So these are my comments and take away what you will, I think it took a lot of confidence, to get in front of a camera in order to share "your" passion with us, I also totally get the nerves being new, in front of a camera and as time goes on you will learn...you will better your craft and it will definitely come across the camera. I personally have been painting off and on for over 20 years, I have taught classes, from beginners to intermediate, you will be critiqued from all just remember you can not and "will" not please everyone. However I do know you will give "someone" insight to your passion and they will want to try and continue....and that my friend is what makes the difference awesome job!!! I plan on painting this one for sure!!! Thank you Justin

I like this painting, but please remember to hold up steady (not moving your hand) the brushes you start using, just for a few seconds so viewers can see what kind of brush it is. I would really like to know what brush you used to put the snow on the pine trees. It came out lovely. I have to say I liked the big foreground tree on the right better before you put the dark red on. It is a very serene scene. Thanks.

Just attempted one of your painting this morning. Mine didn’t turn our like yours!! I won’t give up though. I am a Bob Ross painter, and I wonder, why don’t you under Paint? Are you not a wet on wet artist? I added liquid white, then did your Tree in the Forest. It is ok, but not like yours, I will try again.

Very nice painting mate . As not a criticism but yes as a constructive observation and a matter of opinion, I think the snowy tree leafs should be more hi lighted looking , more as frozen and winter look or though no leafs at all as an option look and I think that would put another and better dimensional to the painting ! Other than than that , it’s a beautiful and skilful painting. Well done Justin .
Hey Justin! Love your style and enjoy your videos very much. Could you please clarify one thing for me: in one of the comments you said you used Gamblin solvent free gel, whilst in another you said you covered the canvas with white paint + solvent. Which is it, please, and where did you use it, top, bottom, covered the whole thing? Whatever you used, it holds the brush strokes really well, very different from liquid white. Would love to give this one a try, but I'm a beginner, so need a lot of details. Looking forward to your response. Best wishes from England!

Do you use odorless thinner? How often do you clean your brushes during the painting?
I do use thinner. I never clean them during a painting. Only after. I always like to let the colors interact with others. It makes a better more fluent painting.

Do you use anything on the canvas before you start to paint? Like Clear or Liq White?
I take white Paint and use paint thinner and put that on the canvas. It’s not the same as liquid white cause the thinner dries quickly. Gives that wet surface for the amount of time I need

I love all the colors in this painting. The hazy blue grey trees in the background and the big tree just topped it off. I can’t wait to paint this one.
Question: What did you see or not see in the painting that influenced you to add the larger tree to the front of the painting. New to painting and trying to learn about perspective, etc. Thank you for sharing your paintings.
