I particularly liked the mechanical reverb springs . . . embedded into a Buchla sequencer.
If I ever do get one of these somehow, I'll definitely use it.

Thanks for mentioning the jumper option for Sustain CV -> #seq. steps. I'd set mine up to do the seq. steps by the dip switch, but now I think I'll have both--the way you demonstrated. Cheers!

The shift register on the random voltages doesn't work quite as explained in this video. Each random output has an attenuated variation of the shift register that drives the entire random circuit, but the random voltage does not move from output to output. In fact, each of the four outputs have different ranges of variation. So, if you change which output you are using, you can get a different "flavor" of random.

I have both the 2014 Bemi Easel and the Command and I have to say the Bemi sounds much more Buchla style "bongoesque"... Not to say the Command sounds bad, far from it... It's just different. There are tons of devices that utilize envelope followers and they are fun on a bun! The Korg MS-20 has an amazing EF / Detection circuit, and the new Make Noise Strega has a very interesting envelope follower. Of course there's the classic Doepfer A-118 and SSF detect-RX for modular users as well!

Considering selling off my Eurorack and going that way. I have a full on techno rig for live techno and lately when I do have time for music I tend to spend the time on the shared system… just exploring sound and having fun… which is how I seem to see Buchla being used.. for more abstract ideas and exploration

There are some semi-modular options out there that might be worth a look. Think Erebus, 0-Coast, Minibrute 2S, Mother-32 etc. They will not replace this, but can get you into modular waters without going all in and breaking the bank.
