I've watched this one about 10 times, keeps getting better!
I had predicted the first “Closer Look” would span 2 commercial breaks. I was off by one. Excellent 4-part segment.
So glad the writers got their due and the show is back!! And kudos to Seth and the team for understanding the assignment and giving us the Closer Look special we deserve.
Their due would be most being permanently fired. being a writer was basically just being in daycare for 9 out of 10 writers.
They didn't because it doesn't stop inflation it doesn't stop landlords raising rent mortgages raising rates and or prices of home ownership it doesn't stop taxes Including car insurance homeowners insurance etc

Truth: in this 30 minute ACL return, I have had more genuine laughs than since I was diagnosed with a serious illness less than a month after the strike started! Laughter is really the best medicine. Seth, please don’t go on hiatus anytime soon.
Usually ACL gets 1 chortle out of me (fairly high praise), but this one had me actually LOL several times.
Not sure if I found it funnier, or if I was just Seth starved for months.
But either way, absolutely love it... glad you're back, but even more glad the writers union stuck to their guns.

@@CrowClouds That's a fair response; they had a tentative agreement on September 24th, and the strike was announced to end September 27 at 12:01 a.m. PDT following a vote on September 26th.
The actors' strike is ongoing, so while the writers aren't on strike anymore, actors are still striking.
Though it's worth indicating to the AMPTP how quickly they could resolve the actors' strike if they just negotiated fair offers to them - 3 days is a quick turnaround, for people that anti-union people were commenting that "The writers didn't want to work.".

I HIGHLY recommend Beau of the Fifth Column. Not comedy, but extremely level headed and calming rationality. It's highly cathartic and educational.
May I also suggest Hal Sparks' live TH-cam show. He's on everyday except Sunday. Sometimes 2x a day. He takes clips of RW shows and live factchecks them. He's super intelligent and very funny as one expects from an entertainer.
