great story I retired at 65 and now I have lost all those in a job just to make years in the past year I have learned what a good artist I am and never gave my self a chance at 65 I have found my passion.
I wish painting gave me contentment. It does on one hand and on the other hand it makes me frustrated and tests my patience.. im a instant gratification personality and I always work ….nothing seems to ever be play unless I’m watching my dogs run and play or some great movie…book. Painting is work and lots of learning curves. I also take it too seriously! Id rather work on a thing that results in a fine vessel of some useful kind or useful somethings. To me there is nothing useful about a painting on the wall more than mere decoration and I know how much work goes in to some of them….yet deep inside it seems trivial in the grand scheme of thing.. don’t know if that’s right. Im hoping it’s just a phase….sounds like depression too…. Everybody has different relationship with IT. painting….painting is the harder of any art I tried. Just need to know more about it. Acrylic to me is only half the process… it has some very frustrating ( to me) things about it.. it also alarms me when many painters settle in to a same thing different subject style. So called trademark… is that a goal? Why? Should it be?
As a veteran drawer and a neophyte painter this video was a better teaching tool than Bob Ross. Not that Bob Ross isn't great at edifying people how to paint. This video was perfect for me. To see you mess up and paint through your error and find what you were looking for. To see the camera zoomed in and see you mix with color and experiment, to hear your process. I met my favorite artist Donato Giancola, he told me he took pictures of his family on the beach for his paintings. I'm thirty days into my big canvas painting and your video is guiding me. Thank you so much!
What a wonderful video, this video reminds me of the book you randomly pick up in a library that ends up being the best book you've ever read. So much to take in on this painting.. I watched this video, 3 times. I paint abstract . Always had respect for landscapes. Could never do it though. Thank you for taking the time to create this video, edit and share.
Wonderful drawing. I have followed you. I also love drawing since I was young and I stopped for years, but I came back to try again. I find many difficulties. I hope you will continue to teach us that you are now professional and creative. It is very beautiful what you said about your experience. I love you.❤
It was always so hard, for me, to try to paint, watching Bob Ross and never could do such work. But I could draw well. I did so , because drawing is free, and drawing and painting ceramics, since I was 5, but its different, but i grew up alone, and those 2 things, were mine. Nobody could take that away from me and run away with it. It was my only thing that i could do. Im still trying to paint on canvas. Im doing better. I didnt have art school either. So, im right there where you were..except im 54, now. But i sold 2 tiny paintings last month! A milestone, and im super proud. I hope i can be at your level, by this time next year. Still dreaming my dream. Its mine, cant be stolen. Thank God, Im able to dream.
i sat down to watch this but had to stop after a couple of minutes.. ..10 minutes later i was back with my cup of coffee (couple of biscuits too) and settled down to watch.. aldi's coffee has never tasted better.. thanks for the video and journey :) ps. didnt touch the biscuits
When our Amazing Lord was sculpting his master pieces he out did himself with the Kempters, Cris I believe he gave you a little more than his best, Stay Safe Stay Strong looking forward to Years of the sights and sounds of your talents, God love You and so do I🤟🏼🙋🏼♂️
Painters like this should be admired......they produce real and beautiful art that invokes in you an ambience of calm.....instead of taping bananas on a canvas
Gorgeous! Spectacular! I'm a retired model maker from the 90s who worked in the film industry. Your work has inspired me to take up painting. Thank you fine sir!
I almost NEVER leave TH-cam comments, but this video is SPECTACULAR!!! To listen to your process and how you arrived at where you are is soo incredible! That gift was in you all along, you just needed someone to encourage you to bring it forth! This video is a gem of spiritual insight. Soo many of us have gifts and talents beneath the surface just waiting to spring forth! May we all disCover those gems within us and bring them forth! Thanks for sharing!
The thing that totally stunned me watching you paint is how, after finishing a complete idea, whoosh... you paint right over it and begin again, and create a different idea; that's literally the art of 'letting go'.
I like how you paint. I tend to do the same thing. I will finish a section or thing and then go on to the next thing. My artist friend tried to help me correct that but when I tried it came out awful. I need to build a little at a time instead of painting the entire picture and then refine it. Your painting is beautiful
What is art? Art is story. All art is story. A photograph of something is the thing itself. The painting is the story of it. Story was the first art form and all art forms have that foundation. A story is a shared experience. All art is a shared experience. We need art because we need story because we need that shared experience.
What you said about creating something of your own and not just copy a photo: I can't agree with that. I am a wild life and portrait artist and painting a tiger or a human face needs to be exactly as they are on a photo! And it's art too!
I totally agree with you! I like painting ones in a while. During COVID time I was sitting at home bored and decided to try something new. I wanted to paint landscapes but I didn’t know how to, then I started to watch tutorials step by step and my first landscape with acrylics turned out very nice! After that I painted more , yes doing tutorials and I was very happy with the results. However , my husband kept saying well this is not your own creation because you are doing a copy of what other people paint and I don’t agree with him because I’m the one mixing the paints to get the right colors and I’m the one painting it!, I also change few things so is not necessarily a exact copy sooo I think people who look at a picture and paints it or do tutorials like me should get credits. Lol anyway, is just my humble opinion. One day I want to paint my own and in the mean time I will keep practicing . Thank you for reading. For the artist who made this video , congratulations! I love your painting! You are a great artist!
😁👋🥰😳wow that is so beautiful, you have so much patience to do all that art, that is amazing ,I like your voice ,your story is beautiful, thank you for sharing, your story gives us ,to trust in ourselves ,apréciate all this beautiful words ,wow God blessed you 🙏always, I’m talking for my self ,I’m sure other people think the same as me 😁🤔🥰thank you , awesome painting, I really enjoy listening to you, beautiful voice, You have so much talent, 😅blessings ,and thank you again for your time, and your step-by-step tutorial🥰Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🥰😁🦋 how can you paint and talk? Wow amazing OK. Take care.🥰🦋🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👌👌👌
Doing great brother! Beautiful work. Once you get down the light source and how to work the color shading, it becomes something truly beautiful. I wish you all the best! God bless!
@@ChrisKempter I do, it’s ornjonasar. 2 of my paintings are there; will have to post more. I also have a video of me doing one at the end of the days on a painting holiday - took me about 45 minutes - will post when I get the chance.
I wanted to get started with oil paints but what I did was work with simulation software(Nintendo) and I found I was able to develop my skills very quickly because there's no drying time when your working on a device. But I feel I know how to paint, in a way that would have taken many years of study. Looking at your work inspired me to try acyrilics. So, thank you for that.
Your mom was right when she said you could do it. Great painting.
