Dude, I just want to say you've been a lifesaver. I got a 2016 FXT a few months ago and nearly everything you're doing to yours is what I want to do to mine. Thanks for basically being the only guy who has extensive mod coverage on this generation of FXT.
I guess your XT comes with the H&K system, so what harness and canbus did you use to get the pioneer radio installed with the original auto connectors? Another question please, why does the Pioneer radio needs the ODB port? Thanks in advance,
Shouldve got a Joiyng or Dasaita and do the install yourself andsave a bunch or money and time. Ive had a 10” in my 2011 Legacy gt and a smaller 7” Joying in my 2004 Forester XT. I have a 2017 Forester Xt Touring now and have the Carpuride, but looking to put in. A 10” double din Joying so i dont need to look at 2 screens. With Pioneer , Sony etc, they are maybe better if you are going to hook up more external amps or go fustom, but the Dasaita and Joying have byilt in DSP or digital sound processing that make your stock system sound bteere. Add the canbus wiring and you,l keep your steering wheel controls and its all plug and play.
Hey does your navigation just plug into the back of that unit as well? Also what about stock back up cam? I have a 2017 Subaru Outback Limited. So I’m really only missing Apple CarPlay, which I want. But would also like to keep Navi and back up cam.
Anyone know if this system will fit/work with a 2015 legacy limited? Just bought the car and I want to upgrade the infotainment to have Apple CarPlay but I want to to look flush with the surrounding plastic mold trim.
Hey bro I live close by on LI. I have a 2015 FXT touring, factory Nav and HK sound system. Just installed a Pioneer DMH-2660NEX and used the install kit from Crutchfield. Maestro RR and the Idatalink SU2 harness... the included harness for the backup camera is driving me nuts. Did you plug the included secondary camera screen harness that comes with the SU2 harness to the factory harness behind the MFD and then plug the splitter to the MFD and then plug the RCA end to the video input on that back on the Head Unit? Its driving me crazy I can't get the backup camera to show on the Pioneer, I just get a black screen in reverse. I know I can call Crutchfield but hoping you might have a faster answer since we both have an SJ and NEX system.
Sorry man the wiring work on cars is always out of my scope of knowledge so I just brought it to the pros. I'm not sure what they did tbh but it works!
@@TheHumanCarJack haha no worries, I hate electrical myself. I'm gonna call Crutchfield tomorrow. Appreciate you getting back to me so quick. Stay safe
@@soggywaters yes I did, I had to take some more dash apart to get the included harness ran where I needed it to be behind the MFD display but it worked. One end plugs into the back of the screen and the other plugs into the factory plug that was plugged into the back of the screen. So it maintains both the MFD display and also mirrors that rear view camera onto the headunit. It basically plugs in like a splice. I actually ordered a custom harness from HarnessHaus and then realized I could in fact use the harness that came with the Maestro kit from Crutchfield. So I have an extra brand new harness if you happen to be local and need one lol.
Hey man. I just had the 4600 unit installed, BUT I noticed your unit is flush with the bracket. Mine was installed recessed back about a quarter inch!! Why’s is that? What mounting brackets did y’all use? Help please!!
I didn't need to buy the module for the SWC for it to work on my Kenwood unit, I just needed to program the buttons too it, unless the USDM wiring ect is different to the AUDM?
How is FM/AM reception? My Kenwood DDX9906XR just flat out doesn't get anything. I've tried all different wire combinations, powered, whatever.. Nothing works.

Happy to help!
Want to know what app was blurred
I installed the phone microphone in the stock location where the eye glass holder is. A couple screws and pop clips and gives it a nice clean look

Nice! Will this head unit work on the 2018 forester sport?
About to do this on my Forester. Why did you select this head unit? Is this currently the best on the market for wireless android auto?

No problem. Yeah they should be able to help. You too man
Did you ever figure it out with the install kit from Crutchfield?

They might be
How is FM/AM reception? My Kenwood DDX9906XR just flat out doesn't get anything. I've tried all different wire combinations, powered, whatever.. Nothing works.
Works perfectly
How does the reverse camera work with it?
The guys hooked it up and it works perfectly
How about the backing camera, did it work?
Yep, it all works
Can I get an estimate of how much this might cost if I take it to a shop requesting this Pioneer system upgrade. Just ballpark.
For the installation only, you mean, right?
Did you have to change your Harmon kardon amp? My2way maestro speaker only have bass coming out.
I don't have Harmon Kardon
Same for me. Removed the 2 way put the maestro tweeter up front and the woofer to rear door. Stock sub woofer on front door
What damper settings do you have your BC Racing BR Coilovers set to. I also drive in Flushing.
The absolute softest
oh nice. was looking for a new head unit. Where did u get the surround parts?
All parts will be listed in video description!
Hey man what state are u un i have an 18 forester xt and i want to know if that shop is close by

I have the same car - were you able to get it installed with no issues? I'm in California.
Yep no issues
Wish they could get rid of the pioneer logo on the bottom
