Great video, I'm glad there's someone in the SJ XT community who keeps it real with issues that they have along the way. Looking forward to your next updates, and good luck with figuring out the WRX/STI trans swap!
Hey im also in NY, long island and just got my 2018 FXT and looking for exactly what your looking for but I plan to be much more reserve. The stock is cool but looking to just go stage 1 and do a pro tune just to pull more out of the car with only a sti cat back and AEM box filter as far as mods. Havent out a Cobb AP yet but definitely looking to do so after knowing I can tune and still use the car as a daily driving car
What is the update? I've been having a similar problem as I recently had a S2 block install with this same turbo added but after just 2k miles ish my car started smoking mostly after cold starts and sitting at a light for a bit; car shouldn't be smoking as everything is new; makes me loose all confidence in repair shops and part manufacturers.
Hey boss I’m just doing a stage 1 tune intake and invidia exhaust I still got my cats you think the car should be fine with just stage 1 and do you have a stage 2
You'll make a little bit extra power. Nothing crazy but it'll be fun. I'm at like stage 4 lol I've done everything except manifold, front mount intercooler and transmission swap
@@TheHumanCarJack thanks just got it done went with a local shop Cobb tune pro tune with accesport on the mustang dyno with just aem intake and invidia exhaust with cars is saying 257hp 337tq don’t know how legit that is
Oil: 160-180 daily driving not pushing it. 190+ on hot days with prolonged driving or spirited driving CVT temp: 120-140 daily driving not pushing it. 150+ on hot days with prolonged driving or spirited driving
@@TheHumanCarJackit'd be good if u could share.... I've been following your channel for awhile and seeing all the mods that you add but wonder how much more performance gain you are getting (from a 0 to 60 perspective)
I have never performed one nor do I plan on it. For one, 0-60 is a great way to blow the CVT and two, 0-60 times aren't practical to me. I'd rather time it from a roll or push it on a track/mountain road
I feel your pain. Before I got rid of my XT I had put about $6,000 in just regular maintenance since may 2020 The following gave me the finger Valve cover gaskets CVT transmission seal Transmission CV joint seal Catalytic converter And some sort of undiagnosed intermitting engine issue. Subaru couldn't figure out what the issue was and the dealership was unable to diagnose the issue even though they had it in their possession for a month 1/2. And because of the rising prices for used vehicles I traded my Forester in for a Toyota Tacoma they offered me nearly double the market price. Even though there was a accident on the Carfax.

Did you ever get the turbo fixed and reinstalled? Wondering what happened lol did the replacement work out? Or you just left the oem turbo?

I thought I blew a turbo in my ej swapped brat once and realized I just forgot to tighten the bpv bolts so it was just a boost leak 😂
Dang man start all over again sheeeeeeeesh.
Nah cars running now
