The Marines were part of the Navy until WWI when they became their own branch because of how hard they fought and how masterfully people behind the scenes did PR for them. They went from a group very few people knew of in 1913 to the stars of the show by 1919. The history of the First World War is incredible and I wish more people knew it in depth.

In the Asurmen novel, the Eldar empire is described before the fall, the chaos cults are known, but still the minority, and it seems like a inquisition would have nipped that in the bud.

So, it's been about 2 weeks binging your channel. I gotta know; do you game, or just read all the novels and lore books? What's your legion look like? I wanna see it! I never played 40k, but when I was a kid, one of my sitters did. I was always fascinated watching him put together and paint Gene stealers and space Marines. Got me into gaming in general, especially ad&d (I came in at the beginning of 2nd edition) and I quickly became our groups miniature painter, painting people's choice figurines into thier preferred visage, and occasionally painting heros from the books. Drizzt was a favorite as were later model dwarves (from 'chainmail' series)
And to this day, one of my favorite concepts is the "space marine". 40k still has better space Marines, though. So much history, tradition, and Gene manipulation. Doom marine and master chief can eat thier shorts
I haven't had a chance to play 8th edition yet as I'm still recovering from spinal issues so have been unfortunately pretty housebound for the past 2 years >_< But I've been in the hobby since second edition :)

Is the ordo that monitors documents responsible for destroying unwanted records? I recall several books where mysterious burn teams were engaged in wholesale destruction of books, Imperial histories, and priceless other records in order to purge Imperial records of something they didn’t want anybody to know. They didn’t appear to know exactly where that information was so they burned entire wings of buildings just to be sure. Some were operating on Terra itself.

personally i think i would adopt a radical philosophy, and from i understand from the eisenhorn books, there seems to a bit of infighting in the inquisition between the puritans and the radicals
what I mean is that anti grav seems pretty rare in the imperium unless its very small scale like a servo skull, cherub, or grapplehawk. are there any examples in books of air cars, I know it was mentioned it the first Ciaphas Cain book but i'm pretty sure he was referring to a tau transport. so what tech level might a world need to be at or how important do you have to be to get one rather then something like an shuttle such as a aquilla lander.

The thing that irked me most, was the pronunciation of some words. Such as the Grey Knight’s Ordo. I may be wrong, but the Imperium has quite often used words in a pseudo Latin, and as such, have a very different pronunciation. Maybe Gothic is English, read like Latin, and with a British accent... I would love to be proven wrong/right by a video
In all seriousness, the Inquisition is probably the most screwed up organization in the Imperium. One person sneezes and suddenly, EVERYONE DIES. That and as a Blood Raven, I frown upon this organization. Mostly the Ordo Malleus being denser than ceramite on hiding our genetic heritage. Like it's some *big* thing. The thing that irked me most, was the pronunciation of some words. Such as the Grey Knight’s Ordo. I may be wrong, but the Imperium has quite often used words in a pseudo Latin, and as such, have a very different pronunciation. Maybe Gothic is English, read like Latin, and with a British accent... I would love to be proven wrong/right by a video

In all seriousness, the Inquisition is probably the most screwed up organization in the Imperium. One person sneezes and suddenly, EVERYONE DIES.
That and as a Blood Raven, I frown upon this organization. Mostly the Ordo Malleus being denser than ceramite on hiding our genetic heritage. Like it's some *big* thing.

Malik al-Rawandi I understand. I detest the Inquisition myself. They're up there with the Ecclesiarchy on my list of most disliked Imperial organisations/factions. At the same time, I can see why they are a necessary evil. Things might be a little bit more worse without them unfortunately, what with Chaos around the corner, the blueberries and their alien ideology brazenly taking Imperial planets, and a whole host of cults and rebels.

You are right, however. Their existence is needed but the scope they cover is much too large. Then again, its grimdark bureaucracy so it fits.
