      I know a guy from high school who had a knee injury from back then, 10 years later and multiple surgeries and he still can't do most sports, had the pop out multiple times from just running. Michael Bisping had knee issues his entire career but couldn't fully replace it until retirement (injured first in 2005 at 26) in 2019 getting knee replacement surgery. I don't wish this on Mokaev but the knee issue is at least going to severely limit his movement because this wasn't a minor knee issue.

    Seems like he might have jeopardized the rest of his career for this one win - knees aren't like Shins wherein fighters can come back without movement issues- Anderson Silva the prime example, seems like knees linger for the rest of your career because they aren't replaceable and so vital to leg flexibility. Every future opponent of Mokaev is going to attack his left leg.

  • @moreliquorinmycoffee
    @moreliquorinmycoffee ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ive seen alot of people discrediting Mokaev for not tapping, reducing his actions down to pride and saying its because of the pressure of being undefeated, and saying stupid things like it was dishonourable towards his opponent becuase hes going to put his opponent through the trauma of having broken Mokhaevs knee and potentially ending his career. I dont know how anybody with a realistic and proper outlook can say anything bad about this. Its nature to endure survive and overcome. Youre basically saying that you wouldnt allow a dog to tear your hand apart if it could save a childs life, life is just fuckd like that, things hurt us. Ive been in a situation where i had to pull apart a belgian malinois and a rottweiler, and i didnt hesitate, my hand was bitten so badly that the bones of my hand was exposed, if i didnt do that the dogs would have fought to the death. And there are many many people who have been in similiar situations where its either you attempt to handle the situation or theres serious repercussions, thats the exact same instinctive reaction as Mokhaev had to not tap there. theres a reason hes such a good fighter, because hes willing to accept the consequences of his mistakes and still face the situation, the fact that he came back and still won the fight by submission should tell everybody what they need to know. How does anybody discredit what he did ? People didnt discredit Tony Ferguson for not tapping to Oliveiras armbar and Beneil Dariushs leglock !
    It was not risky of Mokaev, he probably wasnt thinking that his opponent wouldnt be able to get a full extension, he just ended up in the situation and you kind of just wait and see what happens, if you get an opportunity then you take it, and he got caught in that kneebar and he was able to get out with a functioing leg and still fight. Thats what makes you tough and resilient, whether in the cage or working a normal 9-5 job and having to deal with a sick family member. Look for the opportunities man, being caught in a precarious situation either kills you or presents opportunity.
