Great video mate! Another great video full of useful information on doing the +T conversion. I’ve recently completed a BF XR6 +T. Highly recommend it to anyone. Very affordable option that can produce plenty of reliable power for the money.
Very good video! All spelt out in plain english. I have a similar plan to this one, just waiting for existing running gear to die, which may take a while.
Love this .. I have a territory. And wanna turbo it this helped so much , if you could just point me in the direction of that piping bit , the ba bf stock turbo pipe hit that goes over. The top please thankyou and wouldn’t mind a detailed parts list
The piping is all factory and readily available on marketplace or eBay. I’ve done a video of all the parts, hopefully that helps cheers NA Barra Turbo Conversion - What you need and How Much $$$ th-cam.com/video/2cjEcqXCokE/w-d-xo.html
I just got myself a bf xr6 for $1200 and its probably the best bargain I’ve ever had 🤘 I’m currently working on getting everything I need to turbo it, I’m keen to get some boost into it
Sick video bro was really help full. I’m currently trying to turbo my 2003 xt ba Falcon with 83,000ks on it. I just wanted to know what factory parts you used and what exact after market parts u bought and used. And would like to know how much it all cost. Thanks ❤️
@@oldskoolonly I’ve got a fg turbo set up etc for my na ba do you not think it will be okay for a bit with no tune what will happen will it just go bang
@jessegallagher-c3u you’ll be able to drive it but I wouldn’t be throwing a lot of boost at it because it’ll be too lean and you’ll burn out the pistons
Hey mate. How much did the tune cost. Im thinking of chucking a turbo on 2005 ba xr6 NA. I see you payed about 2k for the turbo set up. Seem cheap way to go. Seems easy. Great video mate. 😃 can i do this same set up you did to your bf ute. New to the barra world 🌎
Nice! No not really, I replaced the transmission with a turbo btr and upgraded the intercooler for a bigger version to help reduce heat soak. Made a massive difference. It’s been my daily for over 3 years now
Yeah it’s still motoring along well. Definitely recommend a bigger intercooler than standard but apart from that, don’t overdo the psi and you’ll have a great reliable 350hp daily 👍🏻
I can’t remember, it’s been over 3 years since I did the conversion. It was just an eBay item. I’d suggest searching for an XR6 turbo oil drain on there, I’m sure they’d still be pretty easy to find 🍻
I have done the exact same. Bar for mk2 barra I put in my BA. 20k going strong. Brings me joy everyday. Great content.
I also tried to run it with a cowboy tune and it was f*****. Promptly paid for a good tune and its great.
hey mate, would a tune from t.i performance work to get the car running once turboed or take it to a dyno and get it tuned?
@tynanwellington355 sorry no idea, couldn’t tell ya
Turn up your grub screw under the s5 solenoid plug on your btr 4 speed so it shifts firmer and holds the clutches better and runs cooler

Legend mate. Great information on the build. Actually is pretty simple if you take your time with the right parts. Great video 👌
Cheers man, much appreciated 🍻
what can i say lovely bloke good content decent camera skills you get my sub mate!!
Thank you very much 🍻
Disconnect the thermostat that goes to the transmission cooler as well because it leaks as well I used a z hose cut down to connect the two hard lines
Rainbow Lorikeets lol great job on the na to turbo! 👍
Cheers man
Just picked up my first Falcon today! Mk1 fg. Turbo conversion will definitely be on the cards in the future.
Do it!

I so want to do my XE with a na barra but I reckon a turbo would be better.Awesome video mate.
Gr8 vid and informative. If you want a tip on best oil filters to use. Baldwin B2 - usa made. Best filters on the market.
Great Video Big Help. Ive got a 2005 ba xr6 n/a keen to do this in the near future. Looks easy enough save some money to

Nice job!👍
Nice mate.
Love the video good job. Question where you get the adaptor map sensor plug from?
EBay, but I’ve since found that apparently the FG turbo map sensor plugs straight in 👌🏻
Real helpfull vid. Thanx bro

How did you drill the sump without get metal into it
Greased the drill bit
That exshurst manifold got 6 branches how what size is that engine it looks like the Volvo and Ford ST focus but they are 5 silinder
6 cylinder 4 litre
In line 6 Barra 🤘
Hay mate you git an address for the tuner you used, got a similar set up,and just need good tune for daily driving, cheers, great content aswell 👍

Hey mate. What engine oil do you recommend for a 2005 ba xr6. I've been using 10w-50. Is 5w-30 better. Just after a opinion about it cheers bloke 👍🏻
Hey man I use 10-40 diesel oil. Has extra lubrication qualities and detergents to keep everything clean. A must on turbo cars in my opinion
@@oldskoolonly thanks bro.
With ya map sensor don't people use FG that way ya ment to bypass the need of that adapted plug I could be wrong
Currently attempting this conversion on my Manual XL Ute , your videos have been very helpful. Have you made any more power modifications since ??

I have a bf green top ute that I want to do this too. Do you think I need to change the ecu as it’s dedicated gas atm.
Couldn’t tell ya mate, no idea
I’m swapping a na black top into a turboed ba falcon would it be able to last?
If you tune it correctly. I’ve done over 70000k’s in mine at 250kw and it’s fine

Is it factory ecu or turbo ecu
Factory NA
The 2 bar map sensor needs to be be flipped in the tune files so the car can read it properly you’ve probably already figured that out by now but 😂
