Cab Ride Fehring - Graz (Styria S-Bahn, Austria) train driver's view in 4K

IIn this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view from Fehring to Graz on Styria S-Bahn in Austria in 4K/60 frames per second.
The Styria S-Bahn (German: S-Bahn Steiermark), initially also known as "Graz S-Bahn", is a local transport project that connects the metropolitan area of Graz and the central region of Upper Styria of the Austrian state of Styria. This project has been working since 1998. Commissioning took place on 9 December 2007.
The line S3 Graz - Gleisdorf - Feldbach - Fehring was opened on 12 December 2010 and is opearted by ÖBB.
Completion is scheduled for 2026. In the future, the S-Bahn should provide better connections in 15- or 30-minute intervals as well as air-conditioned and low-floor trains. In 2017, for example, there is an hourly train every sunday between the airport and the city of Graz. The 30-minute clock is maintained by the regional bus service. The attractiveness of rail transport has significantly increased passenger numbers, which is in line with the goal of counteracting the increase in motorized private transport with public transport.

BTW, during the next couple of years, the Styrian Eastern Railway between Graz [AT] and Szentgotthárd [HU] respective the Austrian-Hungarian state border next to Mogersdorf [AT] will be converted for operation by electricity.
By 2028, electrification of about 80 km of line. In 2024 the focus is on planning and on official procedures. The main works are planned from 2026 to 2028. One particular challenge is the only tunnel along the route 39:00. In order to bring the 531-metre-long Laßnitz Tunnel in the Laßnitzhöhe area up to the latest standards, the cross-section must be widened. This is the only way to create space for the technical installations that are necessary for safe and modern railway operations.
The conversion to electricity operation brings numerous advantages for passengers. About 40 railway crossings along the line will be abandoned. This will allow trains to travel faster and more frequently. In sections, the speed can be increased to 160 km/h. From Graz [AT] to Gleisdorf [AT], intervals of 20 minutes or 30 minutes to Fehring [AT] and hourly connections to Szentgotthárd [HU] will be possible during peak hours.
Electrification also means an upgrade for freight transport (gap closure to the network in Hungary). This means that the project is also in the national spotlight.

A small and short line but it gives us the idea of ​​how the landscape of Styria is not only mountainous but full of cultivated hills and valleys. When I was in Graz, I saw the major works at the Hauptbahnhof, as well as the Graz Don Bosco station. The stations are new, well maintained and clean, the Siemens Desiro trains like the Talent or Cityjet are silent trains that respect the environment. A beautiful line. We hope to see more of them in Austria. (the Koflacherbahn for example or the Klagenfurt - Maribor!)
