  • When I first bought this SW9VE I knew it had a horrible trigger, my guess was probably 12-14 lbs and a terrible feel to it.
I installed an Apex spring kit which is the Striker block spring, and trigger return spring. Those helped but the pull was still too heavy, and felt terrible. So I order an MCARBO sears print kit, and installed that. We investigate the trigger pull weight here today.

Yeah, that's a worthwhile improvement. The sd9ve was my first striker fired pistol several years ago. It seemed great to me as I didn't have anything else to compare it to. When the ruger security 9 came out and got all kinds of attention on TH-cam, I was a fairly new guntube viewer and was easily swayed by the hype. I sold the sd9ve and bought one thinking I was upgrading, but I was wrong. The sd9ve shot noticeably better for me than the security 9. I learned to stick with guns I like going forward.

Wise words. I’m sticking with the few I have until I have more experience.

That one black on black was advertised as allied forces for the Iraqi Police department. If you dry fire 5000 times it helps .....alittle. i traded mine off.

My friend at work was surprised when he tried my SD40VE after I had put in apex kit , since we both have the same gun. Then he ordered the same and we replaced his .

Do you know if an SD9 was ever produced with the same kind of sear as the SW9/Sigma models? I was certain I saw SD9's with the same kind of sear as the SW9, but when I looked up parts for them, I couldn't find any evidence that any of them ever had the older style sear. The reason I looked them up though, is because I was going to buy a parts kit for an SD9, but the SD9 had the older style sear which I thought was odd, because all the other SD9's I've seen all had the new kind of sear. I assumed there must have been SD9's produced at one point that had the older style sear. I'm confused to what the point of that would be though.

The old Sigma joke was the Police Unions loved them because it took 3 cops to pull the trigger.

Now if you could really help someone out and find a dovetail mount for a SW9VE he'd really appreciate it. 😏

@@crankygunreviews yes.....I've contacted 1 company and they said that Sigma series guns went through many changes and no company can guarantee a fit into a SW/VE model.

You could have a gun shot try one- or have the slide cut/drilled and tapped for a red dot
