I’m in Ohio! I’m in Columbus Ohio our state capital. I am a city girl but as I age the further away I want to be. I either want a homestead or hobby. My diet is changing and as it does my choice becomes clearer. I can’t wait to begin my journey in life! I definitely will be making a trip to Lasa! Thank you for sharing. I was licked by a cow this morning, and it made me think of this video that I watched just a few days ago. It was actually a heartwrenching experience. I am walking the Camino de Santiago across Spain, and today the trail passed right through a dairy farm. I walked by the veal crates where tiny calves were imprisoned in solitary confinement. They were being kept away from their mothers so that they wouldn't drink the valuable milk. As soon as I stretched out my hand to pat one of the calves, he immediately latched onto it with his mouth and started suckling. He was so clearly desperate for his mother. It was heartbreaking.
Aww, I've had a similar experience with the dairy calves. Heartbreaking to have to walk away, knowing their fate :( I'm glad you were able to give that sweet calf a moment of kindness though.
I am about to volunteer abroad in a vegan sanctuary since my dream is to one day open my own ! I'm just wondering how owners can manage to take care of all these animals and still find a way to make a living !

WHAT DO THESE PEOPLE DO WITH THE ANIMALS WHEN THEY GET OLD AND TIRED.? LET THEM DIE IN PAIN.? THAN WHAT DO THEY DO WITH THEM AFTER.? LET THEM DECOMPOSE AND WASTE THEM.?
They are going to die anyway. I wouldn't want them to suffer, but I would have them live a beautiful life and be with their friends and actually have a life instead of being abused, but then people have to eat, so you would give them a really happy day and while they are sleeping or sometime where they don't have to feel pain or don't see it coming and get all stressed, then you say your last goodbye to them and kill them. It's a win for everyone. The animals live a happy life, and you get to enjoy that life with them and then eat them and it tastes good. But don't make them suffer, give them love and affection and a happy life with other animals and then the sad day comes when they die, but it's better to know when that day is coming and actually have time with them before they die than to have it be out of nowhere and you didn't get to say goodbye.
Plus, I wouldn't stick a machine on the utters, I would just milk them by hand. It doesn't hurt the animal and it's not like you're trying to get every last drop. You just need a lot of cows and a lot of volunteers.
