Hello my friend!!! Great question! 😊 Beneficial bacteria in the nitrogen cycle typically appear naturally, as they are present in the environment. When you set up a new aquarium, these bacteria can enter your tank through the water, substrate, plants, or even fish that you add. Over time, they begin to colonize surfaces like your filter media, substrate, and decorations. However, because their initial population is small, it takes time for them to grow to a level where they can efficiently process waste. This is why the ‘cycling’ process is so important-it allows the bacteria time to multiply and establish a stable colony. You can also speed up the process by adding bottled bacteria products designed to seed your tank with the right species!

And as you say, the blues are the colours that stand out the most, looking like they have neon lights. The values of the wild ones are higher, yes. But we have to realise that the whole process of collecting them from the wild and "taming" them is something that has to be paid for. The "hybrid" versions are born on the breeder's premises, there aren't so many stages before they reach our aquariums, so although they're still expensive, they're cheaper than the wild ones.

But as they are more territorial than Discus, and as yours are so small, I would let the Discus grow a bit more so you don't have any problems. At 3" they are still in a stage of development and growth, so any stress they may experience from the addition of other fish could be harmful. But that's my opinion.

Hello my friend! Really? What happened? Were the sponges full or did some sponge clog up the inflow tube? Nothing like this has ever happened to me. It's true that after a week I had to clean the sponges, but never to the point of straining the engine.

Olá, meu amigo!!! 🤜🏻🤛🏻 Muito obrigado! 👍🏻 Não conheço esses filtros, mas sendo da Fluval serão bons. Estive a ver as specs deles. O 307 faz teoricamente 1150l/h o que para o teu aquário filtra 6x o volume de água. O 407 faz teoricamente 1450l/h e filtraria a água do aquário 8x. Como esse valores são atribuídos com o filtro a trabalhar sem mideas, irão perder caudal quando estiverem cheios. Por isso, será melhor optar pelo 407. Grande abraço. 🤜🏻🤛🏻
