Just use maelstron when he hits the beach, he stops dead there for a second and nab all wakestones that will fall, then he´ll walk until the scripted part (when he kneels) and ban trophy/ archievement banged in.
There are multiple points set up for you to jump... The developers didn't intend for the arrow method, let alone the medusa method. Magick Archer is just kinda busted for multi-target, and you can do it legit with archer with good spiral arrow hits. Hell, I did it legit as a fighter for laughs, just use those stam restoratives man!
I didn't even try it with magick archer for this, but yeah its super op. Especially if you use that maister skill that takes health away, things just die lol.
They fixed it! For those of you that were unlucky enough to encounter the "invincible last spike" bug (like me) or the bug where it just didn't die even after all the spikes were broken, they fixed it. Now you can just pummel it with magick archer's standard rivet shot attack to defeat it, if you have the dragon's breath magick bow with a couple of upgrades you can even get the achievement easily now. It kinda feels like they lowered the health of the spikes too, could be wrong about this though. I came back for another playthrough and finally got the achievement.
thank you for this, I was going to the volcanic island from the cave path when the event started right at the entrance of the cave in the Bakbatthal region in the campsite. Then i was looking for anything about this event and got to your video, I did try to teleport to bakbattahl to get there, but by the time the giant was already on the beach so yeah rolled back, which the last inn save was indeed at my house in bakbattahl so just fallowed the video. Had to consume 2 items for stamina in the run to get to the giant. First I broke the hand as you jump is it just right there. After that jumped to the body and made my way up. Doing this saves a lot of time. Having items to restore stamina is the best thing here as you don't need to care to wait for it to recover. Make some of that items which recover all your stamina or greatly recover it , 9 of them should be more than enough.
Great guide! I got the achievement this time on my first NG+ run. Gotta give props to the Sorceress pawn with me though. She toasted to last two spikes for me while I was working on the face lol. Thief works very well for this, as you say. I even ran Formless Feint at one point because I got knocked into the brine by a gore harpy. I will say if you do use Formless Feint, buy the upgrade from the Dragonforged. It cuts stam consumption in half! Thanks for the great information!

Except you can progress this Dragons Dogma mission without taking it out yourself and missing the achievements. Bugs are as follows: 1: The giant falls on the beach: Buggs out and wont progress the mission: nothing progresses, hope you saved at an inn recently or your SOL. 2: The giants weak points are destroyed but it continues regardless. Until finished by npcs 3: The Giants weak points except 1 are destroyed: the last weak point (EX; in the ankle) is now invulnerable to damage and the giant progresses till finished by NPCs.
I managed to get the achievement first-time by using Magic Archer and just spam Frosthunter Bolt and Sagittate Avalanche on the stakes on it's body. He literally stopped right after the bridge before the camp, and the achievement was mine. It's really not that hard to do. Even managed to do the exact same feat with Archer vocation. It's really not that hard.
Now if only the damn spikes weren't bugged to hell and back. I tried this several times now and there are always one or two of the spikes that take no damage at all...
I used magic archer my first time cause i loved the magic archer on the first game ,but i might try another way to take it down lol, but for the first time my warrior pawn stayed on it till i reached land fall hitting away at it weak parts while i had to run to catch up after the bridge was destroyed

I was a moron and broke all of his cyrstals expect the one on his ankle by the time he was at the beach and thought he was needed and let him walk all the way until npcs killed him
i used magik archer, charge up martyrs bolt until you have maybe a quarter of your health left make sure you target all of his pylons, and his health is gone before he reaches the shore, if not repeat and he will be, just make sure to bring an allheal or 2 with you,
Your pawn does take out two beam dragons instead of just the one. This way gets you "I hardly knew ya" trophy, and "I Talos" you get later and doesn't matter where the titan falls.
Similar thing happened to me, because I started to get new vocations and wanted tot unlock more augments. I switched to a low vocation right before Gigantus and couldn't do anything except shoot ballista's. 😂
No disrespect to those who dont have this or are struggling but like he says in the beginning it was a "terrible" run but he still achieved it. I did mines not realizing it was even a achievement as an archer dicking around with explosive arrows never even attacked the guy until he was on land. Just really surprised that it has a low player achievement percentage.
F**ca this Thalos… just got a sequence with the false arisen and a few sec later the Gigant comes out of water. If got no idea where he spawned. Got lucky warfare with magic archer at this point.
This fight is an absolute piece of shit and has nothing to do with skill. I died and fell more times during this encounter than I have the entire 165hrs I’ve put into the game absolutely unbelievably annoying as shit. Fell a couple times and he hit me off once. Kept losing my footing and my charecter was animation locked to just hanging on a bunch of times. This was unbelievably annoying and I completely failed the achievement he made it all the way to the end and I honestly wanted to quit the game after my first fall.
So we dont even get to defete the dragon this time? I wasted my money on this game. So over hype just as baldur's gate 😮💨 after ps3 games get so shitty with once a year a good game
Being honest this is the lamest quest in a game in a long time, if you’re a grounded player all you do is just run around and get tired for like half an hour, it’s a snooze fest.

So is using the Medusa head or the unmaking arrow. This is a good way if you want to do it while still having a challenge.
I used Marty's Bolt as it landed on shore. 35% HP sac' killed all the stake things in one 😂

I had 2 sorcerer's and they both got separated top and bottom and both casted maelstrom and just ended the issue.
