Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better. Ask your local transportation planner and elected officials to support more protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be riding a bicycle to school and not be driven in a minivan.

When I was an activities, Director in long-term care, I had two people who had brain damage after surgery. When I had surgery for a broken wrist, and it did not go well, and I realize that I could no longer remember the names of the streets in my neighborhood. But I could drive in my neighborhood. And because my daughter is a post anesthesia nurse, we both kind of agreed that surgery could create that kind of brain damage. I have been to a neurologist, my cognitive function passes for just fine, but I am having to relearn the names and geography of places that I do not travel often in my city

Do not know if this applies here but at least 15 years ago I heard that going under anesthesia is VERY risky and can cause brain and memory issues. A doctor laughed at me when I said that. Each time you go under it can take more of your brain capacity. This doesn't seem to be talked about!

Dr. Human’s videos are outstanding. Not sure WHERE I can email that I want to locate the video he did w/Dr. Amen as his guest, dated mid-April that discussed how THC is so over the limits of safe amounts as it was in the 1970s when Dr. Amen was in medical
    school.
He stated that those w/depression & anxiety or any DNA of mood disorders in their family should not take marijuana gummies as they can suffer a psychotic episode. Hence, HEMP gummies w/3% THC would be the
beneficial product these individuals could take effectively.
If anyone knows how I can locate this April 2023 video of Dr. Hyman interviewing Dr. Amen, I would appreciate it. I have been
trying to inform others, & finding several have experienced psychotic episodes by taking
MJ gummies w/the excessive THC content & they’re having depression or a mood disorder.

The well-known affiliate hospital of the Mayo Clinic, Augusta Health, writes about how farmed salmon should only be eaten at a maximum of once every two months (and in only a small 4 oz portion) due to the high levels of the so called “forever chemicals” known as PCBs. They do not ever break down and they often stay trapped in the body for life so this is why they’re called forever chemicals and this is why a lot of experts in organizations like Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals warn about farmed salmon. Wild caught salmon is much cleaner so I’ve heard experts recommend a 4 oz serving about twice a week or twice a month depending on who it is. I wish the PCB’s were not so abundant. It’s really staggering.
I came across a study on wild salmon in Patagonia (one of the most remote regions in the world) where they lab tested the pollutants in the fish. Per gram of wet weight these fish had POPs and PCBs ranging between 78 and 25.5 ng g(-1) wet weight and for PBDEs ranging between 272 and 1046 pg. They said this very similar to the lab tests of wild salmon in the northern hemisphere. You can imagine how that bioaccumulates over time as it doesn’t really flush out of the system.
In the north of Canada the Inuit live in some of the most regions in the world off of wild seal meat. They lab tested the Inuit and found they have PCBs in their bodies that are off the charts and they found the older these people got, the higher the levels of PCBs became demonstrating the bioaccumulation of these compounds over time.

My suggestion is get evaluated by a doctor trained in the Bredesen protocol. How old is she? If she is post menopausal and had an estrogen positive breast tumor she may be on aromatase inhibitors which lowers estrogen to almost nothing and low estrogen will affect memory.

Going under anesthesia during surgery is not good for your brain. Numerous surgeries may be to blame?

Vegan won't help when you are ingesting chemicals from both food and water. Did you know that municipal water does not filter out pesticides and plastics? They don't have to, so they don't.

Dr. Amen , thanks for your persistence ( despite considerable opposition) in bringing brain imaging to the field of psychiatry.
