I wish I'd known about this program earlier....Few months ago I finished building my budget pc that actually covers my gaming interests and I don't think this is going to become really useful now, but before on my old laptop I would cry with happiness to see 50-60 fps on games.
the thing is, this is far better now, you could use to run 4k or to get some new games that aren't well optmizex liked alan wake 2, cyberpunk (it is better now, but could be better) and you will get a overall better experience.

At the same time, it easily lets through (doesn't even detect) and allows actual viruses to prevail (it happened to me a few years ago when a ransomware virus encrypted half of my hard drive and demanded money from its "owners" in exchange for the decryption key) You should upload the file to VirusTotal and see what alerts are triggered/not triggered by the MORE ADVANCED security softwares i guess.
This is RSR. It was for a short time offficial available for the APUs Ryzen 2000 or newer. Now its only for Radeon RX 5000 or newer possible. But if the game official supports FSR it will look much better.
Latest Magpie 10.+ now has English version. To me image quality is slight improvement like 5-10%. Uses FSR upscale and FSR CAS sharpening. I think it's using FSR 2.0
A solution for me was to limit the fps to a constant value ( was 60 for me) through AMD software. Then the lagginess goes away. But there another problem for me, which is the constant stutter. For some reason every 5 second i get a stutter. I discovered the cause, which was the TDP dropping. I don't know if it has something to with driver settings or magpie. If somebody knows how to solve this issue I'd be very grateful.

This feature is like the RSR. Radeon Super Resolution. With this program it is also possible to use that technology on older GPUs and iGPUs. FSR is in any case much better but must be supported by the game.
And why not immediately download Lossless scaling or Magpie, why do you need to run this program, or it (the program) does it apply the settings automatically?
The newer version doesn't have that magpie fsr options in the settings, I never used PCs to play games until now so I have zero idea what I'm doing and why lol I gave up as soon as I started to read the discord faq, I don't understand a single term lol

I used magpie playing Genshin Impact, I normally have 20-30 fps, with magpie it went to 40 fps for like 30 seconds and then spiked to 10-13 fps, what is happenning?
cpu overload, if your rig is too potato it will do more harm then good. its mostly used to make grpahic intensive games better. cpu bound games will not improve alot @@JoeMama-rr6pt
might be that your cpu is now bottlenecking the gpu since its pushing for more fps. also i believe genshin supports fsr 2 out of the box, maybe that would work better?
Can you do update on Magpie FSR w/ the newest UXTU beta ver 2.0 . The magpie in stable version always produce fps boost but I get crazy stuttering that it's nit playable (it doesn't decrease fps bc I thought the stuttering was caused by fps drop)

It image fidelity:performance. The upscaled ,depending on the game you play, has a slightly lower image fidelity then native, however, the performance increase is quite good depending on the native resolution you set pre-upscale.
When you are standing still the difference is there but it's not extreme, when it is extreme is when you are moving but it's not as notable because you are doing things. So you would have to be moving on only caring about the visuals, which kind of defeats the purpose of a video game.
Sorry for the late reply, TH-cam doesn’t send notifications for replies to comments. If you’re speed is dropping like that, there might be a configuration issue. Are you using the presets or making your own profile? Usually that lock at low speed is because one of the settings being applied is either misconfigured or the system is not allowing it to apply
Man I wish I could get this to work. Only get error messages from pressing alt+f. The newer versions don't support magpie fsr for the time being either.
@@x0vg5hs1 yeah went with magpie first but couldn't get that one to trigger on app start either hehe. Last time I did a clean system install was like 2014 so probably something on my end
are all 6 cores showing up in like task manager? It Ryzen 5 systems should have 2 disabled cores since they are essentially cut down 8 core systems. the 2 cores are permanently fused off so there is no way to re-enable them. so unless you're missing any of the 6 cores, you should be fine as that should be normal.
@@EVOTech1 yes i checked it and realised all six cores are running except 1 core which is disabled on both sides of CCX1 and CCX2. I am finally relieved after reading this. Thanks for clarifying man. I was really worried if i have messed up something or not.
as far as i an see, it has never triggered anti cheat for me. now, if you're worried about it potentially getting you banned from a game, i would not risk it. just because it does not trigger anti cheat right now does not mean a later update to any specific anti cheat wont suddenly decide it doesnt like it. I would really only recommend using it for single player or coop games.

On GPUs Radeon RX 500 or newer you can activate Radeon Super Reolution. Its the same but official. The special thing about is that you can use it on APUs aswell.
no FSR 2.x can't be injected like FSR 1 can. The reason is because FSR 2 needs in game data to actually function properly, like motion vectors. it's much closer to DLSS which means the game has to actually implement it to actually have it function, while FSR 1.0 is pretty much just a filter so it can just be a drag and drop or injected situation like this.
I have not encountered any situation where it has happened, but of course I and the Devs cant guarantee anything. I would not use it on any kind of competitive game with Anti Cheat just in case. you never know when the anti cheat will be updated to be far more aggressive than it needs to be. things like MSI Afterburner and Discord overlays have gotten people banned in games before. I wouldn't risk it with this.

FSR 2.0 is already built in to hogwarts legacy and it's better than this. Just turn it on in the in game settings.

It's called UXTU Super Resolution now and it works pretty well in Palworld. There's some flickering ofc, but not as bad as not having any AA.

somehow when I use this it gets more laggy in terms of visual fps

Sep 2023: The FSR option has been removed and opening the program tanks my PC. I downloaded the older version, that has FSR and it won't even open.
I used this and my frame rate was showing high but actually ran horribly I recommend lossless scaling instead of

Exactly. The game itself is rendered at a lower resolution, then FSR do it's magic and the game looks like it's in higher resolution.

in general both seem to work around the same. I prefer the lossless scaling tool just because the interface is easier to use.
Lossless scaling is alot more straightforward to use. And you can even use it for video playback and retro game upscaling.
