In the scene were Dumbo first shows up, his mother says his name is Jumbo Jr. and the other elephants think it's cute, but then his ears come out from behind him and the other elephants laugh and are all like, "Jumbo? More like Dumbo!" Then everyone calls him Dumbo from there.
The trumpets are so annoying lmao. I'm sorry guys I thought it was funny at the time.

Dumbo was the first Disney movie that I ever saw in a theater back in about 1955 or so. As such it made a great impression on me and I even considered becoming an animator at one point. I visited Hanna-Barbera studios a few decades ago and they were very kind to me and showing me around and giving me a whole pile of animation supplies which I used to make a few 16mm film sequences. Thank you for this video. Great Job!
My sister was traumatized by Dumbo when she was little, the scene with his mother in the cage just makes her cry way too much. And she's nearly 30 now!
+Nemo Listing What's "way too much" crying, exactly? It's a beautiful scene that makes just about any person with a soul cry because it's a mother and child separated by society.
You are a great TH-camr with a great channel. I am sort of in the same boat as you and Dumbo because I am a disabled guy in a power wheelchair and I really didn't fit in at regular school but I did fit in classes for handicap children. Your ears look great to me.
I love Dumbo so much. Definetly my number 1 movie of all & from Disney. It's my childhood. I learned some new facts from this video I didn't know!
Dumbo is definitely one of my favorite Disney movies, although the scene where Dumbo had that dream freaked me out when I was a kid, it still freaks me out now lol.

I watched dumbo about 2 months ago after not seeing it for probably 10+ years. I was yelling at the screen the whole time at all the people and animals picking on Dumbo. I was getting in to it man, like when Mama Elephant was whooping that kid who was picking on dumbo's ears (was he really one to talk though? Lol) I was like YEAH GET HIM GET HIM! Then they start tying her up and I'm like WAT STAP!!! Not even lying whole movie I was mad. Poor little Dumbo. Glad he got back his mommy. :3

Loved Dumbo as a child ❤
The leader of the crows is Jim Crow. He was voiced by Cliff Edwards (white guy). The year before, he voiced the very popular conscience, Jiminy Cricket, in Pinocchio (1940). He also voiced Jiminy in dozens of shorts.
I liked the trumpets because they were so abrupt, they made it funny. If you want to change the noise go ahead, but it made me smile every time.
+78piratesrule I'm glad somebody enjoyed them! They were supposed to be a little annoying but I really thought the out-of-nowhere aspect would be something people found funny. Oh well.

October 23, 2016 marks the 75th anniversary of Dumbo. I just realized it.
Watching this in 2021.... Jon Solo is a nice rebrand.
A few more facts that I think are accurate, but I may be wrong.
First, Dumbo may be the first Disney animated movie that was an original story not adapted from a previous work created by some outside author.
Second, Dumbo may be the first Disney animated movie that didn't have a princess in it.
Third, Dumbo may be the first Disney animated movie that didn't contain magic or an enemy who used magic to try to get rid of the main character.
Fourth, Dumbo may be the first Disney animated movie where the main character's mother wasn't dead and was very much a part of the main character's life.
Like I said, I may be wrong on some of those, but they feel right.

If Dumbo is your favorite Disney movie, how could you not know that A) the stork asked Mrs. Jumbo what his name was and she said 'Jumbo Jr' and that B) The Elephant in Blue said 'After all who cares about her precious little Jumbo?' and the elephant in dark green said 'Jumbo, you mean Dumbo.' the name came from the Elephant Ladies. I haven't seen it in 5 years and even I know all that ;) and Baby Mine > When I see an Elephant Cry ;) just saying

Sorry to say, but Dumbo does come from one of the other elephants making fun of the baby after Mrs. Jumbo defends her son. But, yeah, Dumbo is only ever called by his real name twice: once when he's actually named, and right before he gets his nickname. Even his friend calls him Dumbo...though to be fair, Timothy probably doesn't know Dumbo's real name is Jumbo Jr.

I'm sorry but the fact about the crows is slightly wrong. None of them were played by African Americans. Maybe. The lead Crow, Jim (Dandy) Crow (the leader of the crows), was played by Cliff Edwards ( a white man) He also played Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio. Although the other actors who played the crows (though no one knows which one played which crow), James Baskett, Jim Carmichael, and Nicodemus Stewart could have been African Americans, but they're aren't any pictures of them anywhere that I could find. So the fact is half right and half wrong.
The name dumbo did come from the other elephants calling him dumb...
The sounds effect got irritating but then It had got funny
