LCW is amazing. He is like Messi to me. The G.O.A.T. Unlucky not to win Olympics just like Messi never won WC. But man.. we will miss them when their time is over..
In team sports, you can be excused for not winning "the big one" for obvious reasons. There's no way around it for individual athletes. Their place in the GOAT conversation will depend on how many major titles they've won - in the case of badminton, Olympic and World Championship gold medals. It must be said though that winning the big one in badminton is much more difficult than in tennis because of the lack of opportunities. I can't believe LCW would have zero major titles if there were 4 "majors" per year instead of one.
LCW has won more international titles than any other player. He was the world number one for probably more than 400 weeks, in spite of being banned for some time for negligence. No one could beat that and no one will for a long time. The world ranking is arguably a more complete and balanced metric in measuring a badminton player's greatness. I know LD has a higher head-to-head winning, but hey, just look at their records against Axelsen. LCW:VA=11:3. LD:VA=3:4. So I guess it is merely a matter of perspective with regard to who the real G.O.A.T. is.

To me this is the best ever match for 2018. I have been watching it over and over again (why hasn’t BWF made this downloadable yet 🤔? ). Plus I’m super happy that Gill Clark and Steen Pedersen were the commentators for this match, they are the best combination.
@@kajalrajput7356 For me, Age is actually a barrier in term of speed, skill, stamina, and endurance. But, his fighting spirit covers his entire barriers
Rewatching this. Lcw has done a lot of 400km/h shot in this match. Heck even his average speed is at least 350km/h+ smashes in this match. More than current matches I think. Miss the legend.
Amazed to see Lee C.W. still playing at such a level after all these years. He simply outplayed both Momota and Axelsen in the Malaysian Open, and played with such confidence. Also noted a change, and in fact improvement, in his style since he teamed up with Hendrawan (probably my favorite player in the 80's) as his head coach.
I think if he can beat cancer he should take some extra time to rest his body and concentrate on major competitions like LD did after 2012. He still can compete for world championship title next year. He should learn from great sportsmen like Lin Dan and Roger Federer, age would not be as much an obstacle as long as he has a good strategy in place
Every time I watching this epic final between Lee n Momota, there is something to learn. Lee played very well in the 1st game, although sometimes the net was more friendly to him. This ought to be the only epic battle of the two for Lee became ill shortly after winning this tournament. I would say that he was playing his best here, probably at his peak as he might have felt his health conditions would eventually disappoint him. How lucky we can see a final like this.

Jonanten Cristie never meet LCW in any tournament...so sad
@@hangkebun4965 Very unfortunate 😢😢😢
Momota is not arrogant at all. He is just so cool and zen-like! He is the next Asian super star of badminton!
Liew James Yes!! I don't quite understand why some people call him 'arrogant' 🤔
People seem to hate him because of his gambling addiction a couple of year back, which was deemed illegal and frowned upon in the east. But, come on, gambling is hardly a crime.
Both men played a gentleman's game. I also dun understand the comments either.
absolutely not arrogant. In fact, a sportsman in all field must have somewhat of a personality. I think this is misunderstood.
Yes indeed. That is why he is at the top of badminton now as compared to some other players
King LCW❤️❤️...tears in my eyes what a man what a player what a Legend. Thank you for your services to this beautiful sport. Forever King LCW fan❤️
Lee Chong Wei has the best supporters 🙌🙌 listen to the crowd whenever LCW smashes
I couldn't found the match that are technical and excited without LCW. Love from Malaysia!! Happy Retired!
What a beautiful match, probably one of the most incredible I've seen ... two great champions !
LCW is legendary !
To me this is the best ever match for 2018. I have been watching it over and over again (why hasn’t BWF made this downloadable yet 🤔? ). Plus I’m super happy that Gill Clark and Steen Pedersen were the commentators for this match, they are the best combination.
I year later finally its downloadable 🤗🤗
I miss DLCW playing in court so much, his sportsmanship 😭😭, and everything, the truly hero of Malaysia 🇲🇾😢
1:17:28 .. it painful for the blue shirt.
Lol

A legend..... I love lee chong wei.....love from indonesia

Me too!!
Lee Chong Wei always the world number 1 for me❤️
01.08.21 .. still watching .. i really miss DLCW on the court .. the living legend ..
Lee chong wei is one of the best badminton player of all time 👍👍 greetings from Indonesia
Never thought that this will be the last champion for LCW.
Not bad 35 years old playing at still best
Cayote Lives
Ich liebe Sir LCW er ist hammmmer Spieler
Cayote Lives
LCW Love from Frankfurt/Germany
He is 36 year old But Superstar
He had cancer at that time but he still played well
I think the age is not barrier in the case of lee chong wei
@@kajalrajput7356 For me, Age is actually a barrier in term of speed, skill, stamina, and endurance. But, his fighting spirit covers his entire barriers
Rewatching this. Lcw has done a lot of 400km/h shot in this match. Heck even his average speed is at least 350km/h+ smashes in this match. More than current matches I think. Miss the legend.
This match and the semi final match against Lin Dan, has to be the top 2 best games LCW has ever played.
Kwong Yiu yesssssss at least b4 his retirement he already beat em’ hehe yeahhhhhhh 💪
A real Malaysian super hero! Malaysian Badminton boleh!
let's all hope Dato Lee will recover soon from cancer. KEEP THE FIGHT ON!
Jonathan Tang ,
Nihle Igle
He retired
@@ahlee7472 is there any chance for him to comeback? Just like LYD did
came here just too see another brilliant performance from datuk lee chong wei..miss you legend
Only dato lee can make momota so tired.....
One more man,,lee zi jiaa🇲🇾
All the love and support in the world goes to lee chong wei, but let's not forget about momota who, in no small part, help to bring his opponents to their absolute limits. I never get bored of rewatching this match.
Lee Chong Wei is teaching Momota the arts of badminton - you can't keep up with my speed and plays even if you're 10 years younger
中国人?
bukaan hongkong
@@兴晨 keluarnya hongkong berapa
12 years younger
Didn’t Momota beat LCW twice in 2018 ? You conveniently forgot about it.
Coming.2023..sye dtg tngok plwann datuk..rindu datuk main..best bdmnton ever for chong wei🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Lee Chong Wei is a legend but Kento Momota is an amazing player.
LCW is old now and Kento is still young
Momota has been obsolete. He has been king of R32. I can't believe that the era has belonged to axelsen since the end of 2021
@@wimzswimz9843 well, let's hope that Momota reach again a good form (at least his one before his car accident). It's kinda sad to see him struggle so much in early rounds
Big respect for momota..not arrogant at all 😘🇲🇾
LCW is a true warrior. Congrats to him. Congrats to Malaysia.
This is one of the best badminton match I have ever seen. So thrilling.
Awww Kingston and Terrance are so cute cheering on their dad!
This whole match is an Art. Can't get any better than this.
Great match to watch! The legend LCW vs 2019 best singles player Momota. Love to watch them play!
I was so lucky to live in DLCW era 😉

Two of the best Badminton players of our time. They're best not only in terms of skills, but their humility, sportsmanship, and discipline make them stars....
Kalau dia masih ada.mesti dia masih no 1 dunia😥
ttp beliau dah tua dah ,hampir 40😭
@@爲鹿乃爆肝把 tapi tetap hensem hihi
1h10min for 2 games! It was a battle!!! Well played by both players.
Amazing achievement for LCW!!!
It ended up happy ending for his motherland
Old World No.1 Vs. New World No.1 😀
What a great match after years. Congrats LCW.
Great crowd cheering for his tiger.
LCW is the best player. No one can match the level of his gameplay. This is one of his last tournament before he retired. This one of his best matches. Everyone will miss him. This is his last finals.
Come back to watch this match again. LCW perhaps has the most elegant looking hitting motion n footwork.
Momota came close in that department. Hopefully he regain his form n confidence soon that was badly affected by the accident.
