    Yummoh! That looks SO good! Every summer we go organic blueberry picking in Michigan. I can see having this as a summer tradition. Will have to settle for store bought this time of year, but surely it can't wait until summer :)

    Ooh! I love the idea of blueberry but will likely save for a summer pie. I've got granny smiths at home and will try this crust, filling & crumble with those apples. Like the mashed sweet potato idea. Thanks!

    We went to a community Thanksgiving dinner last week, where everyone was asked to bring a side dish or dessert. We brought both the blueberry pie and blueberry bars. I told the person in charge they were gluten and sugar free, and they put them on a table by themselves with signs that said they were gluten free and sugar free. Needless to say there were lots of desserts there, and the only people that ate ours were myself, my wife, and a friend who we guilted into having some. We ended up taking it all home. No problem. Their loss. More for us.

    Yum! Great recipe! Do you think I could get away with using half triple Berry mix and half blueberries and not have too much liquid as long as I make sure it’s the same thickness as what you show? I will try it! So excited that you keep things gluten free! Thank you!

    Hi Jill, is it possible to use a flour that isn’t nuts or seeds? Would oat flour or millet flour work or is texture of almonds important? Thanks

    • @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow
      @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really needs the fat from the nuts. I have made it with oats before but it is pretty barky. Tiger nut( which is actually not a nut) flour or lupin flour might work though.

    Jill, blueberry pie is my favorite...thank you! And it's gf which I so appreciate (Celiac disease). We cannot get Hannah or Jersey White sweet potatoes here. Would a Japanese sweet potato work? Sometimes they are quite dense and dry.

    I have chronic kidney disease and am eating vegan. I would love to try one of your pies, but almonds and almond flour can be a problem due to high phosphorous and potassium content. Any idea if tiger nut flour would work?

  • @NameWithheld-nm1es
    @NameWithheld-nm1es ปีที่แล้ว

    I really don't like almond flavor. Is there a good alternative to almond flour? Would oat flour work just as well for the pie crust?

    • @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow
      @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use cashew flour. It really needs to be something that has fat in it. Just using oats makes a barky crust

    Would it be possible to use ordinary potatoes and add a sweetener like date syrup or something similar?

    • @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow
      @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would use maybe a tablespoon of date syrup

      If you can find a Whole Foods, Nugget, or maybe Sprouts, they often have them. The skins can be a beige, or in the case of Japanese, the skin is purple/burgundy. They are so good!
