@@ghostrider.13 true but when we get an ending they are becoming predictable. I think seeing it reverse would have been unique. This is one of the reasons I don't watch movies at the theater, unless you need the big screen to get the full effect.

Imagine being human and then becoming a machine with the memories and feelings of being human being. Then finding that you are a machine only with memories of human feelings and the senses of loss of a life before you once experienced. How tragic. Great Short, but also a sad outcome.

Rewatching this one is really interesting. The dialogue about the "checkup" and "running out of memory" makes a lot more sense. Seems like at some point in the past she used a drug that caused her to lose focus on a spacewalk and seriously injure herself. I suspect she was saved and given a new body, either by her own wishes, (so she could see her family) or against her wishes (she was that imortant). From then on, she's been trapped on the space station for over 100 years. Sounds like she refuses to get the "upgrade" the Cid guy talks about which will likely wipe her memories, which are becoming unreliable now that she's so old and has so many. As a computer she has an "overdrive" function that seems to replicate the effects of that old drug she took, but also causes her to occasionally relive the horrifying death and rebirth that she endured. Everyone she knows and loves is dead, so she tries to use her addiction to off herself, but she's watched too closely and is brought back each time more damaged than the last. There are lots of details that support these ideas. She only ever hears Cid over a radio, she isn't seen exiting the airlock, she accesses the ship systems directly, she can subconsciouslyaccess audio files stored on the ship's system. It appears that Cid had to emergency shut her down so he could bring her body back inside. He doesn't care for her, has stopped viewing her as human, and treats her like a tool.

Read Here if you caught on or want to know what tricks DUST has up there sleeves, it has something to do Psychology and distortion of reality.
    • The women from the video was always a robot, from the very beginning and what is being shown are simply "Her" memories. You see, the incident she experienced with the exploding spacecraft and her death had already happened before, but not in this timeline.
(My thoughts, it wasn't the womens first time in space, her last expedition failed to result in her death but very sophisticated people brought her back in the form of a robot, however, you can't simply remove peoples memories, at least not yet. I mean, you'd assume if you can bring someone back from the dead, the least you could do is alter peoples memories although im not going to worry about that. Hence the traumatizing experience was left in her memories and was re-experienced, in a way so realistic the individual could not differentiate it from her own imagination which is a common effect of mental illnesses, specifically Schizophrenia. Where a individuals perception of reality is altered by memories and false sensory organ neurological transmissions, this illness must have been downloaded into the robot's mainframe alongside the rest of her brain.
10:15 "How many more times do I have to retrieve you?" meaning it was the first time that she blew into a million pieces because she took her glove off in space resulting in a very powerful vacuum HOWEVER IT WASN't THE FIRST TIME her main server or brain or whatever you want to call the brains of a machine malfunctioned or failed or shutdown.
7:18 , Listen to the background ambiance, sounds like hundreds of voices or distorted sounds playing together at once, idk just more evidence
If you'd like to prove me wrong or right, idc go ahead this was just a lil something I wanted to share and hopefully people have more to add to this theory of mine

    • @mdredheadguy1979
      @mdredheadguy1979 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

lw216316 My guess about the injection is, sometimes when a person needs an organ transplant, they need meds to suppress the bodies natural tendency to reject the new organ.
I would venture a guess that her injections help suppress her mind rejecting her robot body.

We have been raised with the idea that we are not machines - because we have biology versus parts - technology - however in the grand scheme of everything I postulate that we are indeed machines that some advanced consciousness created in order to house the soul - we are machines by way of biological technology that we can now see starting up in its infancy stage right here in front of our holy moly eyes.
you cannot debate that biology or technology created life has one thing in common - shelf life - eventually the battery runs out.
so, when he says at the end "you are a machine" she could look back at him and say "as are you" - advanced consciousness is concerned only with the soul - which does not need machines to exist - however the eventual thought behind it all is - that the two merge - and that the soul manifests into the physical realms with complete unity as an ocean rather than being a raindrop trying to do its own thing.

But the payoff at the end shifted things a bit more to the "sci" side of the equation. All in all, a pleasant way to spend the time...

    Possibly wipe her

''You are not human anymore, you are a machine''.
So true. A human can be so cruel to let out into the space a beautiful cyborg, then close eyes and relax (?!) listening to some garbage music. Or maybe she's cold to him and he doesn't care? Oh, wait, but the story doesn't say so; this way we can do any interpretation we want, like with a bible and some other strange stories...
Filmed nicely, the story is so so.

may I comment on your Bible reference?....it is explained in the Bible that it is not subject to our own private interpretations....meaning - there is one God given meaning and only those who are guided by God as they study will understand that true meaning. It says explicitly that those who do not know God will not understand correctly. I know this to be true from my own experience.

Pretty good, but I wish the audio was a little better mixed because it was really hard to hear without putting my volume to stupid levels.
