I just started oil painting (I even got my 8 yr old son doing it as well), I was originally inspired by Bob Ross. In an attempt to find other types of paintings I discovered your videos and I love them. I have now painted 2 of them and although not nearly as good as yours, they are very impressive. I love watching you and am very sad but happy to learn that you you have been struggling and overcoming your cancer! I hope that you continue to add new step by step videos so I can learn and improve my technique. I wish you all the best and send a huge thank you for helping a beginner find his style. :)

    1. I like portraits and landscapes. could you please suggest the type of brushes that suitable and long lasting.
    2. i have the basic RGB white black and brown oils from winsor and newton. what else do we need especially to create a skin tone colour.
    3. i used hobby crafts brush cleaner solution but it doesn't seem to do the popular.
    thanks

I also beat cancer. It soon will be 20 years. Mine was more advanced but the surgery and treatments handled it.
I still can't find an oil that makes me sick. Talking to MGrahm Company I may be allergic to linseed. I know I can use the driers and chemicals that can be used. I do not use them as I said. I am tired of being sick and I don't want to give up oils.

I've been practicing with you though, did my first underpainting last night, and im halfway through that painting and i must say I'm impressed with myself!! So i'll keep doing this, keep practicing. Another artist I like to watch on youtube and learn from is Chuck Black. His artwork is amazing. If i can paint half as good as him, I'll be delighted. When I have mixed a certain colour shade and have a good bit left over in OIL paint. I get a piece of cling film,
double it over and put the paint in it. Wrap it well to keep out the air. Put it in a dark place like a drawer and it will keep for a good while. You may find it hard to get that particular shade again for touching up. Thanks for your lesson and lovely painting.

Proof of pudding is in the eating-, & I can now get good results, just by watching, listening & following your instructions Maz...
You speak clearly at a gentle pace, & all is very orderly, spoken with excellent diction. I had a swimming accident & my hearing is not at all good now, but your pace & style is superb for me.
God Bless you for your desire to teach & the way you present..Hope you stay well. Kind Regards.

Hi Marion, I love your full step by step tutorial. I painted the "Silent Night" following your youtube tutorial. It was a great experience and I will try again. Also can you please show us how to make your signature delicate and fine in your future tutorial ? Thank you so much! Love you.

The studio lighting seems very yellow. It's difficult to see which colours you are using. Perhaps you can add a filter to this video to help the colours become more realistic. Thoughts?

I love the way that you tell every thing that you do in your paintings. I have done the silent night and the Simple Silhouette and every one loved them. I would love to be in one of your work shops. Do you have any on line.
