  • INSTAGRAM SUPER POLL SPECIAL! Sorry it's taken so long to get here. For those that participated in the story voting: thank you! For this video I took the winning Ricoh R10 and film Kodak Tri-X 400 into Melbourne's CBD for some street photography. Wasn't too bad either! The little R10 is a real winner and Tri-x really ticks my boxes. I've been loving Black and White film for such a long time and I'm really seeing why Tri-X is such a go-to for many photogs. Thanks for voting and I'll see you in the next one!

    Loving this music ! Nothing goes with the street photos quite like a jazzy beat :) I like how you show your shots in like a gallery matte of white screen, not just edge to edge...nice touch...

      Thanks LAKEYINSPIRED makes a smooth beat! I much prefer the white background with the image in the middle, makes for a much more pleasing viewing experience 👍

    Great video! Do you know how to deactivate the flash on the Ricoh?

    • @JCStreet
      @JCStreet  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, you’ve gotta press the flash button 3 times, only works when the camera is on though. Hope that helps!

    Hi, can you share all the different phrases that the camera can imprint on photos? Been searching for this info. but haven't found it. Thanks!

      It’s a mode I have not explored!

    Do you use the single focus mode on the r10?

  • @idolazari8714
    @idolazari8714 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you recommend the R10? Do you know how prone to malfunctions is it in regards to other Ricoh cameras or to the gr1 for example? I'm curious about buying one. Other than that, awesome photos.

    • @JCStreet

      I recommend it against the GR1 series for one simple reason: Price. It’s not going to cost you much more than $150 to get one so if it dies it’s no big deal. It’s got the same issues as the GR series does with the LCD and lacks a snap mode. BUT it’s got a decent 30mm f3.5 lens - if you’re keen on a GR but can’t stomach it the R10 is a good starting point. Good luck!

      @@JCStreet how long do you have yours? I'm trying to figure out the life span of the r10

    • @JCStreet
      @JCStreet  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve had mine for a couple of years now bought it off of eBay. I just kept my eye out for one that looked pretty much new in box with a working LCD. Isn’t going to cost you more than $150 really. Keep in mind, there is an inherent risk with buying old electronics that they could just stop working - nobody is repairing these cameras anymore which is why I don’t own a GR1v: if it dies I’ve got a $1000 paper weight!

      @@JCStreet you're absolutely right. I just wish they'd go back making film cameras again and fix those silly issues. There's a large niche of photographers that prefer Film

      Yup! I heard that JCH is working on something new... will have to see what he comes up with! Almost all the “premium” point and shoots aren’t worth it any more cause their failure rate is going to start increasing

    Im just wondering why you would shoot a colorful subject such as walls of graffitti with black and white film.....

      Because I’m horrible at what I do 🤣
