Wow the Peryton has some amazingly creepy lore and artwork. These could make for a great starting nemesis character or tribe for an Aarakocra player character. (Especially if they start out with broken wings from a previous battle to ease your DM’s fear of a flying PC)
I don’t know if you guys are beer drinkers but the is a brewery named Ogopogo in San Gabriel CA, where the theme is mythological creatures and they have a beer called peryton go check it out
real quick when your petrified you have resistance to all damage which I think A vulnerable bludgeoning and force and regular damage from psychic and maybe immunity to fire damage I know its off topic but I thought of that while I was going to say Great vid :O
I love Rocs what you see is what you get but that doesn’t mean it’s a ...featherweight.. It’s a big af bird. Terrified my players with a pair of them a while back. xD
My coworker and his wife worshipped “Thoron,” his late brother’s cleric deity. I made it the roc familiar of an elven goddess in a post-apocalypse Seven Heavens setting. It avenged my coworker and his wife when they (and my friend) got themselves killed in a thorn maze on a wintry hill.
I agree with Will. Ilmater is all about the relief of suffering, so I very much doubt that he'd take part in creating a creature that preys upon human hearts. That's more of an evil god thing.
I have liked and commented! I continue to serve the avian dungeoncast! Good to see you again milords, it's good to see you again, especially after last week's incident. We're actually doing much better than you'd think right now. I was unconscious so I didn't see any of it, and I'm still not sure I believe it myself, but the citizens claim a roc was flying overhead and that it swooped down to devour the shadows. I-I frankly don't even know how that's possible. It shouldn't even be able to do that, it's just a big dumb bird. How can it eat a ghostly undead creature such as a shadow? I mean I guess I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, after all things would have been much worse had it not shown up. It did however cause some...collateral damage to a few unfortunate souls roof tops, though we were going to have to rebuild a large amount of the city anyway. So I suppose it's not the worse thing that could have happened. At least a perryton didn't show up, those things are...ghastly to say the least, and I wouldn't have been able to fight back against it either in my condition. I've been out of commission due to my injuries. The local priestesses have been seeing to my wounds, I need to heal up as soon as possible. There's lots of evil out there and once again we are in a very vulnerable state. Why does this keep happening...anyway see you next week good lords of knowledge and laughter! Ok I just want to address this now, wtf is wrong with deities in dnd and mythology? What absolute genius of a deity like ilmater says "hmm, you know you've done stuff I don't like. I'll make you a bloody thirsty homicidal monster!" Seriously isn't ilmater supposed to want people to avoid suffering? Why would he create monsters that have to survive by causing others suffering? I question the writers of the lore on that one. Seriously it's as dumb as the gorgons in Greek mythology! Seriously because medusa is vain the gods deem it necessary to punish the rest of us by giving her the supernatural ability to turn people to stone? W. T. F. Not much else to say, though about this week's bit ill say I decided on a slightly more humorous approach because I couldn't think of anyway to write the story in a serious way and have it be good. It would have been like "oh look the paladin through sheer force of will recovers and saves the day!" Which felt to predictable. Otherwise if everyone just died to the shadows I would have no clue as to how to continue this weekly ongoing story. So even though I highly doubt a roc could eat a shadow, that is how it happens in my version of the story. Anywho, have a good day.
Anybody else notice that one of Brian’s feathery slippies was the size of a house and the other cast a shadow of a foot despite it looking like a slippy? Odd slippies indeed.
Funnily enough I just introduced Perytons (one of my favourite monstrosities btw) to my Frostmaiden group. (SPOILERS BELOW) And there is also a Roc in it. Auril rides it when casting her everlasting winter magic.
This episode Rocs guys! I can tell you put a Peryton of work into the show!
Love the puns! Also my name is pretty fitting for this episode
Had some problems finding this today, but looking forward to it! Was just about to homebrew some roc ideas, so this is quite fortuitous!
The fact that ashen isn't here rocs my world.
@@DragonGunzDorian harpies used to be my favorite airborne horror, but now they can eat their heart out
@@mcswaggerduff8946 I have a feeling perrytons would make excellent fencers. They'd PARRY a TON.

Zakkaran Roc: fantasy Boeing 747
My friends went up against an archmage who cast true polymorph on himself so he technically was a Roc *and* a Guy
Get into the Rocs big meaty claws!
I had a redemption paladin that’s mount was a peryton. His name was Frederick he was a good boy.
Excellent episode as always guys keep it up and shout out to demogorgon!👍
Also could you guys do Tomb trappers sometime since there in 5e now?
"I know, and I hate apple products" LOL
I listen to you guys on my phone's speaker while I'm cycling. So I guess you could say it's been the Year of The Big Thigh.
The mentioning of the Roc regulating the food chain has inspired me to make a D&D food chain for the different areas of my world!
Oh yeah! Literally just came from the manitcore and chimera episode where u were talking about these guys. Good job!

When your worming on a druid subclass becoming a roc and your favourite channel comes through again!!!

Ah The Roc, The Kaiju bird Rodan before Rodan was a thing! Lols.

About 9:10 : There is always a bigger fish.
Neat! Always love this show for ideas.
20:07 I am Lmfao right now 😂😂😂

I mentioned the peryton to my DM, our party is 2 lvl 2 characters so this auto be fun.
You guys could really use a picture of the monsters you talk about. Thats the only thing missing from these awesome videos
I have a question about the Roc, and hes cooking?
Funnily enough I just introduced Perytons (one of my favourite monstrosities btw) to my Frostmaiden group. (SPOILERS BELOW)

Is there a reason there is about 15 min off nothing after the episode?
So a roc is bigger than the canon tarrasque, just saying
Leshay? as a possible video?
