yo, Bowser lab monster here, lots of good info in there but there are also a few inaccuracies i'd like to point out and correct, and some clarifications on some stuff that happened throughout the vid: The main thing to correct is about the Armor. There's a looooot of misinfo floating around about how armor works in general and what are the types of armor and whatnot, it's a nightmare, so i'll do my best to explain how it works for Bowser's attacks at least. There are 3 main types of armor in this game, - Super Armor, it's armor that doesn't break. - Damage based Armor (or Damage Armor), only moves that deal enough damage break the armor. - Knockback based Armor (of KB Armor), only moves that deal enough knockback break the armor. (Heavy armor is an old term that actually means nothing in this game, some folks use it to mean any armor that can break but it's misleading and there's no actual definition for it that apply in Ultimate.) Tough Guy is KB Armor, which is why rapidjabs can't break it, but some rapidjabs will start breaking this armor with enough rage or when Bowser has enough percent, because they'll start dealing more KB. Bowser's Tilts and Smash attacks all have Damage Armor, any move that deals more than 4% will break the Tilt's armor, 8% for Up and DSmash, and 10% for FSmash. There's no Super Armor in Bowser's kit whatsoever, there would be blood in the streets if Bowser actually had Super Armor on his smashes. However, UpSmash and FSmash have invincibility frames on the Shell and on the Feet respectively when the hitboxes are active, this might be why some folks think it's Super Armor. 3:55 DAir has actually no invulnerability on it, the reason there's some blue in the UFD gif is because his limbs are intangible while they're tucked away in his shell, the rest of his body is completely vulnerable! 5:30 You can just hit or grab Hero during magic burst and it'll cancel the whole explosion, the spell is almost completely useless against Bowser. 9:00 It's actually the tilt's armor, not Tough Guy. 12:00 What you said about UpB is 100% correct, you need to wait before you mash to get max height, tho an important note is that mashing at the end only makes it so UpB goes slightly higher, and you're more often better off not trying to mash at all. In this scenario it looks like you would've been able to grab the ledge if you didn't mash. 12:05 yeah that's a known issue, if you get the zoom with DAir or DownB it's possible for Bowser to land during the zoom and for the shockwave to connect with the opponent, that weaker shockwave actually connecting is why he didn't fly as high as he should've. That's all, i think. Pretty much everything in the vid is correct aside from the few points i mentioned!
As a Bowser main, thanks for this. That last one, I feel no one knows about unless you actually main the Big Turtle. I hate landing that move above 100% and it sending nowhere. Probably more broken than Sonic’s up air and Falco’s up tilt and up smash, but never talked about.

Some more interesting things about bowser (from a bowser main): He has the longest ledge attack in the game. I can't tell you how many times I've hit someone who was charging a smash attack while they thought they were out of range of my big meaty claw from the ledge. It's actually absurd. Bowser's tough guy is based on knockback, so some rapid jabs will break it at very high percents because they do just barely enough knockback to break it. On the other hand, tilts and smash attacks have damage-based heavy armor. Each one has a fixed percentage of damage that it can tank. Each tilt can tank 4%, dsmash and usmash tank 8%, and fsmash tanks 10%. This is affected by the 1v1 multiplier. Also usmash has shell invincibility and fsmash has leg invincibility. Dair and down b both have a splash hitbox. Dair especially benefits, as a lot of people try to space around the landing but get hit anyway. However, this can cause some jank. At 12:08 Larry hit the strong hit of down b, but then for some reason the splash hitbox also hit afterwards. This is why he got the fake kill screen (you can even hear the sound of the splash hitbox connecting after the kill screen). There's a clip somewhere of LeoN hitting a dair onstage at kill percent, getting the kill screen, and then the splash hitbox connected and they got sent nowhere.
I found this out when I was playing against my friend and he magic bursted me, when I side bd him he looked me dead in the eye straight faced and said "that's fucking bullshit you better bowsercide so I can win" I won the game

3:00 Bowser can even survive his own Side-B off stage in a ditto match on every legal stage except battlefield, small battlefield, and FD (provided you're good at mashing)

Fox-Bowser is one of my favorite matchups in the game as a Bowser player. Either player can just die at any moment and neither player is ever truly out of the game

Bowser is a walking 50/50. Bowser main since smash 4. He’s got such a heavy comeback mechanic by just being so heavy and strong that he honestly only has about 3 MUs online that are bad bad and 5 or 6 offline.
A super heavy should be slow, die late, be good at trading, and have a decent amount of hyper-armor skills. But apparently they also have to be juggle food, get trapped in their shields, be polarized to about 2 neutral options, have nearly no confirms, and boast the most easily-gimped recoveries in game. I love heavies in fighters, and there's not a super-heavy in this game I don't have a blast playing.. But when I started getting serious about the game I dropped em all. Bowsers the only super-heavy thats somewhat well-rounded and its extremely obvious beyond the casual or wifi level.

I like your video but i can't with this one, there is so much misinformation : - no bowser breath doesn't deal 40% unless you do nothing, DI alone is enough to only take 25-30% (with SDI you can go down to 15-20%) and yeah if you get hit by this this close, you deserve those 30%. - no bowser's smash doesn't have super armor but heavy armor (8% for Dsmash and Usmash, 10% for Fsmash), wich is really different and much weaker. - he doesn't have any move safe on shield, jab is -9 and fair -10. - his recovery is good in term of distance but that's all, otherwise it sucks, the move itself is very linear and predictible, you don't even need a disjoint to hit it. - yes his side B is strong af but it has a strange blindspot if your opponent is too close. Also almost all character on most stage (not BF) won't die from a suicide sideB since they can juste jump and upB to survive.
12:07 Bowser Bomb's hitboxes near the his sides are spike hitboxes. Because he did that move on another Bowser (who has a large hitbox) he got the spike hitbox. Basically, use Bowser Bomb while ledge guarding against large characters, but don't try to kill them on stage with it.
As a bowser main, great video, just want to point out dair and down b both have a spike but only on the beginning of the move, also in the mirror bowser can live the bowsercide but it is really hard, a user called phy has a video on it
some other things about bowser is he can jab into grab at low percents fair into grab at low to mid percents up throw is combo throw can lead to any aerial depending on di with no di its fair down b snaps to the ledge so thats a good option to just recover or get some cheese with down b spike side b out of sheild is very good mix up from up b because if they adapt and just sheild it you start doing side b jab 1 into down b is a pretty good sheild option but wouldnt do too much and lastly down throw is a good option rack up damage and just get them off stage
And people want characters like R.O.B. to be nerfed first when this character (who is not just the heaviest, but also the fastest and strongest super heavy) is very unhealthy for the meta. Any top tier that isn't Pika can lose to Bowser simply because of how fucking overtuned he is.
Fun thing to note about Bowser’s FAir, Bowser and Ganondorf had similar FAirs in Smash 4. Bowser’s was buffed, Ganondorf’s was nerfed. Ganondorf’s used to cover above then below him, now it only covers the upper right quarter circle of him. Meanwhile Bowser’s now covers a half circle and is disjointed. Funny how that works, isn’t it? Balance team really messed up
Bowsers down b is weight dependant. It scales to the weight difference between the characters and since it was another bowser the launch wasn't alot even at high percent

As an Olimar main, I HATE BOWSER!!! Olimar's only kill confirms are his smash attacks so I get Bowser to like 150%, AND THEN HE KO'S ME AT 70%! Not to mention he's SO fast for a heavy character. I don't know how it is for other people, but as an Olimar, Bowser is my most hated character. I could go on.

Bowser is the "little brother easy character" when someone don't know how to play they use him and even while being the most dogshit person on heart when the subject is playing smash they will do something no matter what.
Down air isn't completely invulnerable, (my amiibo found this out the hard way) but it might as well be. Plus, it also causes a short distance impact shock. Not that powerful but can be useful for stopping smash attack punishes.

If you're close enough when Hero does the Magic Burst, you can also interrupt him out of it with a grab or even a fast enough smash.
It upsets me far more than it should would people call bowser's tilt and smash armor his Tough Guy.

You can keep F-airing them, conditioning them to shield. Then go for a short hop down B to break their shield.

Grounded Down-B guarantees a shield break if all hits connect.
I like your video but i can't with this one, there is so much misinformation :
- no bowser breath doesn't deal 40% unless you do nothing, DI alone is enough to only take 25-30% (with SDI you can go down to 15-20%) and yeah if you get hit by this this close, you deserve those 30%.
- no bowser's smash doesn't have super armor but heavy armor (8% for Dsmash and Usmash, 10% for Fsmash), wich is really different and much weaker.
- he doesn't have any move safe on shield, jab is -9 and fair -10.
- his recovery is good in term of distance but that's all, otherwise it sucks, the move itself is very linear and predictible, you don't even need a disjoint to hit it.
- yes his side B is strong af but it has a strange blindspot if your opponent is too close. Also almost all character on most stage (not BF) won't die from a suicide sideB since they can juste jump and upB to survive.

12:07 Bowser Bomb's hitboxes near the his sides are spike hitboxes. Because he did that move on another Bowser (who has a large hitbox) he got the spike hitbox.
Basically, use Bowser Bomb while ledge guarding against large characters, but don't try to kill them on stage with it.

As a bowser main, great video, just want to point out dair and down b both have a spike but only on the beginning of the move, also in the mirror bowser can live the bowsercide but it is really hard, a user called phy has a video on it

some other things about bowser is he can jab into grab at low percents
fair into grab at low to mid percents
up throw is combo throw can lead to any aerial depending on di with no di its fair
down b snaps to the ledge so thats a good option to just recover or get some cheese with down b spike
side b out of sheild is very good mix up from up b because if they adapt and just sheild it you start doing side b
jab 1 into down b is a pretty good sheild option but wouldnt do too much
and lastly down throw is a good option rack up damage and just get them off stage
In other games it was hard to say. In ultimate bowser is easily the best. His punish game is good . Dk is more fun to play though

Fun thing to note about Bowser’s FAir, Bowser and Ganondorf had similar FAirs in Smash 4. Bowser’s was buffed, Ganondorf’s was nerfed. Ganondorf’s used to cover above then below him, now it only covers the upper right quarter circle of him. Meanwhile Bowser’s now covers a half circle and is disjointed. Funny how that works, isn’t it? Balance team really messed up

At 12:07 the reason the other bowser didn't go far was because of he got hit by the strong spike hitbox and then the weak hitbox immediately after
incineroar is underrated. i think his combo game is sick, and his out-of-shield options are more varied than bowser’s

Bowsers down b is weight dependant. It scales to the weight difference between the characters and since it was another bowser the launch wasn't alot even at high percent

As an Olimar main, I HATE BOWSER!!! Olimar's only kill confirms are his smash attacks so I get Bowser to like 150%, AND THEN HE KO'S ME AT 70%! Not to mention he's SO fast for a heavy character. I don't know how it is for other people, but as an Olimar, Bowser is my most hated character. I could go on.

Also want to point out. The entire shell of up smash is invincible while he is attacking. You can not lose a trade with that move
Bowsers down b has a large spike hit box meaning against really big characters it will hit that hitbox despite being on the ground
Bowser is the "little brother easy character" when someone don't know how to play they use him and even while being the most dogshit person on heart when the subject is playing smash they will do something no matter what.

Down air isn't completely invulnerable, (my amiibo found this out the hard way) but it might as well be. Plus, it also causes a short distance impact shock. Not that powerful but can be useful for stopping smash attack punishes.
