Mine always has muted audio in the left ear and the cord between the headset and amp broke as well as the microphone doesn't even work

honestly follow these exact steps in the video. The only thing missing is that after everything is updated/ hooked up. On the adapter hold the + sign until it beeps. The reasoning is xbox one decided to send sound through either the optical cord, or the controller. So when you are hooked up like this, you will get an echo. Hitting the + sign disables the game sound through the controller. Easy peezy

honestly its great. meaning quality of the A40's, however xbox party system has flaws unrelated to Astro's

Same steps still work with series X too. Instead of an optical out from Xbox I used a 3.5 mm cable from my monitor to optical in of astro.. everything works a charm. when I am on solo I just use the mp3 port to bypass mixamp and it sounds beast driving my vmoda sennheiser 598se . Thanks astro for still supporting it instead of Microsoft trash company which took out optical and using proprietary chip instead..
Found this for the guys who have the Astro 2010 Mixamp, follow this steps they helped me out.
Configuring the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter By default, the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter will output both game audio and voice audio which will render the mixer on the MixAmp unusable. Follow the below steps to set the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter to only output voice audio which will correct this.
1) Set the mixer on the MixAmp to full voice audio.
2) On the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, hold down the chat audio button until you can no longer hear game audio and can only hear voice audio.
3) On the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, hold down the plus button until the voice audio no longer increases.
That's all that's to it! You will now be able to use the microphone from your A40 or A30 Headset on your Xbox One and the mixer will work as intended allowing you to mix between game audio and voice audio with ease. Should you have any further questions regarding the A40 or A30 Audio System and Xbox One.

If you are worried about wires you should buy the a49 with mixamp m80. It's wireless except for the cable from your headset to the mixamp. Which plugs in I your controller. Great sound. But it's stereo. In other words 2.1. But I can hear footsteps coming from all directions.
I purchased the Orange Halloween Discount Xbox One headset and it didn't come with the XBL Controller cable. So now I have to buy one? Why didn't it come with it if it was listed under xbox one?

Okay so I've started putting a video review for the new Astro A40 headset with the Mix Amp. I'm trying to get my Xbox One to work with this and so far the group chat isn't quite working. There's a buzzing sound coming through when I plug in a sound cable into the Xbox One adapter and into the Mix Amp 2.5mm chat input. The main issue is that the chat cable isn't readily available anywhere. I'm based in Australia so the cable doesn't sell anywhere at all. So basically it's a $300 headset without the group chat function from the mix amp.

I actually got it to work by just plugging directly into the controller's 3.5mm jack from the mixamp pro controller jack. You do need to use the 3.5mm to 2.5mm cable adapter that comes with the Xbox one stereo headset adapter.

I have the 2013 A40s. Sometime in 2016 there was an update for the Xbox One and I was no longer able to chat with the headset. Called support, did a ton of research and never could get it fixed so I settled on using my Kinect for chat. Have tried several times over the years to fix the issue, hoping someone had found a fix. Went through troubleshooting and bought multiple replacement cables. After having recent chat conversations with Astro Support I have found out what I had always assumed. An update, either on Xbox or Astros side, has made chat with my headset not work anymore. The representative just told me that I should just buy a new headset and sent a link where I could do so. Apparently chat only works through USB now. It's so frustrating that everything worked perfectly fine and they break it on purpose, through software updates, to sell more headsets. Like I said, I can still use the headset for game sound just fine. It just sucks because it's up to each developer to decide whether it supports Kinect for game chat.
If any of you are having echo problems with a mix amp do the following. Once everything is connected like the video tells you to make sure to hit the button with the person on it until hear a beep. For some reason the stereo controller wants to send sound to your headset along with the mix amp.

You need a 3.5mm to 2.5mm cable to plug into your Xbox one headset adapter and the mix amp!

I returned mine. I updated everything and nothing in the headset worked.
lol just plugged in my Astro A40 without mixamp, both mic and audio works, all I needed was the 2 to 1 cable and I plugged it into the Xbone Headset adapter and bam it worked like a charm.

Just got this and set it up. But damn that's a lot of wires everywhere. Destroys the look and feel of your living room, when that is extended towards you in a chair/couch..
The A50's are probably better suited for you.

It can probably reach you, but the wires will be floating midair. Not very nice, if people have to pass by you, or you have pets.
No problem with the sound or design really. You can use the mixamp to tweak how you want to receive voice/game volume.
Just a lot of damn wires :P
The audio echoes and you can't adjust the volume on the headset adapter buttons when you have these settings. Other setting have weird crackly audio and stuff. The only combination that works is:
'HDMI - off
Optical - stereo
Bitstream - off'
But I don't know if I'm getting the best sound quality possible? And yes, the mixamp, controller etc is up to date
It's supposed to echo. It's surround sound. These are the correct settings in the video.
Dagger 323 No it isn't. Whether it's surround sound or not, the audio should all still be in sync
There's a difference between having an echo and being in sync. What exactly is happening with your audio?
I changed my settings to these ones and could instantly tell something wasn't right because the navigation noise in the Xbox menus was playing twice after every movement

for the xbox one chat adapter, I don't have that small little cable that comes out and connects to something else, just plug it in straight to the adapter.

Make sure to also unmute from the switch thing that used to mute and unmute on xbox 360 before i got the stereo adapter it was muted and i couldnt chat took me 1 hour to figure it out.

i have done everything u said to in this video and yet when i get on advance warfare i cant hear people at all. in my diaplay and sound setting for the xbox i have my hdmi audio ser to off my optical audio set to bitstream out and my bitstream format set to dolby digital what am i doing wrong. also when i plug in my play and chage i can talk to people in a party but they say im picking up radio stations
Wait... I have to hook up my headset to the amp which is then hooked up p to the chat pad and then hooked up to the controller... Add to this the amp is also hooked up to the XBox? FTS.
What if you are using a MixAmp besides the Pro? Mine is from 2011. I can't update the firmware because it says "No device connected" every time.

Alright, so I picked myself up the brand new 2015 a40 model, and whenever I plug my mic input to my xbox one controller using the adapter, Im getting a massively loud, high pitch feedback noise, and nobody in my party can hear me. I've followed the steps in the video to a tee, idk whats wrong?

my standard toss link end of the optical cable at the back of the xbox one is really loose for some reason even when i put it in properly, and no audio is coming through but all the proper wires and xbox one settings are correct, any suggestions??

I am still debating on the wireless and wired version. I hear that there is a cord from the mix amp to the headset and another from the mix amp to the controller. The current setup I have is Xbox one, Astro mix amp, Happauge HD PVR2 capture card, OBS and turtle beaches. I am able to get everything to my stream including music from PC, game sound, my voice and team mates voices but I am now getting the 3 second delay sound that my capture card or OBS is picking up. I have my turtle beaches plugged straight into the mix amp and if I turn down the capture card sound, it fixes the issue but now it mutes the game and chat volume that goes to my stream. Basically im hearing everything correctly through my headset, but then get the echo of what im hearing 3 seconds later from the capture card. Is there a way to mute what my capture card or OBS picks up, in my ear BUT still allow it to go to stream?

but doesn't this mean that the game sound is being produced in stereo and not in surround sound. Because iv watched a bunch of other videos and they are saying to press all these other buttons on the headset adapter otherwise you might only be running the game sound through stereo and not surround sound.

When you update your controller can you already plug in everything like conect the chat cable from the controller to the mixamp and the headset to the mixamp or only the chat cable in the headsett but not conect it yet to the mixamp.
