I've said this before but I'll gladly say it again. You all did such an incredible job with this, the environments look amazing, the story while simple is very engaging, and it has such an excellent depressing mood thats fitting of the cyberpunk genre
Everything about this is amazing. The world building. The cinematography. The pacing. The soundtrack. The rain. It makes me realize how bad mainstream cinema has become starting in the late 90s.
Why does Blade Runner stands the test of time and never aged? Because it's all practical. As for CGI if used with parsimony to amplify a little bit good practical effects it will also stand the test of time. And "Slice of Life" will go down in time the same way, in 25 years it will still look amazing today as it did when first released. As for this short film, it's a masterpiece on every level, and as a big fan of the Cyberpunk Aesthetic you captured that world, that city and the mood like bosses. Well done.

Masterfully produced, wow! It sure would fit right into the Blade Runner "universe." Do another! Our Hero buys his ticket but has to evade detection and capture for a year after killing a cop...
But the "paradise" is then not what is advertised. In the Alien xenomorph universe, Weyland-Yutani would certainly have such an "offworld" program, and would advertise the new colony exactly like that, nevermind what lurks beneath the dark of the night...

That 80s vibe of cinematic glory just came back to me...thanks guys
¨Thanks a lot! 😉❤
Simplesmente perfeito!
Its really sad that this video still hasnt hit a million views. I always come back to watch it when i hit a creative block
Thanks a lot!!!
Such great story telling. Well done. It all comes together perfectly!
Thanks so much dear Knarb!!! ;D
The production is spotless and the knowledge in the old craft of making sci-fi movies....but the script and the story are absolute crap.
Long Boring scenes that have nothing to do with short movies.
This whole thing could be told in 10 min short not 25.
Again the tech is amazing but that is the problem today .No good writers
I was involved in the same style of production but computer generated animation. It took years to be made but the script and the story were complete crap.
These movies got awards for looks .
I wanna watch movies for the idea not for the effects.
@@EPICSOUNDTRAX The film was paced just right.
@@mardus_ee no it was not .
It was overblown nonsense.
You can say a lot with less.
The production was pure magic
But one thing in the real cinema is
You need more than effects to make a great movie
The guys form the special effects are a dream team
The script and the director
Not so much.
My opinion.
@@EPICSOUNDTRAX "More than effects" were there all along; the script and the director were excellent. It's okay, if it wasn't to your taste.
excellent film! I love the classic Casio watch at 3:29! That model has been around for a while and it still looks "futuristic", in my opinion!
My fucking god this was incredible. The cinematography. The use of miniatures. The over all feel you’ve knocked it out the park man. Very cool stuff👀
Happy to hear that! Thanks :D
@@sliceoflifefilm anytime my man. Looking forward to seeing what work you put out in the future👍🏼
Incredible. Especially if you've seen how it was made! No money, all love...
Begins at 0:24
That electric guitar solo after the fight was 10/10!!!! Definitely added a modern taste to this relatable Sci-Fi, Great work!
WOW! Such a great story I want to see more. I can only imagine what the fellow does to survive.
Thanks for watching!
Love the Bladerunner references. He even goes to the White Dragon noodle bar! 😊
Watch it in the dark, it belongs to the dark.....
dark, dark world of Bladerunner.
One of the lost stories found its way back to life!
Well done!
This was the best use of less money (other than Godzilla Minus One) I have ever seen. The effects, the CG, tremendous acting and strong message, just fantastic all the way around. I was impressed when I saw they had rats in it because that usually means a wrangler, a bigger budget type of element. This would fit right in with so many huge budget sci fi films. Please, keep doing what you did here!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great short! Thanks for uploading. Cheers from Acapulco.
I want to see a movie like this wherein the guy makes it, you know? Great job of production to make this movie look fantastic!!!
I had no idea that this was "low-budget" until it was over and was reading the comments. For real. Bravo.
Thank you! 😉
Eight minutes in, I felt as if I'd seen a sizeable amount of a long movie, with an intricate plot, human drama, hopes and dreams.
Much appreciated!
@@sliceoflifefilm Yeah, keep up the good work, and don't let the detractors derail you : )
