Curious about modular synthesis, electronic music, and sound design, but unsure how to get started? I have something for you! Join my free "intro to synthesis" mini course here: www.soundandsynthesis.com/firstpatch2022
PS: You don't need any special gear to do this-just a computer with VCV Rack (which is free to download).

I am glad I found your TH-cam channel.
You are smart, articulate, and creative, when you talk about your music/art.
And you are using technology and techniques, that I am interested in, in ways I would not have thought of.
Shared this with my friend, who has a Buchla Easel.
Cool glitchy sounds, and like the stereo movement too.
Subscribed, and ordered a signed CD.
Best wishes for your continued success, looking forward to more content.

Very interesting idea of using volume to trigger different granular configurations. That way the performer is kind of forced to think in terms of gestures instead of dryly pushing buttons to change a particular texture or initiate musical events. It also introduces an element of unpredictability.
I loved your eurorack presentation for Perfect Circuit, especially the "hands on" part. It helped me a lot in figuring out where I wanted to go with my own system.
Not only is all of this interesting, it's also a treat to listen to. MASS is an absolute banger, I bought it today. Big fan!

It would be interesting to double your Max patch so that you could have two of these patterns interplay with each other. Maybe have the choice of which one you like better to keep with your next input. This could be pretty fun to improvise along with.

@@SpectralEvolver sorry, I mean we built the level dependent buffer / memory writer capture part in Kyma. It was mostly Alan @Orsheboo but it’s useful as SBR demonstrates. I hacked it to use with my Myo armbands as you will see soon!!!

do you have any patch ideas for a eurorack system with the 2hp freez to do that grab and freez idea
like, if the 2hp freez was always on, unless it has cv go thru it to turn it off
im not sure, all of my attempts so far have not worked, i thought about switching the polarity and using that to trigger when im not playing but it didnt work
i also have the qubit data bender which is pretty amazing

    • @charlesdilks3267
      @charlesdilks3267 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Try going from your sound source into a vca, then sending a mult of the out to an offset, and the other multed vca signal into your mixer/out etc. You can then send the offsetted signal to the freez so that if the vca gets over a specific volume, there will be voltage sent into the freez. Just a hypothetical, as I haven’t the gear to try it on lol

Have you ever utilized the Cards in the blue horizontal 'Stored Program Soundsource' ? Do they come already made or do you create them? I use them in Erica
    Synths "Pico System III" desktop
Modular Box. Are you familiar with this piece of gear? It's great
fun as you have 5 readymade Cards which are used in the same way that Buchla created the Blue 'Stored Program Soundsource' on his Boxes/Machines. Pico III has a Blue Slot. Also comes with 5 blank Cards so we can create our own Soundworks and play them in that Blue Slot! I've been teaching myself & learning (about 8 months now) Modular Synthesis so I haven't a clue how
to make/patch a Card....I need to find a class on soldering and putting together a Module from a DIY kit. So I just use the readymade Cards then create my
own patches on the Pico III Desktop. Enjoyed your talk and playing of the Buchla. 💡🐒🎹🤙
