Vietnam only focuses on some certain sports, wasting millions of dollars and ignoring those who indeed have achieved more gold medals for the country in the international competitions. Nguyen, receiving little attention, could not explore all of his potential, and now since he is 36 years of age, Vietnam basically lost a talent who could have been as remarkable as Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia or Lin Dan of China. Surely, it is going to take years to find another Nguyen.
I watch this clip after seeing a post about him on Facebook. Vietnam Badminton Federation even doesn't want to spend money on him because they think he was too old to "achieve" anything. Even when he was younger, there wasn't much help from VBF, he spent his own money to attend the international campaigns, and didn't have any coach with him in these campaigns. He got married to one of the top women badminton athletes of Vietnam and she was the only "coach" goes with him in international campaigns :(
Talent doesn't mean you're born with it, it's when you spend a lot of time and effort on one thing and turn it into an ability that makes you better than others. So honestly, Tien Minh is a talent.

Each person takes part in the national team and was presenting at international games , alway got the motivating from The federation, olympic Federation, sport goverment , not only the money but also the facilities, chances, ...ect. You might get the wrong information by newspapers . After that competion , the age is not young, the goverment , olympic federation, badminton federation did not focus on him higher than before such as : join international competion, ... . But he still got higest income in the Vietnamede comunity sporter .in fact, Vietnam is not rich country , they had the reason to do that. But He still join Seagames 2013 -2019. he get married . He still play the badminton. And his aim is to join the Olympic tokyo 2021. He is amz . He still is the idols , right !

I watched TM for years and I can see when he was at his best. His speed started to drop since 2012. Despite not making it to semi in 2011, the badminton quality that he played against Peter Gade in 2011 quarter final was better than in 2013. 2009 and 2010 WCs were so tough that even LCW didn't make it to semi.
Gill was bias about the line call. At 56:25, Jorgensen's shot seemed likely out and she said it was in. Then atv1:12:29, TM's shot was more likely to have caught the line and she said it was out.
