I just love to watch these videos of train trips. It's like to be onboard. It's a wonderful way of making a trip without leaving the sofa, while quarantining. Thank you for posting and for the information about this historic railway. Greetings from Southern Brazil!
Wahnsinn !
Wonderful country, everything looks so organized. The drivers of cars know their place and are well trained to stop at signals. When your a well organized country and everyone knows their place and the consequences for not shows that you can run a service like this. No not in the U.S.A. The closest I've seen to this format is in San Francisco California with their cable cars acting like busses. Great country extremely clean. Kudos to the people who keep it that way. Thank you LoriRocks for posting this wonderful segment. I especially love when each town is shown on the screen. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
This is what I love about Swiss railways. There are so many of these branch lines, which are designed with serving the community uppermost, and many of the wayside stations still have sidings and goods yards.
12:48 Small town with a small roundabout...and a RAILWAY going through it! I've never seen this kind of an arrangement before, and it's one of three on this line; the others are at 26:04 and 55:34
I love this line, because it runs on the side of the road or sometimes even on the road, like a tram. The units that run here are narrower than normal trains. It's a unique and interesting line! Thank you for sharing this cab ride.
It's similar to NJ Transit's RiverLINE that operates between the Camden Waterfront (near the Battleship New Jersey) and the Trenton Transportation Center (for Amtrak NEC trains, NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor and SEPTA's Trenton Line commuter trains). Most of the line runs on former Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Line (PRSL) and Conrail trackage, however there is some street-running, especially in Burlington (near the Burlington-Bristol Bridge), with some of the line hugging the banks of the Delaware River between Roebling and Trenton. Biggest difference is that the RiverLINE uses diesel-electric equipment instead of overhead electrical traction.
thank you for sharing these films we completely enjoy them . we noticed there were no trash ie; plastic bags bier cans or newspapers ,even candy wrappers. the suisse people are very litter conscience which is a good thing.

I really enjoy the rides like this on the single track lines through the countryside and small towns. It allows for a chance to see things that you might not see on the mainlines. Thanks for a nice video!

Swiss drivers are not dumb, as the American drivers quite often are! Nice to see that even not so profitable lines are saved. What would be the point of sending all the passengers and freight out on the streets among other cars and lorries and create even more road traffic? Daft I think! Very nice ride btw.
Freight train companies in America make nice profit, trains in Switzerland most likely highly subsidized. In Seon, 2 people boarded and 2 disembarked. At the same time, min 50 passenger cars passed by.
@Velvetblue It's not just in the USA, Velvetblue! Over a year or two, mobile phone addiction will probably kill more people than CoVid-19 around the world. I doubt if they'll come up with a vaccine for it either.
@@peterlj613 Maybe they do not make much money from this train line, but the trains in Switzerland are extremely busy, especially during rush hours. Plus the SBB has partnered up with the ZVV and the SZU and I am sure theyre bringing in a lot of profit too... many people here take public transport over cars due to these smaller connections that can get you basically everywhere in this country, you only need a car if you live in a more remote village, you know for groceries and stuff, but those villages are most probably connected by bus too. Also on the Swiss drivers being good theme, the drivers here are not any better than anywhere else, go by bus and train in the morning and look out the window, every second driver will have his/her phone out. So yeh... This coming from a Swiss citizen from Zurich
Picture postcard perfect. Wish the journey would continue. Merci beaucoup. Liked the analog clocks. I'd hate to know how many vehicles lose control in the winter time and end up on the tracks.... Insane placement. From the amount of trains heading in the opposite direction its no wonder they are losing money on it. They must be offering a train every 30-45 minutes.
