The "ae" is derived from the old English letter "æ" which makes a sounds that's a combination of the short "a" and "e" sounds, so the word "Gaes" would be pronounced roughly the same as "guess," as it is in the newest Yu-gi-oh movie from, like, 2017/2018, when Yugi uses the Trap card "Final Gaes" to boost his monsters ATK score
At work a while back, my boss comes by and asks "Hey is that a snake on the floor?". Me: "Hah, think you're gonna get me with the rubber snake gag?" Nope, a snake got in, several rooms deep into the research and development labs area of a paint factory. And that was the first time I caught and picked up a snake.
I have liked and commented! I continue to serve the divine dungeoncast! Good morrow milords! I apologise for being so late this time around, but I'm here now, ready to receive our weekly boon of knowledge. These naga are...interesting creatures. Creatures that can not die are odd to me. Being long lived like a dragon, or even an elf is one thing, but immortality, and being reborn every time one is slain? How is such a thing even possible. Nothing lasts forever. The arrogant naga revel in their supposed superiority, but surely not even they can out run (or out slither I suppose I should say?) the sands of time forever. Then again, perhaps my mortal human mind is merely incapable of comprehending the idea of truly lasting forever, of something truly never ending, but then again, because I am human, in a way I am cursed, or perhaps blessed? To have and innate understanding that nothing is eternal, all things are finite. Perhaps I am foolish for saying so, but the naga are no different. They naturally place themselves atop a hierarchy to command others based soley on nothing more than being born blessed, or perhaps cursed? With unending youth and time to do with as they please, as well as their grand magical talents. Well, I may have a distaste for the racist serpents, but I do not hate them. I will not take action against them unless they deem fit to lord themselves over the people of knowledge and laughter. For we are only subservient to the lords of knowledge and laughter, who are truly the closet things to eternal in all the realms. With lord will's near eternal knowledge, and lord brians ability to grant us nigh eternal laughter...forgive me, I forgot I am, but a paladin, not a priest. I should stop now before I begin giving a full blown sermon. Speaking of the gods of knowledge and laughter, in this weeks boon of knowledge I hear two voices more. Could these be divine beings? The dungeoncast pantheon grows ever larger. Well, I digress. In the wake of the shadow outbreak we continue to rebuild. However soon we will take a break to feast on Turkey and other foods. We need be thankful we have what we have left after the troubling times we have gone through. And to you oh lords of knowledge and laughter, may you feast upon a grand banquet in your divine realms, and have a very happy thanksgiving. :) Ok I'm actually quite happy with how this week's bit turned out. I don't have much to say so this is the end of my comment, but I do want to ask, how are you feeling will? Just want to check in because you know, the virus scare. Regardless stay safe and have a good day both of you.
My very first character was a Divine soul sorcerer named Naga Sadow. I remember the first time we met a Naga, my group looked at my character and said "Are you guys related?" He essentially responded with a big ol "Nope", and proceeded to fireball his scaly ass.
That sounds like literal racism! 😅 Almost everyone who is a part of a minority group, in most any small town/city, has been asked similar questions. I'm in my 30s, and up until I stopped working with the public, I was asked if I knew any random LGBT person, that my clients/co-workers knew. Initially, my answer was most always a polite "no." Eventually I started saying that we all wear masks, and use aliases, at the big secret meetings. In hindsight, I have to wonder how many people walked away, being unsure of whether I was really joking, or not? 😁
@@laserbrain7774 That's correct. I took inspiration for that character from the Sith Lord Naga Sadow. In fact, all my current PC's, both used and unused, are references to Star Wars characters. Naga Sadow, Sorcerer Tulak Horde, Eldritch Fighter Marka Ragnos, Wizard Ajunta Pall, Warlock Etc.
If I were a Lich, considering all the dangerous and immoral requirements to become pretty much immortal, Nagas would REALLY aggravate me that they naturally have so much going on for them. I can definitely see some Yuan-Ti and Liches teaming up against a Naga before trying to turn on each other.
NAGA PLEASE!!! 😁😅 Was the name of my 2 man arena team, in World of Warcraft! Although the Naga in that game, remind me more of aquatic Yaun-ti, than most other depictions of Nagas, that I've seen in other games.
Excellent video as always! Also will you guys do a video on the creator race like the leshay and sarrukh? Also shout out to demogorgon and his Ixitxachitls homies!❤
The dnd nagas' immortality in some ways reminds me of the monsters in the Percy Jackson books. In those, when a monster is killed, its body crumbles to dust and its essence returns to Tartarus until its body reforms at a later time (and presumably a new location). This process can take anywhere from weeks to centuries.
I plan to use Naga in a similar manner to sphinxes in my campaign, except without the devotion to a God. In the quest, I want to use it as a source of information for my players to find a mcguffin in the area. My players haven't gone to the area yet, but I've an entire jungle area that's filled with reptilian and avian beings. The conflict in the area is mainly centered around a war between the Arrakoccra and Yuan-Ti (they can turn them into Kenku in my setting in order to subjugate them). The Naga is neutral in the matter, but the Yuan-Ti still go and harass it from time to time. I've this interesting idea that this Naga just sits in its lair like a hermit, not really caring about the world around it since it's so stuck in the past. Its surrounded by old bones and rubble, even it's own bones from the past few times it's fallen from successful Yuan-Ti attacks. I haven't ironed out the details, but the trick to getting the information will likely involve convincing the Naga to give information about the mcguffin which will also lead to it choosing a side in the conflict.
I introduced a Spirit Naga in my game and wanted to see what you guys had to say on the subject. However, after hear Brian say Koh the Face Stealer..... that is going to happen and soon. hahaha
suprised you didnt connect this to orichimaru!, p.s think I watch a lore video on these from AJ pickett and he mentions they are connected to a diety of rebirth which explains their immortality.
Snake god be like, I want an army of big snakes, saruk be like, ok god well set that up for you. Nagas come into existence and be like screw you god and you too saruk we're gonna kill and eat you to gain your divinity and become immortal to then overthrow the saruk The nagas then spread throughout the world furthering their own ends but remained to uncoordinated to ever become a unified threat
In Hindu Mythology, Nagas have partial possession of the Amrita (Elixir of Life). They are eternally youthful and shed their skin to regain their youth.

The one good thing about my Sunday
I hope the rest of your Sunday will not be horrible Darnell! I'm sorrow that you had a bad day
Now if only Superquest Saga was weekly to make every tuesday great
Best way to start the week.
You two are just awesome
Read about Nagas on saturday, was suprised that Will and Brian had not covered them yet, as they seemed interesting. Keep up the great work guys!
You thought the magic was your ally, but I was born with it, molded by it.
I realize it's quite randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to watch newly released movies online?
@Jaziel Ephraim flixportal :P
@Gage Jayce thank you, signed up and it seems to work =) Appreciate it !!
@Jaziel Ephraim Happy to help =)
Hi Velixoty!
Yes, that was my fave part of the show.
Hi Jack!! Haha this is why I was a bit late to the goliath game a couple weeks ago.

Spirit Naga seems like Troglodyte Demigod.
why I love pathfinder, sorcerer 20th level can become one, serpentine bloodline.

Competition brings out the worst in the Yuan-ti.
Yeah but that’s what makes them the best! They are the baddies we love to hate.
I like to chuckle, thinking about a beholder bullying a naga.

Oh that's a fun idea. Just have various jealous evil doers team up against the naga out of pure spite.
"snake ass limbs" @12:27 lmao...

These monsters may have to slither into the next campaign I run!

Poisonous serpents with teets will never get stale. They turn us hard for many reasons
This managed to slither past my notice, wasn't able to trike with my customary quickness
Under the ways of the hood, one must learn to react quick. I'm still learning
I'm late and won't be watching this till tomorrow so for now I'll just leave a snake pun.
Wadda ya call a cold snake?
A viBURR
I'm hissing fits because of how cold I am right now. I'm too warmblooded for this stuff. Heckin says da science bois hot git chill quek
@@ashenwuss1651 even the naga being the eternal beings they are don't like the cold. I suggest you eTURNal around and head somewhere warm.
I'll be that guy: Dendar is the biggest snake!

Asian: Yun-ti.
American: YAWN-TEA! XD
NAGA PLEEEEEASE!!!!
What up my Nagas!🐍🐍🐍

What if a lich just captured a naga and continuously fed it's soul into it's phylactery?

I always confuse Yaun-Ti and Naga.
Nah-gahs 🙃
