  • Hey Everyone!
In this POV Street Photography video you will see my picture results using Kodak Portra 400, color negative film, in my old Olympus OM-1, analog film camera, shooting in the Melbourne CBD.
I have to say, I really enjoyed the experience and the change of pace compared to my normal street Photography style, when using my Fujifilm x100v, with a speed light.
It wasn't that I was doing analog Photography alone, I guess it was more to do with the tactile experience, I think what I mostly enjoyed was having to be more present in the moment, selecting what I wanted to photograph, knowing I only had a maximum of 36 - exposures and not being able to "chimp" every shot, needing to take more care with my composition and exposure, as I can't just check-it like we do on the back of a digital camera immediately nowadays, if you get what I mean.
I was also blessed with a beautiful warm, sunny day, I guess that added to my positive experience too.
I noted "everybody under the age of say 35-yrs, that I had contact with on the day all seemed intrigued about the old analogue Oly in my hand, wanting to know more about it? Many were keen to tell me about their own analog photography adventures as well. Analogue photography is certainly popular in 2022, that's for sure!
It was so much fun! I think I will be doing a lot more analogue Photography throughout the rest of this year!
As a hobby, I find Photography to be very therapeutic, particularly when doing it solo, be it urban street photography or rural landscape or seascape photography. I can say it definitely relaxes me, I enjoy watching the world go around, observing everyday life and capturing a moment in time, in my time.. If you haven't tried it yet you should give it a go! It's amazing!
A big thank you to all the beautiful people who appear in this video!
    Thanks for watching!
Peace to the the world ✌️

Beautiful shots friend. That’s art. One question: at what speed did you take the photos with moving people?

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting😎 If I used flash, I would’ve stuck to the camera flash sync speed, everywhere else shot with ambient light, I usually set my shutter speed to around 1/500th of a second. ✌️

Hi, thanks for watching and your great questions. If I used a flash, I would've stuck to the camera flash sync speed…I think it’s 1/60, everywhere else where I shot with ambient light, I usually set my shutter speed to around 1/500th of a second to freeze the action. As for my Aperture…sorry I can’t recall. Most likely it was set around f/4 -f/5.6 or even f/8 range. I hope that helps. ✌️
