  • Today on Project FC3, the 10th Gen Civic Si gets Mishimoto Intercooler Charge Pipes! JP walks us through the install onto our 10th Gen Civic Si shop car! Then we put it on the dyno and Alan sees how much he can pull out of the car now that it has larger piping! How much power do you think the 10th Gen Civic Si gained from this simple mod?????

    Hey brotha I really love how you do these videos and you show like each step I think that super helpful to people like me with this car and need to know how to do it ! Also how did you release the three bolts that exhaust when you removed it from the front pipe . Did you use a power tool ?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! Glad you like them! Yes, I used an impact gun to remove those 3 bolts specifically. But I don't like to use an impact to tighten. I usually hand tighten those.

    I wonder if the charge pipes would become more effective during different heat conditions

    Greetings friend, I want to know if these pipes come with the entrance to be able to put Water methanol on it?

  • @TensorWM
    @TensorWM 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It took me 9 hours total to do the intercooler and piping. It's a huge pain in the ass to put the couplers on the metal pipes but man, definitely worthwhile upgrade.
    I'm a bit jealous the couplers on the end tanks seem like they slid right on. Mine were very very tight and required a good amount of force to get them on all the way

    • @kongxiong6005
      @kongxiong6005 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't use WD? that makes eveything slide right in. not sure if you upgraded your exhaust yet but use some when you do the rubbing mounting.

      @@kongxiong6005 negative. Didn't know that was actually a thing. I'll keep it in mind for the future. 👍🏻

    Does anyone here know by any chance what size or the part number for the honda civic 10th gen radiator mount bushing

  •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So do you guys recommend keeping the stock piping if we are running the stock turbo? Have you guys experienced any lag with or without the pipes?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I would say it's not going to hurt to use either one. There's really no significant difference (at least for us). But they look better in the engine bay and it would be a good supporting mod for further mods.

    Let’s say if I got the mishimoto Inter cooler and the prl cold air intake would I be able to get the racing intake or does the mishimoto need a tune

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you get anything with a different size MAF housing, which is what the PRL Race MAF is, you'll need a tune, regardless of intercooler. If you add an intercooler onto any existing setup, you most likely don't need to tune the car, but you will benefit significantly if you do.

    2018 civic hatchback sport stock,
    Adding the all mishimoto- intake, pipes and cooler... what benefits?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These mods add up to colder charge air temps, and smoother flow, resulting in a much happier, faster car when tuned. You will only really notice cooler charge air temps if you remain on a stock tune.

    Anyone have some feedback, I have a 2019 Civic Si, Mishimoto Intake, Full Race exhaust system, and RV6 Downpipe. It's not going to be tuned. I'm ready to do an intercooler. Any feedback if the piping is really necessary?

    • @TR1_93
      @TR1_93 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably have less hp than this him and he only made about 2whp from this install. You'll likely get same gains as him.

  • @ValkenDnB
    @ValkenDnB 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it worth to get the charge pipes if I’m not trying to put a lot of power in my car? Most I want to do is intake, intercooler, exhaust, downpipe, frontpipe, and ktuner. FBO basically. I doubt I’ll push more than 250whp after that.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not, TBH. But if you want better looking piping, then yes.

    • @ValkenDnB

      @@EdgeAutosport how much boost are you guys running? Curious if the piping will make a difference vs stock piping if you run higher boost?

    I’m having idling issues after install of pipes and intercooler. Any recommendations?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you've got no leaks! Also a tune with that intercooler would be a great idea, might solve that issue at the same time.

      The Knock Control was being too active so we backed it off a tiny bit so it stayed more consistent.
