      Thank you very much for the comment....
      I am not extremist to the point of saying that you can't buy discus with that size, however, for those who don't have much experience in aquarium keeping, you may have problems because discus still need a lot of attention because they are in a developmental stage.
      But if you do everything right, you will succeed.

    • @PSKaqua

      Hello my friend!!!
      It's true... when I was editing this video and putting together those videos of the previous layouts I kept looking at them and remembering both the fish and the layouts themselves.
      These videos are a way for me to remember what they looked like. If I didn't have this channel, I possibly would have deleted many of the videos by now to free up space on my phone. Yes, because I film everything on my cell phone. 😅
      Time to make the videos is not even the problem, I shoot and edit them in a day. The problem is to come up with interesting topics every week and for someone who has only one aquarium, I'm running out of ideas. 😅😅😅

    hello great video Can i ask you if it possible to put co2 in discus aquarium?

    • @PSKaqua
      @PSKaqua  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello my friend!!!
      Thank you very much.
      Yes, you can have CO2 with discus, however, it is not the most advisable, simply because if you want to have CO2, it is because you have a demanding planted tank. The plants in that planted tank will want to have bright light, nitrates, and a temperature around 25°C maximum. These variables are not very good for Discus.
      So, the problem is not even the CO2 itself, but why you want a planted tank and the needs that this planted tank will demand.

    Myth/Fact 16 - Discus fishes to be kept in white/light blue background. Never in Black tanks!
    Could you please help with this.

    • @PSKaqua
      @PSKaqua  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello my friend!
      I've never heard or read anything about this topic, but it doesn't make any logic. Of course there are colours that appear to enhance the colour of the fish, but it's because of the contrast of the colour with that background, but I don't think there is any influence.

    Love the video, however I somewhat disagree with the "don't buy small" part.
    Its the most rewarding way to keep discus in my opinion.
    Requires time and effort but beats buying a fish for 3x the money that somebody else has put time and effort in.
    Great vid

      Hello my friend!!!
      Thank you very much...
      I fully understand your opinion and agree with it. However, I am referring to people who have no experience with discus, not even experience in aquarium keeping. To them, buying small fish will certainly not work out.

    Great informative video.
    But why would you not buy a discus in the size from 7-8 cm ? I bought 6 of them in that size, was that a bad idea? Will they not grow u think ?

    • @PSKaqua
      @PSKaqua  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello my friend!!!
      In my opinion, Discus with less than 8 to 10 cm are still in the development stage and need a lot of care that in general, I would say 90% of the cases, the person who buys them and who will put them in a community tank, will not have the time, availability, knowledge and conditions to give them so that they have an adequate development.
      I'm not saying that you can't do it, but you have to have a lot of dedication in order to achieve a complete development.

      I agree, smaller discus need extra feeding 3-4 times a day which puts an increased load on the aquarium. It’s not impossible though. I did it with my red ICA’s but you have to be ontop of your water changes

    • @cashicashi4904
      @cashicashi4904 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@owencasey6444 Thx for the answer. How often did u feed them during that time...

    • @PSKaqua
      @PSKaqua  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cashicashi4904 Are the 6 alone and are they all the same size?
      It can go well, mind you, what I am saying is that we should not buy them because they still need a lot of attention.
      They are cichlids, and within the group, hierarchies will form where there will always be one that is at the end of it. That one will possibly not develop properly, and the most serious thing is that they are in a crucial stage of growth. If they are bought outside this crucial phase (above 10/12cm), the risks of having a discu with growth problems is lower.
      To get good results, you will have to do several water changes, maybe daily, about 25%, and feed a lot, about 4/5 times a day. If you see that there are some that can't eat because the bigger, more dominant ones won't let them, put the food in different parts of the tank so that everyone has a chance to eat.
      But you will see that you will succeed. It all depends on the commitment and dedication that you put in.
