Cranky reviews on Guns, Holsters, Ammo, other things.
The Vintage Marlin 9mm PC Carbine that uses Smith and Wesson magazines. The model 9 Camp Carbine.
The little brother to my Marlin Model 45 Camp Carbine.
This Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine was originally purchased in 1991 for $249 from Service Merchandise. It came with the original box, manual, receipt, 4 shot hunting magazine, and a few Smith and Wesson 59 magazines.
The buffer was destroyed when I got it, looked like crushed peanuts, or cracked up caramel toffee. This gun was used when I got it, was dirty inside, however, it maybe had a couple dozen rounds through it. Cleaned up super easy, and with a new 16.5 lb spring, and a new polyurethane buffer, this carbine is ready to rock and roll.
This is a “why did I want this gun” - the main reason is Paul Harrell. He had a camp 9 in a couple of his old Disaster Contingency videos, and a more recent Ruger PC Carbine video as well. When I had the chance to get the Camp 45, I thought that was it, then a few weeks later, I found this camp nine in excellent shape, I thought about for about an hour, then bought it.

Police trade-in 40 S&W handguns- Glock 22 Gen 2 and Smith and Wesson M&P 40. Still viable?

Bought both of these used for decent prices. Very viable self defense guns, but trusted by law enforcement for decades. I like the history behind Military and Police handguns, and like buying trade-ins if they’re in good shape.

Sig Sauer P320 M17 9mm. Will it unseat the Stoeger STR9 as my new favorite full size 9mm? It’s good!

The modern US military 9mm is really good. Great ergo’s, ambi features, big sights, rail… Can it unseat the Stoeger STR9 as my favorite full size 9mm that I own? It’s a tight race. The Stoeger is about half the price, mags are way cheaper, and besides the ambi features, and no manual safety on the Stoeger, they both can server the same exact purpose. I like them both for different reasons. The ...

The vintage Marlin 45 ACP PC Carbine that uses 1911 magazines. The Model 45 Camp carbine.
มุมมอง 17K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
The Marlin 45 Camp Carbine was made from 1985-1999. I believe it was a bit ahead of its time- people were not really into PC Carbines yet, the Beretta CX4 was one of the others available at the time which was also a weird PC Carbine. This classic uses 1911 magazines which makes it a perfect setup for a Rifle and pistol pairing with a 1911, also makes a good pairing for a same caliber rifle and ...

These are great budget friendly, well made, accurate and reliable rifles. The best ones are the “JM” marked barrels made before the New Jersey gun ban days- they had 22” barrels with 18 1 capacity . Some in the late 80’s and early 90’s had last shot bolt hold opens. The newer “ban” models often still have “JM” marked barrels up into the 1990’s, but have 18” or 18.5” barrels and 14 1 round capac...
Amadeo Rossi S.A. M518 .22LR 6 shot stainless revolver. Well made budget S&W copy from a bygone era

This has been in the bowels of my safe for a while, time to get it out and see the light of day. Not a lot about these online. As near as I can figure this was made during a time when S&W parent company also owned Rossi and Taurus, and there were some crossover pistols between the three brands. Often the Rossi’s are worn out, loose, and the cheapest of the three brands, but this one was a gem. ...
Two Rare-ish Chinese type 56 triangle 26 (Arsenal 296) SKS carbines
มุมมอง 464หลายเดือนก่อน
I have been trying to figure out what exactly I have in these two SKS carbines. They’re both Triangle 26 carbines. The first is a 1960 “Letter series” rifle, I put it in a Russian stock because it had a jungle stock when I got it. Wish I’d kept that stock, it actually fit well. The second appears to be a triangle 26 type 56 carbine from 1973, but it doesn’t add up. Has a pressed and pinned barr...
Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 - an improved Bodyguard 1.0? Or a totally new breed? It’s really good
มุมมอง 1.9K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Comparing the bodyguard 2.0 to the bodyguard 1.0, and doing a review of the 2.0. This gun is a departure from the old 1.0 bodyguard and is a fantastic firearm. It is more a kin to an MNP full-size that has been shrunk down then anything similar to what the bodyguard 1.0 was.

Mine has been near flawless, and shoots really well!
I got a m44 a couple of years ago at a show , came with a sling and 100 rounds of ammo for $160 . The bore was clean , the bolt was a little gummy , but have cleaned it and it runs fine now. These are cool guns and what they have gone through
Dang that’s a good price!
0:47 got a little too close to that shotgun huh! It’s all good I did the same thing with a 12gauge my first time
You caught that huh? Lol

Yeah it’s still deadly
Stuck a 3X Nikon P223 optic on mine (100+ MOA up via turret and 3-stadia ballistic reticle that matches 22 LR trajectory very well to 150 yds.) and intend to use it for a LR pistol shooting comp next year in WY as well as jackrabbits and as a walking prairie dogger. Have used this for years hunting here in CO.
@@sscoyote they’re such nice shooting guns
My buddy has the stoeger strc , got for a great price , it runs well . I've shot the m17 and m18 , and are fine , but I've picked up a cz p07 and it's feels good. I enjoy the the double action
Yeah double action is nice
Mine came with TWO Magazines one 10-round, and one 15-round, and was $270.00. I had some cycling problems with mine. It could have been my fault. Maybe I was limp-wristing it, but it is accurate for sure. I want to put a few more boxes through it. I will see how it does before I say it's great. Liked your video!
@@GoldenClays1 thanks for watching! Mine came with 3 10 round mags cause I’m in Massachusetts- we can only have 10 rounders…
That’s one caliber I never owned, shot or reloaded for. May have to give it a shot
@@lens7859 I’m starting to like 40
It feels kinda high pressure, but it's very controllable if you've shot more than 1000 rounds in your lifetime. I think the 9mm comeback had a lot to do with more female officers. Frankly, my favorite is probably the .45 ACP in a fullsize pistol, but I'm weird like that.
@ I think the 40 is a good compromise between weight, speed, and recoil
I just came here for the "40 is dead! It's literally less powerful than 9MM!!1!1!" comments.
@@SP-wk1en didn’t get many of those lol
I have a M&P 40 gen 1 and love it, it's my go too always reliable
@@E.Rivera it’s very reliable!
I dont know anything about Mozins, but i saw the triangle which is significant on SKS rifles. Is it Chinese?
@@chrislang5659 the triangle with the arrow in it is the Ishvesk arsenal in Russia. Is your SKS has that, you have a Russian SKS which are more desirable to collectors usually.
@crankygunreviews no mines a Norinko. Probably an 80's.
@ interesting- you may be thinking of /26\ or triangle 26- which is Chinese state arsenal 296
@crankygunreviews yes, that's what got my attention! The only knowledge I have came from the Triangle 26 channel. He helped me date the SKS. The only thing I know about the Mosin is, I should have picked one up about 20 years ago!😅
@ check out the Mosin museum channel.
I love getting the LE trade ins
@@TwinGunz if you can look at them before buying, you can find some good deals. And I’m starting to realize why people like glocks so much- they’re simple, easy to upgrade, and they are pretty reliable. A 40S&W with a 9mm barrel makes for light recoil and good accuracy too
Cranky - nothing wrong w/ getting a good price on quality. You shot them both really well!
@@kerino1 thanks! I try to get out a couple times a month, but this year it has been a couple months in between range trips… I’d be a dead ringer if I shot weekly.

Nice comparison and good value on those used powerhouses. Nice shooting too. What was the target distance?
@@stevenr1354 it was either 5 or 7 yards- may have been 7. Can’t recall, I did a lot of shooting that day
Seems like you were trying to make excuses for the S&W M&P, which you prefer, and have more practice with.
@@gracedagostino5231 🤷🏻♂️ maybe…
Funny thing, still carrying an old Gen2 23 off duty. I actually prefer the grip to everything since, including the Gen5's. I don't "like" the Glocks, but I definitely still appreciate the simplicity after all these years. And thats coming from an M&P and Glock armorer. And I also shoot the Glocks better. Good video.
@@ThatMDubyaGuy I have a gen 2 23 as well, I got the 23 and the 22 so I can use 9mm conversion barrels and have basically more guns per frame
Like S&W grip way better 👍 ....
Yeah I agree with that for sure
My Tisas Nightstalker gen3 Duty has a much better grip and ergonomics than both optics cut factory front night sight steel guide rod 1 - 18 round magazine 1 - 20 interchangeable grip panels and backstraps a nice gray cerakote with black accents for 308 dollars new all in a super sturdy hard case with holster and tools the slide action is smooth as butter the trigger is pretty good the takeup for a striker fired 9mm semiautomatic is very short vs any factory trigger out there including Canik and Walther this Tisas PX9 gen3 trigger breaks shorter than the takeup in this Glock it has a straight trigger that breaks at 90 degrees l was super impressed with it that hinged trigger on the S/W I've had a Shield with it not a fan it's not awful but definitely not good in my experience
