This is truly inspiring; I intend to design my next aquarium with elements similar to this, including Discus and German Rams, as well as a wall-to-wall aquarium and a sump system similar to what is shown here.
Such a beautiful aquarium and he’s a great guy and very accessible. Sad I never got to meet up with him before I moved. Always responds and very knowledgeable
What a fantastic set up! Any chance for a link to more detailed instructions on how to set up a water change system like that? Did he say he does a partial water change 4 times a day? Now thats how a pro keeps discus!!!
This is in fact really beautiful aquascaped aquarium like real jungle reminding places in old Asia (of course with amazonian fishes), I wouldn't change this look of aquarium inside and planted outside, it's very beautiful reminding old good times.
Love Discus, they are stunning fish, noticed one looked a bit thin, it’s always great to see another Discus tank and how it’s filtered, some great ideas incorporated in this build. 👍
I love the aquarium, the hardscape, the planting, the lighting, the filtration, the wall divider idea, and the Discus do look very calm and at home. I also love the emerging plants all giving it a very natural jungle look about it. If I had one criticism to make, take a look at one or two of the actual Discus. Especially the one to the front left at 2 minutes in to the video. It looks quite 'pinched' around the centre of its body, and the stress bars are evident. So I'm guessing it is a very old fish, or it is just not getting enough food, or has an illness. But I'm splitting hairs here, overall it is a beautiful setup. 😍 👌👏
Hi TMKAquarist. Have you ever had any problems with your java ferns in higher temperatures? Mine seem to struggle in my discus tank. They start to have brown spots and just wither away eventually.
Wow, real nice, what about the water situation though? What is it out of the tap or well and do you do something to it to support the wild discus? Really cool and the colors are special. If you can get some reproduction going it will take it to next level, and I mean that as a blanket statement for every tank but this one especially. I disagree with the idea that blocking or sealing the under spaces is a good idea. Tetras would be a nice addition and like all the fish types if you can get them reproducing that would be next level. I am working on a hardscape where there will be like a pit that eggs can fall into and nothing big will get in. Really nice tank, to me I think it actually seems smaller than the real size it is, prolly cause I am looking at a screen, good dimensions though, and thanks, really nice and to top off my constructive? bitchiness if you had got like two males and like four females you'd have less fish but maybe more in a way.
Which ones? These discus have been with me for like 2 yrs. I sold a few of them to thin out the group, a few of them didn’t make it, but this is the group I’ve had.
Ya, one of them is beyond saving. I tried to save my friend’s sickly one, which I though he got better after treatment in the hospital tank, but I guess the root problem was never cured
that is a sweeet setup you got. Please have a power generator to backup the fishtank should anything happen the last thing you want is your place to smell like a swamp...
and that ending is how a p**n movie begins 🤣😂🤣 was kinda hot actually, huh? lol EDIT: and the tank is beautiful btw, love the slate bottom, gives me inspiration for my new setup. does slate affect the PH?
Thanks Joey for coming to visit! Had a ton of fun filming 😂❤
Great thank man😂 I’m sure the camera doesn’t do it justice
@@SalvadorQuinn Thk u! We made a mistake of filming in the afternoon, nighttime in a darker surrounding would be much better :)
Wow Man U have a awesome tank having just started keeping discus ur tank is absolutely amazing and love how u have ran the filtration
@@drewdamon3138 thks man! I’ll be making more in-depth videos on both the tank and discus keeping ;)
Hai @tmkaquarist whats the tank size and thickness of glass and which rocks and which drift wood you used and plants , can u provide me the details
That is a really nice setup...........planted, but not over done. The outside plant touches are really well done.
3:25 lol 😂
Amazing tank though. Very relaxing to watch
Now this is a dream tank. One of the most beautiful set ups I’ve seen.
Thats a very beautiful tank
Thk u!

I have always wanted to have discuss. Gives me wonderful ideas but I think I'll stick with my angels in my parrots. Absolutely stunning tank.
Thk u ❤
Wow that is sooo awesome so beautiful. I would love to have your set up💚💚💚🐠
So beautiful! Love monstera and it doesn’t need much light. Great house plant
Thanks! I love monsteras
Enjoyed the video. Great looking tank!
Such a beautiful aquarium and he’s a great guy and very accessible. Sad I never got to meet up with him before I moved. Always responds and very knowledgeable
Thks man! 🙌
I like these shorter visit, explore, tour videos…. Love yah and best of luck with your engagement brother
Awesome tank. So creative. I love the wild discus. The aesthetics of this tank works really well to show off the discus.
Thk u!
What's the plant called at 3:47? The one that goes up the wall. I can't hear what he says its called.
Creeping fig

Beautiful, love everything about it. Nice job!
Thks so much!
That is an impressive tank (and beautiful Discus) Those Rocks on the floor of the tank (the seaform ones) are my favorite to use in aquariums
Slate stones make the perfect river bed or stream/lake floor ;)
@TMKAquarist and it looks amazing!
Beautiful set up. I would leave the scape. Looks amazing 👋
Love Discus, they are stunning fish, noticed one looked a bit thin, it’s always great to see another Discus tank and how it’s filtered, some great ideas incorporated in this build. 👍
Yupp. 1 of them is really really thin over the body and dark
Thanks! Unfortunately one of them is beyond saving :(
@@TMKAquarist Why? Did you try everything in a quarantine tank?
@@cashicashi4904 ya, tried everything, he’s just too far gone
Those slate walls are the coolest thing I have seen in an aquarium in a long time. I am totally stealing that idea for my next build.
Haha Thks! For sure, they r awesome! Wait til u see how I used them on a 1200 gallons I named the Groot
Awesome video! Such a nice tank
A dream Discus set-up, IMO
Yay another great channel to watch! Love it kudos to you 👍🏻🙌🏻
Alright! Thks so much!

Looks amazjng what a scape 😅
Beautiful tank 🐠🍃💚
🙌
Amazing . I love discus fish❤
The tank looks great! I wouldn’t change anything about it.
Thks! I get that a lot, but wait til u see the rescape ;)
Very nice! Does the monstera plant root in the water like pothos?
Perfect tank, well done!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thks u!
Wow really nice set up
Thk u!
😮 amazing. I have a lot more to learn.
Beautiful. Making me want to start up a discus tank 😂
Wow really awesome ❤😂😂
❤❤
What type of fish are those with the black line over the eye that resembles geophagus?
You guys are the best
Thk u❤
Hi TMKAquarist. Have you ever had any problems with your java ferns in higher temperatures? Mine seem to struggle in my discus tank. They start to have brown spots and just wither away eventually.
Amazing work
Wow, that’s pretty
I want monstera plant in my tanks!😍
They r super easy, just drop it into the water and watch them grow ;)
Fabuloso!!
Fabulous!!
Nice tour,tank...
Have you thought about Sevrums?
Ya, I have, but I only want discus to be the focus of this tank :)
Very beautiful, 🎉
Thanks!
Bring back the diy in joey and build a wall separated tank tutorial!!
Haha yes plz! Alright, maybe I can help off load Joey’s plate a bit
He could so easily convert that into a gorgeous reef :D
Absolutely, the dimension of the tank is also perfect! Ngl, I have thought abt it, and will probably do so in a future iteration of this tank ;)
If I'll have one tank for the rest of my life this is it! Tmk 💪
Tolles Diskusaquarium! 👍Da der Filter draußen steht, dürfte er in einem warmen Landstrich wohnen, in dem die Temperaturen nicht wirklich fallen ..🙄
He’s in California. It doesn’t get too cold in winter there, unlike other parts of the USA or Europe.
That’s why I had to insulate it :)
@@EvaCzarnojanczykyep, although it gets to low 40s in some winter nights, so the insulation is a must ;)
beautifull akvarium

what does he do with the RO waste water??
The filter holds more gallons than all of my tanks lol
Haha😂
Over a week of a normal video guess we back to old Joey
Nice Tank, nice scape .............excellent ..........
But somehow I feel fishes are not in their good health .......may be I am wrong
Nice!!!
Lets gooooo my guy
🙌🙌🙌
what is his channel ?
Where is this monstera growing in?
What happened to all of the Discus you had just bought before tearing everything apart agian?
Which ones? These discus have been with me for like 2 yrs. I sold a few of them to thin out the group, a few of them didn’t make it, but this is the group I’ve had.
@@TMKAquarist sorry for not being more clear-- I was referring to @thekingofdiy
@@mcwilliams3357 oh oops
I'm first. Go joey
i thought you had to put minerals back into ro water before you can use it ?
Straight RO is fine, not striping everything, unlike rodi
alot of those discus are emaciated...Discus are so hard to keep...one has a parasite it spreads hard to rid of them of parasites without killing them

@@TMKAquarist good stuff. hate to see all that work and fish go to waste.
@@The_Zilli absolutely 🙌
Why would you need water changes with all the plants and that monster filter?
Wow!!!!
love the Tank but tbh if your happy and its a passion there shouldnt be control over what you love
I see some dark and skinny Discus...and a not that "ultimate" tank.
In my dreams
and that ending is how a p**n movie begins 🤣😂🤣 was kinda hot actually, huh? lol
EDIT: and the tank is beautiful btw, love the slate bottom, gives me inspiration for my new setup. does slate affect the PH?
😂 *the beat of p***hub starts playing. Anyways, so the slate is pretty much just compressed mud, so they don’t affect the ph at all.

Fish.
Too small for Diskus. They need more Length of the Tank
Longer tank would be more ideal
Je trouve les discus maigre 😢
You always can remove her 😂
😂 hope she steers clear of this comment section lmao
