    You asked about independent outputs for Mod oscillator and Complex oscillator, and yes, you can output them separately. Above the Complex oscillator section is a dedicated output labeled "c.osc". Just to the left of the channel B volume is "gate 2 sig".

    Octatrack is the electronic instrument I've had the longest--always surprising, always inspiring. (And sometimes so deep it's frustrating! 😆) Buchla Easel Command is similarly very likely to become another permanent resident. These two instruments are like no others and keep rewarding exploration. Cheers!

    Oora cool video. Quick tip. To stop the flickering or strobing on the screen on the Octatrack which you see in your video all you need to do is this. Duplicate the track. Change opacity to 50 percent. Move the duplicated video footage over ONE frame. Voila! No more flickering.

    "Still in progress" with Easel, so am I! and we will always be :)
    So far pairing with Live, to understand control/connectivity, but going to exercise with OP-Z, VerseLab, and iPad.
    Great share mate!

      @@expeditiondechouette absolutely. The buchla has endless possibilities but there is tremendous amounts of ressources online. And the Octatrack demands “some manual reading” too. I have a Digitakt, Digitone but they are barely scratching the surface when compared to the Octatrack

    Buchla has like the biggest addiction potential in the modular world lol. Has sounds you find nowhere else. Especially those ´metallic´ like techno stabs/hits. Think jeff mills/axis records.

    Hi oora brilliant explanation of these two. You didn't show setting up the midi tracks. Did you just put the triggers on midi track 2 and track 3. What is track 1 for. Sorry if that's stupid.

    Oora, I love your videos, but you are using way too much sharpening in post-production (or in your camera). It has the paradoxical effect of actually making everything harder to see and read. It puts fine white lines around the edges of things and makes everything look a bit dusty. You might want to tone it down a bit or disable it completely. Sorry for talking about this, but I thought I‘d let you know.

    • @OoraMusic
      @OoraMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks , noted. I started adding sharpening later, so might have goon too far, will
      be more mindful!

    This easel is like the moog sound studio. Fun to use, but no one wants to hear the music that comes out of it except the person twisting the knobs. Sounds like an ice cream truck.

    • @azzaipdivad
      @azzaipdivad 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What you’re saying is demonstrably false, but I also totally see what you mean. Most people fetishize these instruments and/or use them like they would any other synthesizer, which IMO gives the impression that it sounds toyish. Every demo I’ve seen sounds like this. But there is some very good music out there that was composed on the easel.

      Charles Cohen, for example, was a musician and composer who used to perform live improv with an original Music Easel from the 1970’s. People definitely wanted to hear Cohen’s music and bought his records when he was around. He’s known for devoting decades of practice to the instrument.
      Doesn’t mean you gotta like it, just means you’re wrong about the fact no one wants to hear music made on the Music Easel.

      Im interested in the definition of toyish. I play any synth in the way I would play, not trying to emulate other people, so I might be a toy person. Kinda make sense actually.
