The fact that Clarence thomas is still employed is a shame on america and shows how broken our systems are...
Generational.
I agree. I could use a vacation 🙃think Mr Crow could help me out? It's been over 20 long years. Please.
Yes, he is a national disgrace and an international embarrassment.
Clarence Thomas sold his seat to the highest conservative bidder and he did it unabashedly.
Clarence is the “grab them by the P” OG. Of course he will always side with Trump.
Alina says Kavanaugh will vote for Trump not because it's right but because he owes him.
This is the opposite of a good justice.
Sick people.
But Trump has nothing else to provide him. Trump is not going to win regardless of being on the ballot or not, if Trump has dirt, it's not like anything else has worked to take Thomas off, let alone all of the other ethics violations, and there isn't much he can do even in the House and Senate.
They have their jobs now and their master that they bowed to it out of any real power that can stop them or punish them other than press and bad names.
That being siad, they are beholden to the party and will more than likely say yes to Trump not thinking at all about future consequences, as we have seen quite a bit very recently.
One could argue that such a vote would make him impeachable...
Exactly. The point of a life appointment is to remove them from political influences. If any Justices are voting on party lines, instead of by legal understanding, it is defeating the purpose of lifetime appointments.
This decision will likely be unanimous or nearly so in favor of Trump.
Meh, the US was here in part of the 40s and 60s. FDR (famously) brought that to a screaching halt because he was going to just up and appoint judges untill the US put down the crack pipe. I have no idea how the hell we stopped the 60s erra SCOTUS from ding cunts.
Im from South Africa and really enjoy this show. When my own country's politicians drives me to near tears, I come here for comic relief.
Could you please take Elon Musk back?
That's nice you enjoy other's hardships.
@@TheDreamr2012 They never said they are enjoy our hardships, I'm not sure if you're aware but Seth is a comedian. For many years and as we speak china is using large scale loans to get the African government to borrow from them with land and resources as collateral - loans they know won't be able to be paid back in an effort to take as many natural resources as their own as possible while skirting international laws.
So if you homeland and best means of making money were being given away by your politicians - and that's the nicest thing they're doing - wouldn't you seek some comedic relief? Oh wait, that's right you're here, seeking information and comedic relief. We have so much strife, pain and suffering in our country and the rest of the world, must you be one of thousands of paper cuts making our gaping wounds worse?
Trump drives us to tears.
@@sks1258 LOL, nice try.
Seth, the zip lips, the Adam Sandler analogy, the Biden air drying in the locker room segment, the taco bell segment and the ending were spot on. I actually lolled. Well done Seth, the best Closer Look for awhile.
You pretty much listed everything.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
The fact that there is even the perception of "MAGA judges" on the SCOTUS, is extremely problematic. Thomas alone, debases the whole institution.
That's because the Chicago Democrat who is a product of one of the most corrupt political machines in the country told you he had ethical issues. Consider the source. Dick Durbin is a Chicago Democrat. Enough said.
Gotta love the unelected people who serve for life and have final say on all our laws
Yes well but he has been doing that from the day he was sworn in despite raping Anita Hill.
Beyond scary fix this now
Thomas, Alison, Kavanaugh etc.. not just one.
Republicans: "STATE'S RIGHTS!"
Maine & Colorado: "OK, then it's our right to remove Trump from the ballot."
Republicans: "WAIT NO NOT LIKE THAT!!"
Should Republican states removes Dementia Joe from the ballot?
"no, OUR states, not yours!"
Democrats: FREE SPEECH!!!
PTA moms: it's not a good idea to have biological boys in girls locker rooms
Democrats: OFF TO THE GULAGS FOR YOU🤣🤣🤣
Also Democrats: Sanctuary Cities!!! Open the Borders!!!
Texas Governor: free bus rides to Denver, Chicago and NYC
Democrats: but, but Republicans why don't you support a bill that accomplishes nothing and doesn't force Biden to do what he already has the authority to do? 😭
Not the way that works duhhhh
I loved that CNN cut away from him. Classic.
A serious journalistic institution would never be airing him live in the first place, given the fact that he's spent upwards of 15 years demonstrating that he uses such a situation to do nothing but spread demonstrable lies.
Not like they couldn't put him on a delay, at the very least.
They didnt bring the comercial with him and another one plus Cruz they all the same MAGA
so, at least CNN is not Fox Noose...
Trump continues to play the professional wrestler making the most outrageous claims he can make. It doesn't matter with his zombie rabid racist and white supremacist base. As long as we do not use the voting machines Ivanka got a patent to produce in China with Russian chips trump will lose by a landslide If we switch to Ivanka's voting machines God help us. This is going on as I am typing this post. The scary part is Ivanka slyly removed her name from the patent to produce the machines. Talk about covering your trail. Ask your self why a person involved in designer items, doing producing a voting machine? Why is this post deleted and not looked into?

Term limits
You don't. Without term limits a select few rule which of the laws that are passed by 2 houses of gov and signed by a 3rd executive branch are actually "legal" and will continue to turn a blind eye to "Qualified Immunity"
Like Clarence Thomas cares one bit about what you or I think. The man has no shame, only greed and a bottomless rage. He and Donald Trump have a lot in common.
I think you have to arrange it so that he has an "accident", otherwise he's above the law and there's no one that can hold him accountable.

To be fair the for life thing was implemented back when people were lucky to live to be 55.

Great job, Seth 👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆
The fact that Thomas didn’t recuse himself should be a green light to add more justices to the court.
Or make recusing mandatory with conflicts of interest rather than leaving up to the judge to decide for themselves! Corrupt judges aren’t going to care about the morality of their actions, hes never going to willingly recuse himself.

Windmills don't produce wind, they turn its kinetic energy into electricity
Depends on if the wind is blowing.
Correction: wind turbines turn kinetic energy into electricity; windmills in general use the movement of the sails to power things, whether that’s a turbine or through gearing from the sails directly, turning millstones or water pumps. Windmills have been around for a very long time and in Europe you can still see windmills that are 100 or 200 years old regularly working.
Sorry. This might be something more commonly used in the UK as on the news, for instance, they’d always say “wind turbine” to distinguish the modern, three-bladed wind-operated power generators from the older, shorter, four-sailed windmills used to grind corn or to drain land that are still dotted about our landscape.
I know Trump always says windmills, but is that a general thing in the US?
@@sarahrigby7580 In the United States, windmill is both used in a general sense of spinning wind-harnessing machinery (we don't have too many European-style windmills here), and also weirdly as a verb. Like if someone cartwheeled down a slope, you could saw "he windmilled down the hill".
@@benbellusci4413 oh yes, we use it as a verb too, in a similar sense, although I think the shortening of phrases such as « moving like a windmill » to « windmilling » and « gaining a podium position » as « podiuning » is something that’s an American trait that we then copy. I prefer nouns to stay as nouns really but you guys really like turning them into verbs , although we have « hoovering » (vacuum cleaning: Hoover manufacture electrical goods and at one point made most domestic vacuum cleaners here) but Swiffering isn’t a thing here yet, whereas I’ve heard it said several times by Americans, and we do have them over here, just everyone just calls them mops and isn’t too bothered about the brand.
I’m endlessly fascinated by how English varies so much between the UK, US, SA, Australia and NZ, and for my age group, I had university friends who’d grown up on army bases etc and went to international schools, taught in English to the kids of usually American and British families based nearby, and often these were shared so it ended up a weird mix of halfway between the two.
A windmill doesn’t produce wind. It harnesses it. You’re mistaking it for a fan
That's probably part of the joke.
But to be fair, the Founder definitely knew what a windmill was back in their days when it was used to grind flour or draw up water.
Trump has zero scientific competence. He hasn’t the faintest idea! Be it on immunity or treatment for Covid, windmills, electric cars(or stoves!) or tons of other matters, his brain is a scientific void!
Justice Thomas is a joke. No independency. Takes gifts from donors without reporting them and acting dumb that he didn't think they were gifts. Now his wife was involved in trying to overturn the result? Scotus is a joke. They don't even agree on standards between themselves.
Priceless!
As someone who actually listened to the Supreme Court hearing today. It’s very important to note that the justices were not saying whether or not trump should be on the ballot. They were mainly concerned with the mechanism for removing him. They were concerned with who makes the official decision of wether or not someone violates the 14t5h amendment. It’s important to note that we as a country have to be very careful how we handle this matter because if were rash it could come back to haunt us as states take people off the ballot at will regardless of cause. This is much much bigger than trump
I listened , too and I agree, the supreme court ruling him off the ballot is much less effective than VOTING an insurrectionist out of office.
They would rather punt to the electorate and / or Jack Smith.
Maybe he will take the room temperature challenge and save us all this trouble.
I listened as well and all they seem to be concerned with is that a state is actually trying to follow the constitution. They do not care to follow it. They are digging for any loophole to get around it. Imagine what would have been said if this was reversed and it was about removing Biden for attempting to over throw our democracy? It would have been and open and shut case. This is not a slippery slope. He violated the constitution and there for is not a valid candidate.
Yes, I can totally see Republican states using that to remove Democratic nominees. So this is the silver lining of this abysmal episode in US history, perhaps? If the SC is consistent?!?!
