I used the Tekon slim ratchet, a “CV” type universal joint 3/8” #23766 and a 14mm Burger motor sports to get the spark plugs in and out. I didn’t remove anything on the pass side and am going to go from the bottom on the drivers side
Hey Leonard-Great vid for accessing the plugs on the FA24F in the Outback. I have a '24 OB Wilderness that I've been thinking about. Your video was most helpful. Thanks.
While some mechanics recommend applying a small amount of anti-seize to the threads of Subaru spark plugs to facilitate easier removal later, it's important to consult the specific instructions from Subaru and the spark plug manufacturer, as some brands like NGK explicitly advise against using anti-seize on their spark plugs as it can potentially affect the torque required for proper installation and potentially damage the threads; always prioritize the manufacturer's guidance when deciding whether to use anti-seize on Subaru spark plugs.
In the video I said 30k interval I meant 60k. Koken 3305PZ-14 magnetic spark plug socket and Harbor Freight SKU: 67993 PITTSBURGH PRO 1/4 in., 3/8 in. Drive Dual Head Ratchet, also find a short 3/8 extension and universal joint.
2:25 in the video shows the buckle and small tab that keeps it locked or latched closed.

Glad you liked it. It was fun taking on the project and I wanted others to be familiar with the process.
How did you remove the wiring harness cam within the fuse box. I did not see any tabs to push in the pivot the cam.
Thanks for chronicling your spark plug experience, please use anti-seize on your new plugs

Per other reply, NGK and Subaru explicitly state 'do not use anti-seize.'
