👍- Fabulous Art ! Fabulous Artist ! - 🙂-
Your mom was right when she said you could do it. Great painting.
Thanks!
At some point your going to have to stop giving me so much money lol. You’ll have enough for a free painting soon!
@@ChrisKempter LOL...I still think that I got the better bargain!
You got it! That's what I've wondered myself; coping a photo & making it ones own!,
great story I retired at 65 and now I have lost all those in a job just to make years in the past year I have learned what a good artist I am and never gave my self a chance at 65 I have found my passion.
Better late then never right? Happy painting!
@@ChrisKempter am poor but painting gives me contempment
Grandma Moses never painted before she was 70.
I wish painting gave me contentment. It does on one hand and on the other hand it makes me frustrated and tests my patience.. im a instant gratification personality and I always work ….nothing seems to ever be play unless I’m watching my dogs run and play or some great movie…book. Painting is work and lots of learning curves. I also take it too seriously! Id rather work on a thing that results in a fine vessel of some useful kind or useful somethings. To me there is nothing useful about a painting on the wall more than mere decoration and I know how much work goes in to some of them….yet deep inside it seems trivial in the grand scheme of thing.. don’t know if that’s right. Im hoping it’s just a phase….sounds like depression too…. Everybody has different relationship with IT. painting….painting is the harder of any art I tried. Just need to know more about it. Acrylic to me is only half the process… it has some very frustrating ( to me) things about it.. it also alarms me when many painters settle in to a same thing different subject style. So called trademark… is that a goal? Why? Should it be?
@@cynthiamarston2208 learn patience first its hard i am still learning that in my life
BEAUTIFUL❤
You are amazing!!!I enjoy it 🤫🔴🫢
Thanks! 200K views!
❤ beautiful
❤️
Perfect story, great picture. My congratulation.
The depth is Amazing! KEEEP IT 🔥🔥
As a veteran drawer and a neophyte painter this video was a better teaching tool than Bob Ross. Not that Bob Ross isn't great at edifying people how to paint. This video was perfect for me. To see you mess up and paint through your error and find what you were looking for. To see the camera zoomed in and see you mix with color and experiment, to hear your process. I met my favorite artist Donato Giancola, he told me he took pictures of his family on the beach for his paintings. I'm thirty days into my big canvas painting and your video is guiding me. Thank you so much!
Thank you!! That means a lot!
Wow ✨
You are a natural talent. I am so happy for you that you found that you can create the magic.
Thanks! I appreciate that
💕🎨thanks for sharing 😊 beautiful !

Thanks for watching!
Finally, Congrats Chris on 200,000 views. Well done, let's see some more Western scenes! :)
Thanks! Coming soon!
Wonderful.
Wonderful drawing. I have followed you. I also love drawing since I was young and I stopped for years, but I came back to try again. I find many difficulties. I hope you will continue to teach us that you are now professional and creative. It is very beautiful what you said about your experience. I love you.❤
Grand pintor y dibujante felicidades desde España !
Great painting, You are not artists with a “” talent, you have a great magnificent talent.
What a wonderful video, this video reminds me of the book you randomly pick up in a library that ends up being the best book you've ever read. So much to take in on this painting.. I watched this video, 3 times. I paint abstract . Always had respect for landscapes. Could never do it though. Thank you for taking the time to create this video, edit and share.
De lujo 😊
great job!!!
Wow! Incredible 😮
Great video and amazing painting. I truly enjoyed watching it.
things you learn the hard way tend to stick with you better then the things that come easy. true
When our Amazing Lord was sculpting his master pieces he out did himself with the Kempters, Cris I believe he gave you a little more than his best, Stay Safe Stay Strong looking forward to Years of the sights and sounds of your talents, God love You and so do I🤟🏼🙋🏼♂️
I like how you paint.
I tend to do the same thing. I will finish a section or thing and then go on to the next thing.
My artist friend tried to help me correct that but when I tried it came out awful.
I need to build a little at a time instead of painting the entire picture and then refine it.
Your painting is beautiful
Thank you! Yeah, my process is a little weird but it works for me lol
Painters like this should be admired......they produce real and beautiful art that invokes in you an ambience of calm.....instead of taping bananas on a canvas
Thank you!
Beautiful. Amazing skills.
thats a good painting im impressed
I am glad that you persevered to create such a beautiful painting and to learn along the way. Thanks for sharing your inspirational story!
THAT PAINTING IS EPIC, KEEP IT UP ..
Thanks!!
Beautiful! What a master!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
What you said about creating something of your own and not just copy a photo: I can't agree with that. I am a wild life and portrait artist and painting a tiger or a human face needs to be exactly as they are on a photo! And it's art too!
I totally agree with you! I like painting ones in a while. During COVID time I was sitting at home bored and decided to try something new. I wanted to paint landscapes but I didn’t know how to, then I started to watch tutorials step by step and my first landscape with acrylics turned out very nice! After that I painted more , yes doing tutorials and I was very happy with the results. However , my husband kept saying well this is not your own creation because you are doing a copy of what other people paint and I don’t agree with him because I’m the one mixing the paints to get the right colors and I’m the one painting it!, I also change few things so is not necessarily a exact copy sooo I think people who look at a picture and paints it or do tutorials like me should get credits. Lol anyway, is just my humble opinion. One day I want to paint my own and in the mean time I will keep practicing . Thank you for reading. For the artist who made this video , congratulations! I love your painting! You are a great artist!
I almost NEVER leave TH-cam comments, but this video is SPECTACULAR!!! To listen to your process and how you arrived at where you are is soo incredible! That gift was in you all along, you just needed someone to encourage you to bring it forth! This video is a gem of spiritual insight. Soo many of us have gifts and talents beneath the surface just waiting to spring forth! May we all disCover those gems within us and bring them forth! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
MAGNIFICENT. If I had made it..I wouldn't have been able to scratch my head. True story. Thanks for sharing..all of it.

ps. didnt touch the biscuits
Lol no worries. They would be stale by the time I got to them.
im amazed at someone having the talent to do this Its the best I've ever seen and I'm 63
Masterpiece
Gorgeous! Spectacular! I'm a retired model maker from the 90s who worked in the film industry. Your work has inspired me to take up painting. Thank you fine sir!
The thing that totally stunned me watching you paint is how, after finishing a complete idea, whoosh... you paint right over it and begin again, and create a different idea; that's literally the art of 'letting go'.
Hello from France wonderfull story of a wonderfull painting, i enjoyed a lot.
A beautifull lesson of painting thank a lot. Frank
Chris, your work is unbelievable. keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
Persistence pays. Excellent job.
Thanks!
It was always so hard, for me, to try to paint, watching Bob Ross and never could do such work. But I could draw well. I did so , because drawing is free, and drawing and painting ceramics, since I was 5, but its different, but i grew up alone, and those 2 things, were mine. Nobody could take that away from me and run away with it. It was my only thing that i could do. Im still trying to paint on canvas. Im doing better. I didnt have art school either. So, im right there where you were..except im 54, now. But i sold 2 tiny paintings last month! A milestone, and im super proud. I hope i can be at your level, by this time next year. Still dreaming my dream. Its mine, cant be stolen. Thank God, Im able to dream.
Top notch! 😊
This is a real labour of love ❤
❤️
Just stumbled on this video , such a great inspiring story .
There are no words in the English language that can express how beautiful your painting is ! I truly love it !
Well said 👏
Thanks!
Preciate you
Great job Chris. Fantastic composition and capture of the love of a hard-working cowboy and his two kiddos.
Glad you enjoyed it
Doing great brother! Beautiful work. Once you get down the light source and how to work the color shading, it becomes something truly beautiful. I wish you all the best! God bless!
AMAZING!
Fabulous painting, no wonder it took so long. Just wonderful. Raewyn, Brisbane.
I am a trained commercial artist since way before photoshop and digital. Your story is amazing and your talent is fantastic.
Keep growing!
Wow thank you! I really appreciate that!
I am so glad this video popped up in my suggestions....Wow! Subscribed and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for subbing!
I absolutely love oils - most of my oil paintings take about 2 to 3 hours from start to finish.
Cool! Do you have an instagram?
@@ChrisKempter I do, it’s ornjonasar. 2 of my paintings are there; will have to post more. I also have a video of me doing one at the end of the days on a painting holiday - took me about 45 minutes - will post when I get the chance.
Your calm voice and this painting unfolding step by step put me in a whole diffrent world🔥
As a self-taught artist myself. I'm in awe with the beauty and depth of this painting.❤😍 It conveys a vivid imagery of western culture and hard work. I felt lucky coming across your video. It's my first time watching one of your paintings. And you've inspired me with your story to stay consistent & work harder.🥹 I've been struggling to keep up.
You did a wonderful job 👌🏼👍🏼
Wow So Amazing Beautyfull. Mutch Love From The Netherlands.
Keep GOIN🔥🔥
Thanks!
What is art? Art is story. All art is story. A photograph of something is the thing itself. The painting is the story of it. Story was the first art form and all art forms have that foundation. A story is a shared experience. All art is a shared experience. We need art because we need story because we need that shared experience.
this is awesome...one of the best work ive seen lately
So beautiful! Love this video. Subscribed. Can't wait to see more. You have a wonderful gift!
Outstanding Talent, Very enjoyable to watch and listen to !
Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you!
This is absolutely gorgeous! So talented.
Thanks!
I almost have no words for the thoughts going through my mind or the feelings I'm feeling right now. This is probably the best and most thoughtful, wholesome and well-done video I've ever seen. From the way you started out the video to the detailed shots of you painting to the cometary. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing yet enticing and it really put some thoughts into motion for me.
I have for some time now been wanting to start painting and very recently did something about it. Watching you paint like this, the painting itself and how it came along, has given me so much motivation and patience about the process.
Honestly when I first clicked on this and started to watch I had unconsciously presumed you were a big channel with several hundred thousand subscribers, not only because of the incredible quality of the video but your painting skills as well. I was mildly surprised when I realized otherwise.
Good job with this work, it really looks fantastic, and you amazed me.
Dude, those rocks are almost painfully detailed! I can't quit looking at them. The take away from this, I think, is don't second guess your mama's instinct. She already knew, You're truly gifted, brother.
Very nice. Good luck.
Thanks!
Even Picasso by itself will be astonished! Amazing 👏🙌🏻
?
This is so sick. Well done. Love the commentary. Keep going bro ...
Over 150,000 views now, and 8700 subscribers...going to 10000! Great job.
Thank you sir!
It's beautiful! I've recently started wet on wet landscapes. Watching Bill Alexander, and Bob Ross. It's a wonderful escape from reality for a while. I could never draw very well, but I have found that I can do those types of landscapes.
Very cool!
OMG, That is beautiful! I would love to have that hanging on my wall.
Would you be interested in a print? Thinking about getting some made.
WOW! Is all I can say
Thank you! That’s all I got.
Nice landscape. Congratulations. This what painting is about: a winding road, where sometimes you want something, but the canvas says another, and how we must change the point of view, and start all over... Comes and goes... Is the quest for a dream made of color and hard work
You should be a poet.
@@ChrisKempter that is a serious craftsmanship.... Words are precious..
Wow that is insane true talent!!!
Thanks!
I wanted to get started with oil paints but what I did was work with simulation software(Nintendo) and I found I was able to develop my skills very quickly because there's no drying time when your working on a device. But I feel I know how to paint, in a way that would have taken many years of study. Looking at your work inspired me to try acyrilics. So, thank you for that.
I love this painting and your commentary about true creativity. All my own paintings are landscapes with trees and valleys, horses, birds and much more; just like yours except I don’t use any reference material or preconceived ideas of what I’m painting- I just make it up as I go along. Is that true creativity?
I think that’s the truest form of art.
I’d love to see your work.
Incredible and beautiful painting man.. i would love have that on my wall!!
Sadly it is one of a kind :), he is offering to do prints of it though (see other video clip pt2)
