running into some survivability issues but the DPS is unreal
Been thinking about a double swing build using penitent grieves, frostburn, godslayer crown, azurewrath paired with cc spread. Elemental ice barb
add thorns to the mix with the seasonal vamp thorns power.
You also have 100% uptime with aspect of elements on this.
I'm using HotA with iron skin in season 2 and it is great. Also using god slayer, flickerstep, banished amulet, azurath and fists of fate. Lvl 100 and working on getting all glyphs to 100. I also have the butchers cleaver and joritz helm which I alternate depending on what I'm doing but I usually stick with the first uniques as of now.

Yes, for the most part, at least for some builds. It's mostly the new Overpower and Berserking multiplicative Paragon node that make the Barb strong, not the Seasonal mechanics.

I’m level 58 I can elites and bosses quickly with hota but I die ultra quick in world tier 3. Any advice on what I can do? I can’t kill the seasonal boss for metamorphosis
Hota doesn’t require switching from basic to core if you have banished lord necklace hota doesn’t require your shouts to be up all the time if you have tibaults’s will its just good in all ways if you have it maxed
So I got insanely lucky, got shako one run and grandfather the run after. I'm currently using your hota build. With these new items, what would you play?
Currently right now I’m doing a hybrid of Hota and deathblow, I have triple shout, lunge, hota, deathblow. My passive is the berserker one w80% so I don’t have resource issues. Hota clears mobs and deathblow one shots. I have the overkill mace and I’m just slowly trying to get the other uniques from Duriel so I can become full time HoTa

Been running this w/ overkill, 2 shouts bc i have perma fury w/o shout, i only sub the 3rd shout with iron skin for the unstoppable aspect. i love double bonk build

This build focuses in hellhammer, overkill is a separate build, called one shot one kill death blow

DoT effects not being able to crit will always cripple a Rend/Rupture build, which is unfortunate as it’s one of my favorites. The scaling on most things that care about bleed effects also feels very low.
How well does the XAL ring work with Rend I wonder? Where it can make the DOT pop?
@@daltonroth5745 I just recently had that ring drop, but haven’t tested it yet. I don’t think it will add much to boss damage, but in theory, it should add to mob clearing.
Just get the key passive though?
@@RJMacReady1 Yes, that’s a lot of bleed damage that still can’t crit unlike every other damage in the game. The build does damage, but compared to a Walking Arsenal/Overkill build, well it can’t really compare.
Great list and builds. I am following your gigaclap hota build. The breakdown says to use accelerating but the gear list does not show accelerating?
I often continue to iterate and improve the builds over time, the planner is always the most up to date and "Best" version of a build :)

I liked the deathblow build! I played it from lvl 15 till 90 or so. Without the unique item. The item never dropped :( after that I switched to the hota clap build but i really noticed that i lack the fury build up. I think i will switch to the dubble swing build untill i get the unique for deathblow or the right gear for the hota. 😊 i enjoy playing barb!

I’m running a frenzy kick build and melting everything including Uber bosses
Guys, can i somehow make status effects (buff shouts etc) (which shown above our skill bar) smaller or make this line longer. Im using this swap 8 times for overpower aspect but cos of shouts, some party buffs etc its not even visible most of the time and i overpower my lunging strike instead of hota xDD. Any tips please?

Ww max fury build with bis gear is s tier. T100 bosses die in 15-20 secs. Clears nm dungeon in mins. It’s also more tanky than hota and gives you more option on amulets. Definitely my push build for zir.

Thornes/frenzy is better if you take out kick, put in steep grasp, go for max fury + rami. single target frenzy is very strong if you spec a little for it. I got 3 100 barbs, 1 WW (first guy) F/thornes (second) and just made a hota. Done 100s on all of them. I like frenzy/thornes over WW just for the fast boss fights. Hota obviously #1 lol
Hota at this moment number one. But author of this tier list didn't try Barb thorn. Which in my opinion is second place. No build, can screen clear overworld(helltide, blood harvest). I just jump every 4 sec cd and max speed, just looting. Pvp 😂 is fun. NM bosses die quick. Fun experiments with Uber uniques. The only build that can CC and grouo up mobs.

I was thinking about a bleed build. But i stumbled upon this and i didnt realise that its a meh at best.
Running HOTA this season just hit level 81 and seeing crits as high as 5 mill with most crits at 500k... now hear me out here.. HOTA is best played with a controller.. change the button bindings and swap LT with A and just hold LT and spam the hammer.. OP AF Hammer speed runs.. run NMD on average in like 5 mins if I am not looting

Seasonal Mechanics
Here’s a quick explanation of which vampiric powers we’re using and why; Prey on the Weak - This pact provides both a multiplicative damage increase and a new source of vulnerability, making it an extremely good offensive pick to boost our DPS. Metamorphosis synergizes with Tibaults Will extremely well, essentially having on demand the bonuses from this unique. All we have to do is Dash!Sanguine Brace - Nice and simple 8% crit is godly, and when combined with a really reliable and consistent way to generate fortify, it’s hard to say no to this one. Ravenous - HoTa Scales extremely well with Attack speed, and this pact offers it by the boatload. It also helps dramatically with the often clunky Lunging Strike

Pretty looking video but I suggest putting the name of the build somewhere while talking about it.
I think ease of use should be taken into account. Thorns Frenzy is super easy, super tanky, and will get through NM100 dungeons without worry and super fast.
It is also capable of killing Lilith and Duriel quick and smoothly. WW Barb is actually worse than every other build on here for speed farming besides Bleed.

Anyone else find it weird that nobody uses flay in place of frenzy for thorns? The one upgrade gives the same Dmg reduction and increases thorns as well.
Cus it on,y stacks 4 times for 12% dr were frenzy can get up to 40% dr with the amulet

Flay is a solid option until u get Battle Trance unique amulet.
Flay is better DPS until you get Battle Trance amulet, no reason to use Frenzy early.
Honestly, I still find Flay doing better boss DPS in my NM 90 dungeons right now on my level 92 Barb, if you have good attack speed.
With jagged vp thorns should be stronger than they ever have been
DeathBlow + Overpower exploit its awesome... so im think im doing just fine
A week ago I saw a video you made about a whirlwind bleed seeker and I was working on that, now you say HOTA is the strongest one…. I feel like I’m going to change my build one more time and next week you come up saying whirlwind is the strongest again…
I feel like walking arsenal is the superior barbarian build. And Im not actually that fond of the weapon switching stuff, Im more of a pure swordsman kinda guy (rend anyone?). And I know walking arsenal is by no means the most efficient kinda build. But its the one that best utilizes everything the barb has. Its got a varied playstyle with at least a bit of skill involved. Its not just braindead 'three shouts and spam core', which is the absolute worst thing and shouldve been nerfed/changed ages ago.
I wish blizz did more to combat those one button builds, whats even the reason to have this generator/spender system if people just find a way to circumvent it and play D2 in D4 anyways.
Don't care that Triple Shout HOTA is the best. I much prefer my leapquake version, less overall damage, but waaaay more fun
HOTA doesn't need a generator if you have the right gear, so no clunky rotation. You can just run around and smash. Behind the gearing requirements, its major downfall is that it trivializes the game and makes it boring. Especially now that I got Grandfather and Shako. Bosses and high NMDs just explode at the sight of me. For overworld content, slapping on hemomancy with high health from the two uber uniques causes an enitire helltide to combust. :(

Me too, I loved the no shout no barber build I did last season but it was still miles behind everything else :(
@Dalkoragaming Rend was fun with fields of crimson, ultimately went to double swing though. Tried hota decided no for the same reason I didn't go for death blow. Just somewhat takes the fun away. Double swing by far the most fun barb build right now. Just got tibaults and tuskhelm, to go along with the several ramaladnis I have had drop. Just incredible

I made a WW and what a huge disappointment. My max dungeon is a 79 and it was so slow. Damage is horrible

So what I dislike about every barb build is that all of them use 3 shouts. GJ making the video but I think everyone would agree that just run around and spam shouts is not really looking cool. Where are the builds which uses earthquakes?

The fastest screen clear is Thorn. NM100 bosses die instantly. No vampiric power explanation, no uber variants. All content? Yeah.
lol don´t use a basic skill when playing hota. It just eats up your overpowers.
My hota build uses Earthstrikers, you have to use another attack.

ww speed farming? Dude. Spinning around in circles in a group taking 10 seconds to kill them to move on, vs HOTA coming in oneshotting a pack and moving on. THAT is speed farming. For something to be a speed farmer, it has to farm fast, which WW does not.
Difference is, on hota barb you rely on shouts and need to wait sometimes.
WW is literally holding down the button and spinning trough all enemies and running past them to to the dungeon quest.
