This is great! Furthermore, you can use DOODS for person recognition to automate the screen turning on/off just when you're in front of it, which MASSIVELY decreases your power consumption.

I haven't played with DOODS, I'll have to take a look.

You asked for ideas for things I'd like to see. Just as a suggestion: I haven't seen much about using HA as a HomeKit Controller. This is where HomeKit devices can be added into HA using the native HomeKit Controller integration. This is different to the HomeKit bridge. I wonder how easy this is to use of you don't have an iPhone or iPad. Just a thought.

      Great suggestion!

Sure, I've got a new "Dashboard Customisation" video in the pipeline so I'll be sure to spend some time on that part.

I am contemplating a cheep ipad tablet for a wall mount scenario - is it possible to integrate the tablets camera into HA as a camera?

Unlikely. Apple's Privacy Controls around Camera and Microphone access would make this extremely difficult and it's certainly not native to the iOS version of the app. it Might be possible on an Android tablet.

Been wanting to do this for YEARS! Kept putting it off using 'I didn't know how' as an excuse.
Now I have to find a new excuse.

If it's on HA then better no. Enormous security holes and when you want to address them "developers" will ban you from official forum without discussion. Second thing is constant stability issues - Lets face it HA is tinkerers platform not something to be treated seriously. Only crazy person will base his home security on this project. Another thing is that "forum" seems strongly politically inclined - yes even on this platform. People like Zack or rest of "developers" were banning russian developers:))))) Which is really ridiculous. Please stop selling this security scam platform.

This is a fun environment, with a friendly vibe. Nobody considers this a high security environment.

Firstly, it's an open source platform, nobody's selling anything. If I find something better I will consider switching, but that day has yet to come
Secondly, What stability issues are you talking about? I've been running HA for years and I think it's crashed once. For something I've not paid for, I'd say that's pretty good. If you NEED super high security in your home, Buy a commercial Solution, but even those aren't much more than a method to alert you/police about a break-in.
Thirdly - Not trying to get political, but -
Sanctions are in place against Russia for a reason.
It's not ridiculous at all to ban Russian Developers from contributing to the platform.
Whether programmers have had anything to do with the War in Ukraine is irrelevant.
Sanctions are a tool to put pressure on the leadership of a country - by their own people - to get them to stop whatever action caused them to get the sanction in the first place.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine is indefensible, and anybody who says otherwise isn't welcome here.
As Claire says, this is supposed to be a fun environment. If you don't want to see content about Home Assistant, don't watch it!
All you do by leaving negative comments on a page is improve my engagement, making TH-cam promote my video more.

If there's something specific you're wanting to learn maybe let me know what it is though, rather than just complaining you learnt nothing.
