    Hi,i just subscribed and ive been practicing silat for 2 years now but what you have shown here is simple to understand and easy to follow and not too many channels do that so thanks for the clairity as my only goal is self defense and could you do some videos against more than one attacker as that can happen on the street as the attacker usually has buddies.

    "It looks loke a dance..."
    Actually, it's probably the most useful and versatile macarena i have eve seen. It's also useful to switch a knife from one hand to another.
    As always, it's very similar to and other stuff; the interesting thing is trying to understand why things tend to look in a certain way in a martial art and so on.

    Great explanation of the exchange aka waiter stance.

      I.e Tan sau from wing chun

    • @fredrolph3463
      @fredrolph3463 ปีที่แล้ว

      My knowledge of Wing Chun is limited. In Silat what I call the waiter stance involves 2 hands. The top hand, palm down provides support using the principles of backup, framing, augmentation. Is that the same in tan sau? I went online to see examples and it look to me like the tan sau was primarily a one handed application. Anyway, thanks for pointing out the Wing Chun terminology.

    when you say silat it's the "speed" basically silat is from arnis.indonesian silat or Indonesian Kali the right term for it used karambit maybe for their street fighting but we Filipinos don't used karambit we used 20 inches bolo and we used it for war not in street fighting but some instances occur.

    • @Ace-pt4xg
      @Ace-pt4xg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's no Indonesian kali. Silat is silat, and kali is kali.

    Nice pak sau, tan sau.
    You're saying it's Silat, but it looks a lot like wing chun. I see the wooden dummies, and the butterfly swords too . ;)
    Regardless, great hand skills, and great video.

    "Silat for the Street". Isn't that one of Burton Richardson's programs?

    • @PINNACLECOMBATARTS
      @PINNACLECOMBATARTS  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I believe that is the title of one of his DVD series and books. Burton Richardson is an amazing person and instructor. The material I am teaching is not from any of his programs. This is stuff my step father taught me over 25 years ago. Richard Clear has a DVD series named that as well. I am just sharing my knowledge for free just like everybody else on here.

    Guro Sean I enjoy your videos a lot! This is an old video when you were still heavy. Now you're lean and mean. How did you get from this point to that point? Please advise. I'm trying to lose weight.

    • @PINNACLECOMBATARTS
      @PINNACLECOMBATARTS  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hubud lubud is an important exercise that can be used in Silat, or any style of fighting. It's all about finding exercises to help you adapt during a violent altercation. I hope that helped. Thank you for your support.

    Just saw this great video.
    The biggest problem nowadays especially with video. Armchair athletes don't understand fighting from sports.
    MMA isn't a real fight for your life.
