    I made this drink (with little more gin and a little less lemon and blood orange juice, adding blood orange juice to my preferred Bee's Knees recipe), and it was very enjoyable. I'm not always a fan of lemon juice, but I do like the Bee's Knees. I had a blood orange in the fruit bowl, so this was the perfect cocktail video for me.

      @@BarTalkCocktails okay give me your best book suggestion for an aspiring barman !!

    • @BarTalkCocktails

      @@thescotchspot6302 There are so many to choose from. Hmm... Some are great reference books, some require exclusive ingredients that are hard to find, and some are very scientific. For an aspiring barman, and for having 500 recipes to learn, is "The Craft of the Cocktail" by Dale Degroff. It has some vintage recipes, tried-and-true classics and some originals. It also has a section on setting up a bar, as well as techniques and tools. I think this recipe book is a great place to start. Cheers!

    I always sub for Blood Orange where possible (and when possible - it’s so damn seasonal). Btw, in Spanish we also say “bebo” as a form of drink. I’ve never had the Bebbo. Definitely want to try that! Another great video Bruce! 🥃

      *...“bebo” as a form of drink?...*
      What my confused man here is trying to say is that the word _"bebo"_ literally means _"I drink"_ in Spanish.

    • @BarTalkCocktails
      @BarTalkCocktails  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sounds divine. According to Viv my producer, bebo also means I drink in Portuguese.

    Hmm, Bebbo looks suspiciously like the Bee's Knees in my 1930 drink mixer guide called "Swallows." Love that you're using blood orange, though, for that lovely hue! And blood oranges are awesome, taste-wise, as well.

    • @BarTalkCocktails
      @BarTalkCocktails  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blood oranges are delicious. It's too bad they're seasonal. Mind you, if they were around all the time I might not appreciate them as much. Blood oranges in a Bebbo are marvellous. I hope you make one. Thanks for your continued support. Cheers, Jane.

    hi Mr Bruce enjoy your videos a lot. Thank you for all you do. Do you ever make your own honey liqueur? seen recipes for it with grain alcohol and want to know your opinion homemade vs store bought honey liqueur. can you recommend a brand or a recipe? . Also do you bartend anywhere? Maybe my wife and me can plan destination vacation where you serve cheers!

    • @BarTalkCocktails
      @BarTalkCocktails  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never made my own honey liqueur, but I'll have to think about doing just that. Thanks for the suggestion. My favourite honey liqueur is called Bronte. It's out of England and combines blackberry and sloe berries with honey and jasmine. It is probably one of the best honey liqueurs I've ever tried. It's slightly syrupy and has a good balance between honeyed sweetness, clove, and pepper. The sloe and blackberry flavours are underlying softly in the background. Unfortunately, it's unavailable where I live. Cheers!
