40K Theories thank you! My girlfriend has been asking me to share my interests with her for months but I've always been hesitant to share 40k with her because there wasn't any way to introduce her to it without overwhelming her. This is incredibly helpful!
Marionette Du Auguste You can have a girlfriend and play 40k at the same time? Is this change - no, change = heresy - you are a heretic! Jokes aside, good for you. More things for you and your girl to do together. Anu Cheeki Breeki vi Damke!

@Lord Skeletor well 40k theories lore for new comers is a good place to start. But look on channels like Luetin09 or Arch warhammer if you wanna go balls deep into the lore. Just a reminder that while arch makes good lore videos it is a pretty political channel so steer clear of certain vids if that's not your bag. here's a few playlists just find something that looks interesting and go from there. Good luck brother! th-cam.com/play/PLl6BRvEJ-auZ5aYPHj1B3pKJ_pLjg9qNU.html th-cam.com/play/PLx6N3LVwgba2DoXWGXq-lANYAamQTsWw9.html
Agreed. Last time I played Warhammer the table top version was....10-12 years ago. Since coming back into it, I have seen alot has changed, and it is diffuclt for me to process it all. So I am looking forward to this series somewhat like a refresher course haha.
I prefer to worship the emperor by slaying the traitors of mankind, daemons and foul xenos, rather than constantly bowing down and asking for help, rather than yourself helping the imperium survive and buy some more time for the emperor to rise again. I deem your way of worshipping of the emperor as fruitless and therefore heretical.
But feel no shame as long as you're willing to redeem yourself brother. I myself have done my fair share of mistakes i had to pay for, i was originally meant to toil my life away in manufactorum, while my brothers went to war because i was deemed too weak, so i went doing deliberate crimes just so i could get into the penal legions, from where i made my true purpose come true. Only a combat knife and sorry excuse for armor allowed me to along with my colleagues to stop several planned exterminatus from happening, 20ish orks, 14ish eldars and other filth. If only those khornate wankers stopped trying to convince me to join them, makes them too easy of a target.

Thank you so much for this series. I'm looking forward to learning more about the cultural, socio-political, and general badassness of this universe!!!
Thank you for doing this I can now show moar easily my friends the way to the Emperor's side. I mean TB's lore in a minute is great and all but very small.
Glad to hear the normal 40k theories stuff is continuing. There are many questions about the nature of the warp and existence after death that need to be addressed. Here's a thought for the day: a quote from the novel Deathfire made by Salamander librarian, Ushamann, to the shipmaster, Abyssian, who is considering giving up his soul to a daemon. "There is no surrender for you or I, shipmaster. A soul is not consumed and then at peace. It will burn forever in eternal torment." So there we have it - more evidence that every human with a soul suffers for eternity in the warp after death. Consumption by a daemon means to suffer eternally at its hands, which is consistent with Eldar souls being consumed by Slaanesh and then suffering for eternity.
The vast majority of souls almost certainly just dissipate in the Warp, not being promised to any demon and thus with no one on hand to fish them out of the entropic environment of the Immaterium. Eldar souls go to Slaanesh when they die because their hand in creating Her binds them to Her essence, although the creation of Ynnead has put a stop to this for now. But yeah, most people die, end up in the Warp, and have their souls ripped apart absolutely.
This is a great way to get more acquainted with the Warhammer 40k universe. That along with the Warhammer 40k (Horus Heresy) Lore in a Minute and a dash of Bruva Alfabusa.
A great initiative to possibly recruit more people to bask in Nurgle's glory and give their souls and body to him! Welcome! Nurgle is the only god who will ever truly love you!
Thanks for this series Rem! I'll be playing a one shot of Wrath and Glory this weekend and I've sent this series to a friend who knows very little about the setting(outside of my ramblings I've bothered him with anyways)
So, there's two all-female military factions (Sisters of Silence & Sisters of Battle) and two all-male military factions (Space Marines & Custodians). ...so, uhm... ...why was there a thing about that before?
there's some stuff I didn't know about the imperium but hopefully your newcomer series will be a success ( p.s even though the emperor isn't simular to God in real life but he still has powers )
I gotta admit this is probably the best explaining lore about 40K cuz it's like a history documentary in a way perfect for newcomers I will it recommended to a few friends who have been slightly interested in it I tried explaining the lore once but I'm no Arch or you or other people who are lore Wizards I'm just a 17 year old with big least an a intermediate/just about to get to expert level of knowledge and not the greatest at explaining things so yeah PS is there an actual name for the Imperial Navy that's adeptus and some other word because it feels like an odd man out at least to me
Not strictly a question about history so much as general lore, but this has been bugging me since forever. Psykers are the future, right? Big E was trying to shepherd us through our transition into something more like him, evolving into 'the new man' by the long and painful route his creation shortcut through millennia before. So why the hell does everything (even the bits the Emperor personally mandated while he was still... fleshy) about the Imperium seem purpose-built to kill, neuter, cage and waste Psychics at every available opportunity? Seriously, from the look of things I'd say it's incredibly rare for a Psyker to ever reproduce. That's a real crappy way to guide Mankind through their evolution, if you ask me.
because everyone hates psykers nobody knew about big Es plan (save maybe sanguineous and magni magic) and they were just too fucking hated to be open about it and nowadays psykers have a bad habit of falling to chaos so they need to be controlled
Because every Psyker is a potential gateway for a demon invasion. Until either the majority of the population are Psykers or the Imperium have an effective way of screening for and shielding all its Psykers as the Emperor intended, then every Psyker will be treated as a dangerous threat. Which is exactly what they are.
Man oh man, is he going to be pissed when Girlyman somehow deus-ex's his bony ass back to life. "Okay boys, tell me wha-OWW! What did you do, you raging fucktards???"
IIRC, initially everyone one chill about psykers being a thing; Then the whole eldar fucking up big time happened, demonic posessions happened and psykers became potential extreminatuses.
Thanks for the video. I never paid attention to this before but the solar segmentum is located in an area of the milky way galaxy that is completely different from where non fiction analysis & science says earth is located in the milky way galaxy. Earth is supposed to be located on the Orion spur. Where as in 40k, terra does not look to be located on the Orion spur. Even still it may be close. This may in fact conclude that 40k does not exist within in the same linear dimension of time as our earth. This would explain why physics in 40k are different from our form of physics, it would also explain why 40k describes the galaxy in the form of east or west. In our dimension, because the universe is dynamic and not static there is no 2 dimensional concept of east and west in outer space. Where as in 40k there is a constant north, eastern Fringe, and so on. Thanks again for the video. This has stood out to me today more than before. For those that argue that 40k exists in the same linear dimension of time as our own earth, I suppose they could argue that the earth, galaxy, or universe has taken some type of shift or change in the future that defies the current rules of physics.
dear 40k theories, i really enjoy this series of videos because i am a bit of a newcomer to the warhammer 40k universe, and i hope the you will make more. i also have some quistiosn for you. 1) are there any warhammer 40 novel that you would reconmend for a newcomer, I am very interested in the universe but not that much in the tabletop game, so i would like some good stuff to read. 2) could you make a video about what would happend if the imperium of man would ally them selv with other xeno races, llike the eldar of the tau, and what effect that might have on the galaxy? sincerly yours. I plan to keep making more of these newcomer videos don't worry :) In regards to a novel series to ease yourself into the 40K lore I'd recommend either the Eisenhorn series or the Gaunts Ghosts one.
i have 2 questions about the iron halos, i know that these nifty things can reduce the force of anything that comes in it field even some energy attack, first off, can a space marine have multiple halos(like say 3 one where you'd expect the halo and 2 attached to the shoulder pads) and would the power of the field be stronger, larger, or more efficient in what it does, second thing can it be used like a weapon, it uses a gravity field that improves defense almost similar to power weapons, could the halo be used to improve the striking force of melee strikes. i'm just wondering
Not sure why the Custodes, would let some random person have an audience with the Emperor, it's not like he has much to say! But if I would be granted an audience and if 40K is possible alternative future, like many other franchises, are possible alternative realities, I have but one question, Was Half Life 3 ever made & so when, were, was their DLC, please oh mighty lord of Mankind, answer me this, and if not to the Warp with you!?
While this covers a lot of ground rather well, I question whether the best way to introduce people to 40k is by beginning with the organized details and specific historical events. Until someone is already familiar to some degree with the medievalism of the setting and the seemingly unavoidable set of factors that create it, it's going to be hard to connect with much of 40k's lofty top-down information.
The Imperium and the Emperor need to work to replace the Emperor, his days are numbered so a more powerful psychic is needed. Perhaps perform a mass sacrifice of psychics as they did thousands of years ago to create the Emperor
Short answer: A dystopian hellhole. Slightly less short answer: Some imperial worlds are decent or even utopian, but most have at best sub-modern standards. Long answer: ERROR. Comment exceeded maximum character limit.
It is true brother, but regardless of praise or the lack thereof, it is our righteous duty to continue in our service of the Emperor. VULKAN LIVES! *stomp stomp*
Chapter Master Tu'shan Our chapter are not glory seekers like our cousins. We know what our purpose is and we do it well. Knowing lives have been saved are enough for a son of Nocturne.
The navigators are a pretty blatant ripoff of the Guild Navigators of Frank Herbert's timeless series, Dune. I dont really mind. If you're gonna rip something off, you might as well do it from one of the gods of science fiction writing. The fucking pseudo-latin names for all of this shit is very very confusing to the newcomer. Nick Rekieta's stream last night got me into the lore of 40k, and he mentioned your channel. These videos are great!
Thank you for this. But I think the style was a bit slow to my liking. Others are of course welcome to chime in on this, but I found myself wanting to skip parts just because they took so long to say :)
I'd just like to say this channel is great, but this one was let's say poorly done. When he mentioned the warhound titan he showed us a image of a reaver ( I'm aware that a warhound was in the background) but if you were new to 40k you'd think the reaver was a warhound, also he didn't mention the steal legion or the dark angels
I didn't mention every Imperial Guard regiment or Space Marine chapter because this is just a basic overview for newcomers to the hobby, otherwise the video would go on for several hours just mentioning all the thousands of chapters and regiments
You'll still be getting the theory videos every Monday as usual. This beginners series is mainly just to cover the main factions/most important characters as a reference point or refresher course to those new to 40K or coming back to it, as I have been requested to do these multiple times by multiple people on social media.
The Imperium encompasses the entire galaxy for all intents and purposes. So yes officially it will contain millions of worlds. Roughly the Galaxy consists of an estimated 100 thousand million stars. If we assume that each star has only one world orbiting it to consist of a system (as opposed to 2-10) and 1% of those systems is under Imperial control that still leaves the Imperium with around a billion worlds under its control.

This stuff is fascinating. I love the artwork and the lore. We need this on HBO, once Game Of Thrones ends.
I'm going to recommend this video to any newcomer to 40k, it is that good.
The best thing since the dark age of technology
Sadly the technology for sliced bread has long since been lost.

I'm glad I found this channel. This is my first video and I'm a new sub. Can't wait to explore all the content that you have.
your videos are always helpful for understanding the lore of 40k!
Thanks for this, I knew most of this but it gives me a rather good frame of reference. So thanks again

The fucking pseudo-latin names for all of this shit is very very confusing to the newcomer. Nick Rekieta's stream last night got me into the lore of 40k, and he mentioned your channel. These videos are great!
SPACE WOLVES!!!
(Shape shifts)
FUCKING FURRIES!!!
Isn't this stuff more arch's domain?
Thank you for this. But I think the style was a bit slow to my liking. Others are of course welcome to chime in on this, but I found myself wanting to skip parts just because they took so long to say :)
Well... here we go, I guess.
Sound work.
9m seems a little stumpy for a IK?
Who is?
Arbites dredd
Hey look it’s 2020 America
For The Emperor!!!
I didn't mention every Imperial Guard regiment or Space Marine chapter because this is just a basic overview for newcomers to the hobby, otherwise the video would go on for several hours just mentioning all the thousands of chapters and regiments
astra mili what?
Whats a warhammer?
Its a hammer... that you wage war with.
A big hammer.
When making a mini knife ( Nepalese kukuri)
I cut my thigh open
Kinda proud
InB4 "better than arch *insert generic shit insult here* hammer
You should curse more like Arch Warhammer.
THERE ARE ALREADY TOO MANY CHANNELS DOING THIS SHIT, GIVE US MORE THEORIES INSTEAD, OR EVEN ADVANCED LORE VIDS.
You'll still be getting the theory videos every Monday as usual. This beginners series is mainly just to cover the main factions/most important characters as a reference point or refresher course to those new to 40K or coming back to it, as I have been requested to do these multiple times by multiple people on social media.
"Millions if not billions of worlds"... I'm pretty sure the Imperium only has approximately one million worlds
TTS did better ;)
"What Is... The Imperium Of Man?"
Catholic Space Nazi's, done
Still not as good for an imperial introduction as the heretics scene from text to speech
In fairness nothing can top that.
Remleox you made a bad video unsubrbd
The Imperium doesnt contain millions or billions of planets
The Imperium encompasses the entire galaxy for all intents and purposes. So yes officially it will contain millions of worlds. Roughly the Galaxy consists of an estimated 100 thousand million stars. If we assume that each star has only one world orbiting it to consist of a system (as opposed to 2-10) and 1% of those systems is under Imperial control that still leaves the Imperium with around a billion worlds under its control.
I guess that means "Worlds within their domain" and not necessarily colonized worlds?
Bruva Ebee thats not to bring up the RUSSIA sized ships flying around...
