    Fibre has nothing to do with bowel cancer.

    • @vegannafraali
      @vegannafraali หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      No, it is not true. Fiber plays a significant role in digestive health and can help reduce the risk of bowel cancer. A diet high in fiber is associated with a lower risk of developing colorectal cancer. Fiber helps to keep the digestive system healthy by promoting regular bowel movements, which can prevent the buildup of potentially harmful substances in the intestines. Additionally, fiber can promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, which further contributes to a healthy digestive system.
      The statement that fiber has nothing to do with bowel cancer is incorrect. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated that dietary fiber plays a significant role in reducing the risk of colorectal cancer.
      For instance, a systematic review and meta-analysis published in *The BMJ* found that higher fiber intake is associated with a lower risk of colorectal cancer. This analysis included multiple prospective studies and concluded that each 10 gram per day increase in fiber intake is linked to a 10% reduction in colorectal cancer risk [Dietary fibre, whole grains, and risk of colorectal cancer: systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of prospective studies | The BMJ].
      Additionally, research published in *JAMA Oncology* supports these findings, indicating that higher fiber consumption is associated with improved survival rates for colorectal cancer patients. The study emphasized that dietary fiber helps in promoting beneficial gut bacteria and regular bowel movements, which can reduce cancer risk [Paul Terry, Edward Giovannucci, Karin B. Michels, Leif Bergkvist, Holger Hansen, Lars Holmberg, Alicja Wolk, Fruit, Vegetables, Dietary Fiber, and Risk of Colorectal Cancer, JNCI: Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Volume 93, Issue 7, 4 April 2001, Pages 525-533, doi: 10.1093/jnci/93.7.525].
