- Today we're having a look at how to build a free to use Buchla System within VCV Rack using only free modules. You can either build it yourself based on the information in this video or you can just download the final patch.

so many thnxs bro! one day I will get the original buchla easel, but now I have an option to experiment with at lest a good digital reproduction, as it does sound good in VCV, and better than Arturia's (still a good one) to me. thanx for the file and forthe creation and for the explanations

I don’t have VCV, or a pc on which to run it. However, I do have MiRack for iPad, and wonder if the limited palette of modules there will permit this set-up. Worth a try…
Be aware that if you want to do this on an M1 (or higher) Mac to not run the native VCV rack version for ARM processors but the Intel version via Rosetta. The NYSTHI modules have not been ported to M1 one yet!!!

Then you're able to run all the third party modules in this patch.

the dropbox download is not available ("file type not supported") ?
It is available. You can download it. Dropbox can‘t preview it because it‘s a project file for the VCV Rack Software. If you download it, you will be able to open it in VCV Rack.
@@ThomannSynthesizersCheers! Managed to dl. DropBox had me register first which is a bit annoying. Patch does not run om Mac M1 or higher unfortunately, alot of the modules are not ARM ready. Love your patch tho!

Yeah, if you buy the 'pro' version you get the plugin option that runs as a VST or AU in Ableton.

Doesn't matter. I can only think of one set of modules (or, a single one that I miss) that isn't available for V2 yet

Too bad this uses some proprietary modules and cannot be used with Cardinal. Would be great if someone can make a comparable patch that works in both!

Nothing beats hardware. Now that I own a lot of Eurorack I can't go back to VCV. It is impossible 😒
That is not entirely true. One thing is true. You can't beat hardware for costing a lot of money. When it comes to cost, nothing beats software on price. I own both hardware and software so I can benefit from both but choose neither to be better than the other. Then there is the argument about the amount of space a modular system requires when compared to a software modular ...
You can’t travel easily with, or bring Eurorack systems out into the park, or to a lunch break, sure you might wish you could, or want to. Until I have enough cash to actually build myself systems and stash them in each and every place where I’d like to have them, well then I at least am more than happy to get down with the softwares!;)
