    My molds are from Wilton .....
    2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1/8 teaspoons salt
    2/3 cups of powder sugar
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 cup butter room temperature
    In a large bowl cream butter till smooth beat in powder sugar and vanilla.
    Slowly add dry ingredients till all combined...
    Dough should not be sticky just soft ( If it's sticky add 1/4 cup flour)
    Spray molds and dust with flour
    Mold cookie dough into molds pressing down into the mold
    Poke fork marks into cookie
    Bake in molds at 325 for 30-35 minutes if you only have one mold carefully remove cookie from mold and place on a lightly sprayed cookie sheet, Baking without a mold will be shorter timing check 20-25 or so. If you choose you can make a bar out of dough and slice into pieces and bake.... (Optional) Dip end of baked cooled cookie into melted chocolate place on paper to harden. Place hot molds on cooling rack for 15 minutes then remove cookie carefully

    Trying these now. The dough tastes great, I got enough to fill nine brown bag cookie molds that were all heart shape. Fingers crossed they come out of the mold ok after cooking down!

    I recently bought some cookie mold. I need to clean them, well wash them before I use them today. What's a best method to wash them and use them on the same day?

    • @thomasplace
      @thomasplace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wash with hot water and use provided scraper to remove food particles. Washing with soap will not ruin your stone, just be sure to wash throughly with hot water to remove any soap residue. The reason you don’t want to use soap is that the soap attaches to the oils and breaks them down and removes them from your stone. I always wait overnight to use mine after cleaning.

    Are those brown bag cookie molds? I just got two of them on amazon and the recipe book says don't cook your cookie in them take them out and cook them on a cookie sheet. I have seen everyone cooking in the molds but maybe they are not the brown bag brand of molds.

      I have always baked them in a Stoneware mold if it's good enough for Martha Stewart, I love her baking tips and her recipes....Thanks for watching...😃

      I know this is an old video but for anyone watching now...You aren't suppose to bake in brown bag cookie molds but can bake in the larger shortbread pans. This is manufacturer directions for a reason as they are made thinner then the pans and can crack. I've actually even see the larger shortbread pans crack in half too so if you love your BB molds please don't bake in them.

    It`s 2022 and just found you, do you put the molds directly on the oven racks or on a cookie sheet?

    • @thomasplace

    I haa as be some John Wright cast iron molds. Just wondering if that changes the recipe or not?

    • @thomasplace
      @thomasplace  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cast iron molds can be used to make cookies, it is important to keep in mind that the texture and appearance of the cookies may differ from those made with ceramic molds. It is also important to note that the type of mold used can affect the baking time and temperature, so it is important to follow the recipe instructions carefully. I would suggest looking up a shortbread John Wright recipe and compare. Then decide if you want to use my recipe.

    Have never used ceramic cookie molds, and I was wondering if they have to be same shape, as well as same approximate size?

    • @thomasplace
      @thomasplace  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      While the first molds were made of carved wood, today they are produced by specialty cookware and bake ware manufacturers in plastic, metal, terra cotta, resin, silicon, cast iron, and ceramic. Successful molded cookies begin with proper cookie dough consistency. The best recipes produce a firm dough that is easy to work (so that it can be imprinted by a stamp or rolling pin) but not too sticky (or the cookie surfaces will not be smooth.) Not quite sure of the question but I hope this helps.. Thanks for watching....

    Hi can you please clarify powered sugar, is it icing sugar or castor sugar?

    • @thomasplace
      @thomasplace  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Powdered sugar, also called confectioners' sugar or icing sugar, is a finely ground sugar produced by milling granulated sugar into a powdered state. It usually contains a small amount of anti-caking agent to prevent clumping and improve flow.

    Thank you for making this video. Looking forward to trying your recipe in my molds. I would like to have seen one being removed from the mold after baking. Do they come out of the mold easily after cooling them on the wire rack for 10-15 min?

    • @thomasplace
      @thomasplace  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +rebeccasewing Yes, they come out beautifully ... Make sure to spray and dust with flour and it should be a snap... Let hot molds sit on cooling rack, as suggested in directions below video. . Thanks for taking the time to watch and write...:)

    • @thomasplace

      They take a special dough that can stand up to being released from the molds. I only use this recipe and it works awesome...
