Tl;dr: 1) Rob doesn't have his Fury at 100% all the time without having his shouts up. You won't have an always full Fury pool without shouts. Starlight Aspect helps with gaining life, but it won't make your Fury pool magically filled all the time. 2) These builds aren't immortal in every situation. He avoids certain affixes with heavy exposive AoE damage. I've read many comments about Rob's Fury generation which seems to be the main issue for this build. I could push my defensive stats to a point where I'm on par with Rob's and did a few experiments. 30k Health 15k Armor (/w Disobedience) 70 Resistance for every magic type 32% Close Damage Reduction 42% Distant Damage Reduction 67% Damage Reduction while Injured 31% Damage while Fortified 203 Total Fury 104% Fury Generation In the very beginning of the video, and from 9:20 onwards, for example, his Fury generation is just as expected low and not to an extend where his Fury pool is full all the time. His Fury goes up immediately only after he presses his Shouts. I could replicate the Fury generation as seen in this video, but just to make it clear: there's no way to always have your Fury pool at 100% all the time. Starlight Aspects helps with filling your HP pool, but again, you won't have a 100% Fury all the time. When it comes to immortality: As it turns out, we’re not immortal in every situation. As long as you don’t have explosives such as Death Pulse, Vulcanic Explosions, etc. as Affixes in Nightmare Dungeons, you shouldn’t die. It is clear that, enemies hitting you is great for your Fury Pool (more hits = more Fury), but if you get hit by heavy explosive AoE damage, it will kill you in the end because it drains too much Fury from the Melted Heart of Selig amulet. You don’t see Rob doing many variations on Nightmare Dungeons for his Immortal builds. I’m quite certain that he knows this flaw but keeps doing pre-chosen Nightmare Dungeons where he avoids Affixes like Death Pulse etc.

this is a nice build, but the casual player with max 2 hours a day like me will never get the shako or selig sadly.... so many duriel kills and nothing. rng kills the fun for casuals
How are you gaining the fury back? Edit: Played it like normal and didn't have to change any of my gear aside from selig. Going through 100s is a breeze, less damage but you ignore all mechanics so the run actually goes faster.
OUTSTANDING build and a big Thank You for including a version for those of us that only have the Melted Heart of Selig. Test it and its pretty crazy to run a 100 NMD that easily with just 1 Uber Unique, and 1 Unique (and not even Tuskhelm or Tibault's) and only 1 glyph at 21. Love that it does not feel gimmicky at all, just 1000% fun.
IMPORTANT: With your Updadet Build from November 29, The Glyph "Wrath" This means that he no longer has his bonus ability, which means a Fury loss. (24/25 Dexterity)

@@walterobi535 its not that he is generating more fury, its that his damage reduction is so high that the incoming damage is enough to sustain his fury. If your unbuffed fury gen is 75%+ and your running out of fury its very likely your damage reduction is not high enough. The more dmg reduction the less fury lost.
rob, with the ability setup yu have wrath and stomp. but in the skill tree you talked about the healing with iron skin. which ability would you replace for iron skin and when do you use stomp or wrath etc

I can confirm this works. I use starlight aspect on ring for fury gain on heal. I use shako, Doombringe, Varshan ring and Selig (ofcourse). I lack Grandfather atm but it works, been testing in different NM 97, 98 and a few 100's. Even with only 20% resistance for poison and lightning, and 50% on the others. Have switched to dps amulet for 1 shotting 1 boss. So still looking after grandfather and defensive pants. I use once and a while a healing pot to proc starlight aspect when in need of fury. Great job Rob
Yep possibly. That's what I use atm. Use evade for extra fury when needed. Pop a healing potion also to fill fury. That works for me. I run every 100 disregarding the affixes. It works as a charm but I can't stand still like Rob does for auto fury generating 100%. Would be nice if Rob clarifies that a bit more for his following testers.

You need more Ubers to have that HP pool. These builds are only possible with the added 4k+ with GF and this one seems to need Doom bringer as well. I try them with near perfect gear without the other Ubers (only using Selig) with a 14k base HP pool and it’s not even close to being as good. Seems Grandfalther or doombringer for the HP bump is mandatory. In this case, maybe both
You can do it with 14k, you just need more DR or a mix of both. The point is to reduce dmg as much as possible, so stop worrying about hp. Get armor, resistance, and dr if you cant increase your health.
Great video! I've played with both of your complications. I think the low life build is more stable. Additionally, in low life you can hit several times faster. You don't get crit every time, but it's more enjoyable
Finally had my bard to lv100, I don't have other uber unique, only 17k life and 9k armor, this works. Need shouts in t100 to be immortal but even without it, just fury dip, no real threat. I can speed run t100 ignoring whole screen monsters easily. Low life version is truly immortal too.
I don't understand how many people can't get it to work, it's explained so clearly. I have everything but the Doom and GF at level 86 and can't die. I use the starlight loop as per Rob's suggestion.
Can't figure out. Just finished it, pretty much everything includding paragon with all glyphs lvl 15 at least. Can't generate fury, can't survive, can't attack. If I use the shouts, now it generate few fury. Some times it procs and I can attack quite a bit, but any high dmg attacks kills me instantly, and even using the primary attack to generate fury, it can't win the loss rate to generate a single hota. I must be doing something very wrong. You can find my items ar d4 armory, TJChagas#1279, toon "Revenga". I followed up his d4 planner.
@@TJChagas your helm is too offensive, your chest is too offensive 2/4 , your pants are 3/4 and you are missing resistances. All these combined it makes sense that you can't generate fury.
@@egechang I noticed d4 armory is showing wrong, but yeah, pretty much damages reduction. My resistances are all 70%, that the pants and chest I was using, not using them anymore.
Hello, thank you for the great build, i would like to ask why are you still runing Sanguine Brace? you fortify from your legendary node already and the 8% crit give nothing to you when you have 100% critchance with the ring already wouldnt hemomancy be better for aoe clear as you already have a ton of life?

What mechanic is adding to your fury when you are "afk" ie, no shout, no attacks etc? I've tried starlight and other options, mine is just no where near how yours sits. Have basically the same gear except shako..
Great video. I'm workin' on this build right now. Level 90 clearing tier 90-100 NMS. Crazy crazy! But one question... why do you take the Iron Skin skill on the skill tree? Is that a requirement or can we allocate those points somewhere else since we're not using the skill?
We played today 40 duriels(i did 200 before got 2 shakos and 1 andariel). Today i got 3 grandfathers, heart of selig doombringer. Rest of group got 1doombringer, 1 grandfather, 3 andariels and 1 shako. RNG 😅😅😅😅😅
I was thinking the same. But then i realized that Rob is fighting the butcher here and he says during the video that he is running with the unrelenting fury ring. Because the aspect reads killing an enemy or hitting an boss with a core skill refunds % amount of resource. So Im thinking here that The Butcher counts as a boss and that is why his Fury goes so much up. I did try the starlight band ran into a bunch of mobs at a NM 100 and i got only very little fury back. I do have more resource generation that rob has, and all the uniques plus good roll on my other equipment. So my conclusion is here that for the sake of the video it is the Butcher here that is making the difference and that is why we see the Fury jumping up and down. But it would be nice if Rob just answered the question that has been the most asked question in this thread :)

I have the same gear, but I have only 97.4% fury gen. How do you get 200%? 2. rift is a speedrun, won't you get energy starve problem with this build? Like beginning of the video shows. I tried this build, i need to rely on metamorphosis or shouts for energy gen.

I have 2 questions, 1 is regarding this build: 1: Does the paragon board matter a lot between these 2 builds? Can I just copy "Grandfather NMDs" build but without having the uber uniques? 2: When you use your basic skill Lunging Strike, do you use a 2 handed Axe, or a 2 handed Hammer? 1. the immortal build and NMD build are slightly different. he takes an extra legendary node in immortal. 2. it's 2h mace, 1h mace, 1h mace, 2h Slashing weapon (sword or axe) --- mace for bludgeoning weapon

I don't think you read any of what I asked correctly. 1: The build I am following is not the immortal build, immortal build is using Heart of Selig necklace, the build I am following uses Banished Lord's Talisman necklace. Rob has 2 builds for NMD's, one uses Uber unique's and the other is Starter version without uber unique's. My question about paragon boards with the specific build I am asking is actually more a matter of getting to know whether I screw myself over when I copy a builds paragon board that uses Uber unique's without having uber unique's. Or it doesn't matter too much (since both builds with or without uniques are slightly different in paragon boards)? that's what I want to know. 2: My question here was specifically about the basic skill Lunging Strike. I want to know which weapon type he uses here. Does he use a 2 handed Axe, or a 2 handed Mace? Or it doesn't matter?
My bad. Rob has another build I think it's called best Barb build or something of that nature. You don't need any Uber unique for it. The tuskhelm works great instead of shako. And two hand axe works in place of grandfather. Your hota hits will be about 45 50 mil damage and with gf it goes to like 150. Look for any weapon from duriel for the 925 roll. Most important Stat. Then focus on the rolls he has. Armor and jewelry are less important on item level so you can get those anywhere
That was my question too. I think it's that you get 3 fury every time you take damage from Challenging Shout + all the Resource generation. The Starlight ring would also help.
@NeilTapman I would check everything again. Maybe Starlight Aspect and Resource generation are too low rolled or you dont have enough DR so hits are using up more fury than you can generate. Try using lunging strike to generate Fury if you have generation problems. It really does work. Just check your setup and expirement.
If i use your build my damage is so low. Cant die because of butcher, but cant kill him either. Missing the grandfather in the build but the rest is up to par with the guide.. is the grandfather that big of a deal in this build?
Yoo, for some reason my fury keeps getting depleted and then i have to quickly switch to the tibaults to get more fury. But cool build bro clearing T100's easy now🎉
That was my question too. I think it's that you get 3 fury every time you take damage from Challenging Shout + all the Resource generation. The Starlight ring would also help.
whats the threshold?? i tried this but i almost died, is it necessary for this to work to have the warbringer node? and the red furor ring?? i had a 18% resource generation normal ring when i tried. Also, do i need to replace tibaults for damage reduction pants??
With this, should we rather drop chrit chance on rings for life or smth like that? I mean we have 100% crit with it right? EDIT: The planner is a bit different to your skills in the vid. Ironskin is not used but in the skill planner. I dont have shaco, but not sure if i can drop iron skin for basic attack to make use of might affix.
crit dam, berserker dam, max fury, resource generation. So instead if crit chance, you go crit DAM instead. Or you can go overpower instead if crit dam.
yo rob, can you show off your build with a razorplate chest ongoing? would be funny af to just stand inside a large group of mobs with like 20-30k thorns and watch them kill themselves

@rob2628 try it with aspect of unrelenting fury and mothers embrace. Hitting big pacts fills your health and fury instantly with all the added resource gen. As long as there are more than 4 mobs fury is unlimited.
Hey guys I tried this (i just dont have DB) and as said before, fury generation is a bit annoying specially in low density or boss fights(unless u kill it in one hit) In my experience unrellenting is way to go over starlight

Hello, thank you for the great build, i would like to ask why are you still runing Sanguine Brace? you fortify from your legendary node already and the 8% crit give nothing to you when you have 100% critchance with the ring already wouldnt hemomancy be better for aoe clear as you already have a ton of life?

Hi Rob just wondering about your resource generation just because i have not come across a starlight yet because enemies just take off the fury they take with no 'extra' gain to it if you know what i mean :) still nice video and cool interaction :)
What mechanic is adding to your fury when you are "afk" ie, no shout, no attacks etc? I've tried starlight and other options, mine is just no where near how yours sits. Have basically the same gear except shako..

Great video. I'm workin' on this build right now. Level 90 clearing tier 90-100 NMS. Crazy crazy! But one question... why do you take the Iron Skin skill on the skill tree? Is that a requirement or can we allocate those points somewhere else since we're not using the skill?

We played today 40 duriels(i did 200 before got 2 shakos and 1 andariel). Today i got 3 grandfathers, heart of selig doombringer. Rest of group got 1doombringer, 1 grandfather, 3 andariels and 1 shako. RNG 😅😅😅😅😅
which of the barb builds is "the best" to do to farm everything needed for builds like these immortal ones? :)
excellentt!! but if you dont have the doombringer and the grandfather, low life barb works better with shako only
I've got to ask Rob... How do you keep generating fury passively? I'm running the same but I don't get any fury unless I keep shouts and berserk.
I was thinking the same. But then i realized that Rob is fighting the butcher here and he says during the video that he is running with the unrelenting fury ring. Because the aspect reads killing an enemy or hitting an boss with a core skill refunds % amount of resource. So Im thinking here that The Butcher counts as a boss and that is why his Fury goes so much up.
I did try the starlight band ran into a bunch of mobs at a NM 100 and i got only very little fury back. I do have more resource generation that rob has, and all the uniques plus good roll on my other equipment. So my conclusion is here that for the sake of the video it is the Butcher here that is making the difference and that is why we see the Fury jumping up and down.
But it would be nice if Rob just answered the question that has been the most asked question in this thread :)

Yes, I think he forgot to update it on the build. Crit chance is useless on both the gloves and the second ring.

Hey Rob, I recently started playing a Barbarian and I'm following your "HotA Grandfather NMDs (s2)" build guide. I have no Uber uniques. I know you also have a starter guide for this build. I have 2 questions, 1 is regarding this build:
1: Does the paragon board matter a lot between these 2 builds? Can I just copy "Grandfather NMDs" build but without having the uber uniques?
2: When you use your basic skill Lunging Strike, do you use a 2 handed Axe, or a 2 handed Hammer?
I'm new to barbarian so switching weapons and which weapons to use for each skills is new to me. Any help would be welcome.

1. the immortal build and NMD build are slightly different. he takes an extra legendary node in immortal.
2. it's 2h mace, 1h mace, 1h mace, 2h Slashing weapon (sword or axe) --- mace for bludgeoning weapon

You are not really answering my questions. I don't think you read any of what I asked correctly.
1: The build I am following is not the immortal build, immortal build is using Heart of Selig necklace, the build I am following uses Banished Lord's Talisman necklace.
Rob has 2 builds for NMD's, one uses Uber unique's and the other is Starter version without uber unique's.
My question about paragon boards with the specific build I am asking is actually more a matter of getting to know whether I screw myself over when I copy a builds paragon board that uses Uber unique's without having uber unique's. Or it doesn't matter too much (since both builds with or without uniques are slightly different in paragon boards)? that's what I want to know.
2: My question here was specifically about the basic skill Lunging Strike. I want to know which weapon type he uses here. Does he use a 2 handed Axe, or a 2 handed Mace? Or it doesn't matter?
My bad. Rob has another build I think it's called best Barb build or something of that nature. You don't need any Uber unique for it. The tuskhelm works great instead of shako. And two hand axe works in place of grandfather. Your hota hits will be about 45 50 mil damage and with gf it goes to like 150. Look for any weapon from duriel for the 925 roll. Most important Stat. Then focus on the rolls he has. Armor and jewelry are less important on item level so you can get those anywhere

That was my question too. I think it's that you get 3 fury every time you take damage from Challenging Shout + all the Resource generation. The Starlight ring would also help.

I'm a bit confused how your generating Fury by just standing there doing nothing is it the thorns damage that's generating that Fury back for you?
Fury is naturally generated when you get hit, pair that with resource generation and here you go
Its mostly from the thorn attacks as well
Its because the Starlight Ring aspect gives you fury when heal with the Invigorating Fury passive.
@NeilTapman I would check everything again. Maybe Starlight Aspect and Resource generation are too low rolled or you dont have enough DR so hits are using up more fury than you can generate. Try using lunging strike to generate Fury if you have generation problems. It really does work. Just check your setup and expirement.
Also Challenging Shout. 3 fury generated every time you're damaged.
Is this better for pvp or the low life version?

If i use your build my damage is so low. Cant die because of butcher, but cant kill him either. Missing the grandfather in the build but the rest is up to par with the guide.. is the grandfather that big of a deal in this build?

How are you gaining fury without attacking anything at the start? None of the skill tree or aspects look like they would do that.

whats the threshold?? i tried this but i almost died, is it necessary for this to work to have the warbringer node? and the red furor ring?? i had a 18% resource generation normal ring when i tried. Also, do i need to replace tibaults for damage reduction pants??

EDIT: The planner is a bit different to your skills in the vid. Ironskin is not used but in the skill planner. I dont have shaco, but not sure if i can drop iron skin for basic attack to make use of might affix.
crit dam, berserker dam, max fury, resource generation. So instead if crit chance, you go crit DAM instead. Or you can go overpower instead if crit dam.
Can you play this with WW with Rage since youd be spending more Fury while whirling?

@rob2628 try it with aspect of unrelenting fury and mothers embrace. Hitting big pacts fills your health and fury instantly with all the added resource gen. As long as there are more than 4 mobs fury is unlimited.
What would you replace with Mothers Embrace ? I was having issues with Fury so put back on Tibaults Will but interested in how you have yours setup ?

Hey guys I tried this (i just dont have DB) and as said before, fury generation is a bit annoying specially in low density or boss fights(unless u kill it in one hit)
In my experience unrellenting is way to go over starlight

Low life is still way better imo. this one eats into fury too much and unless you have 10 enemies on you at all times you need a generator.
