- Farm Sanctuary is an American vegan animal protection organization, founded in 1986 as an advocate for farmed animals. It was America's first shelter for farmed animals. It promotes laws and policies that support animal welfare, animal protection, and veganism through rescue, education, and advocacy.

Unbound is a multimedia and book project by acclaimed photojournalist Jo-Anne McArthur (We Animals, The Ghosts in Our Machine) and Dr. Keri Cronin (Department of Visual Arts, Brock University). Their goal is to recognize and celebrate women at the forefront of animal advocacy, in both a contemporary and historical context. The project will evolve over a few years, as they meet, photograph and interview inspiring, hard-working women around the globe. They invite you to join them on their journey as they get to know these incredible women and hear about their challenges, the dangers they’ve faced, their triumphs, their sacrifices, their joys.

@French blue8 Definitely, I'm minimizing the harm I cause so taking animals out of that equation is a moral baseline, once you do some good I believe you go past that which the vegan promoters and activists do. My only form of activism is arguing with strangers online every once in a while... the end result is that person becoming a hypocrite or like a psychopath. I'm looking to do some charity work next, need to get shots if you want to work around animals.

Meat came from living being.
We are dependent on the Earth, not the other way around. In our arrogance, we have flagrantly overlooked this. The essential teaching of Veganism is that life is precious it is a philosophy of the utmost reverence for life.
When we turn a blind eye to the suffering of others, we grow numb to something important in ourselves and succumb eventually to a spiritual paralysis.

You will need grains antibiotics and whole lot of water and energy to keep those animals alive. You will be contributing to the destruction of what is left of our PLANET. Animal sanctuaries are nothing glorified zoos.

i dont get why being called a pig is a bad thing... pigs are smart, intelligent, loving, playful, carefree and forgiving. They also love to eat! Yes calling me a pig is the greatest compliment!

I watched this twice and will probably watch again! People are so misinformed about how the animals are treated behind the scenes! I am a new vegan and until I watched ‘Food Choices’ I really had no idea! I was going vegetarian because that’s what my taste buds love. The rooster wanting so much attention and love was so amazing!

Wow. Susan is such an ambassador for the animals. Everyone at FS is. I wish I could get a job there. I am downstate by NYC, but I don't drive. 😓 I would love to visit FS one day. I also suffer badly from anxiety and depression, and can relate to not wanting to be here. I'm so glad that Susan was able to overcome her depression by finding healing through FS. I hope one day I can be as lucky. xx

Animal sanctuarys are essential places for people to meet farm animals and see them as individuals and not objects...
They are still objects to the owners. As long as they are making money off of them visiting the place that's all that matters to them.
@@shawndarling5855 they do not make money off of them. People can donate money to help with feeding, medical care etc and they have symbolical adoptions too.

I am a vegan and when I am older I want to have a animal sanctuary with all sorts of animals.
Animals are good judges of character and you can see that they love Susie. She's an inspiration for being a better person.
I was at Farm Sanctuary just last week in Watlins Glen NY. It was my 4rth or 5th time visiting. Love it there!

I pray you are correct that if people knew about the terror and torture of factory farming they couldn’t eat animals. That’s why I became a vegan 30 years ago. But I find most people actively avoid knowing to prevent them any inconvenience
